Hacienda San Miguel

We just returned from a week-long stay at Hacienda San Miguel. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for great value & location, nice personalized service, and are willing to put up with some flaws. We stayed in the Alcatraz room, a ground floor studio, facing the courtyard. PROS: The room was quite large with two double beds, a kitchenette with a breakfast bar and a large shower. My husband and I spent our honeymoon in Cozumel. We were pleased with Hacienda San Miguel. We booked through Expedia, and the rates were great. We stayed in Alheli and it was nice to have a kitchenette. It was very clean, too. A couple drawbacks....the bed was very firm. I liked this, but my husband thought differently. The linens were stained and in bad shape. We brought our own pillowcases to put on. The pillows were lumpy too. Cable TV was nice with a couple of English channels. Just got back from my second trip to Cozumel: We stayed (again) at Hacienda San Miguel. This hotel offers beautiful rustic rooms (tile floors, talavera sinks, french doors to a balcony, tv, purified water) at a really fantastic price that includes continental breakfast. (alfredo and staff are amazingly accomodating and friendly)This hotel is for people who like to walk around and eat at different places as opposed to being catered to i.e. an all inclusive, which I find to be way overpriced and takes away from the adventure of discovering the... more

I am so happy to have found this beautiful retreat in Cozumel. I booked via Expedia and was offered a great rate that included breakfast that was brought to my room everymorning as soon as we were ready for it. The staff were very helpful when asked any questions. We were given free passes to Mr. Sanchos which was about a $12 taxi ride away on the other side of the island. Just returned from 4 nights in the HSM's Magnolia Suite (2nd flr; 1 qn bed /1 single bed). Hmmm...how to reconcile peace of courtyard garden, convenient-yet-quiet charm of location, tasty brkfst brought to room each morning with a little card bearing inspirational quote and daily forecast, talavera lamps and bath sink, solid wood furniture, cold frig and a/c untis, cable tv and hairdryer with (UGH) horrible overhead flourescent lights, the worst board-like mattresses i have ever had in a hotel, ratty ugly linens and moody desk help? Beware!!! A Virtual tour of the charming courtyard and the super reasonable prices drew us to the Hacienda San Miguel. We were so impressed as we entered the old fashioned wrought iron gated courtyard entrance, with it's beautiful fountain, that we thought we had found paradise. We have just returned from our second stay at Hacienda San Miguel and enjoyed it as much as the first time. The rooms are large and nicely appointed with Mexican art and colors. The courtyard is lush and full of singing birds at dusk and in the morning. The staff, Alfredo and Laura and the maid, Delphina, were great. Excellent coffee is delivered to your room every morning along with fresh bakery goods and orange juice. Thick cotton robes are provided for you as well. This is the best deal on the island. The room was incredibly large. We had 2 queen beds, a full kitchen, a huge bathroom, and lovely gardens. There is a convenient grocery located 2 blocks from the hotel where you can find everything to make a good meal. I cannot stress enough how nice this hotel was. It would be especially nice to stay here with a family as you can cook all the meals.

Beautifull small 11 suites propertie. We wake up every morning with the birds playing in the gardens tree as well as the fountain. Lovely rooms Mwxican style decor, shape as an Hacienda. Half block from the ocean side. Morning walks are amazing. The price is excellent as you get personalize services as well as daily continental breakfasst and the suites fit a full equiped kitchennette. Do not miss the Hacienda San Miguel
