Paradise in Mexico
My husband and I just returned from a wonderful week at this beautiful resort. We had a junior suite near the pool, which was exactly what we had requested. The room was spotless, cleaned early each day and the chamber maid only too happy to comply with requests for extra towels, etc. The food was good except for the italian restaurant which we did not care for at all. The steak house was excellent. The entertainment was good make sure to catch the signers near the pool at night which we enjoyed more than the show. The staff was very... more
Beautiful Kantenah/a couple recommendations
Kantenah is a wonderful resort with a freindly staff. Here are a few recommendations, if you are responsible for your own transportation, take a taxi from the airport to your hotel for 50.00 us dollars. Shuttles will charge more and have to make several stops to other hotels first. Also if you are going to take an excursion to the pyramids or snorkeling, go through Apple vacations(they have a desk at the resort and are open every day), they will charge less for the excursion and don't need a 48 hr notice. My husband who was apprehensive... more
A great place to vacation!
I'll try not to be repetitious, as there is already a lot of information provided by others. For starters, this resort is now known as the Palladium, though most locals still refer to it as the Fiesta Grand. (The name has been changed several times as a result of confusion between it and the Fiesta Americana chain, so do be forewarned.)The resort itself is simply beautiful - the use of marble, the gardens, the fountains, the pools - all make this place a delight to the eye. It takes a day or two to get used to the many walkways, and the... more
We loved it so much we leave in 7 days for the Fiesta Bavaro in Punta Cana!
Before I begin, I want to say this place is amazing. We stayed in building 3 on the second floor and we loved it. We were far from the beach, but so close to the lobbies and to everything. Nothing should be considered far! You are only a few minutes walk from everywhere. We loved building 3! We will be back there again November 2003. I leave in 7 days for the Fiesta Bavaro Resort in Punta Cana. The Fiesta resorts are really great for the price you pay. We were treated like a king and queen and enjoyed every minute of it. RESORT:... more
Loved this resort!
We had an absolutely wonderful time at this resort! It was beautiful and the food excellant. We spent most of our time at the beach which was right out our front door. We were in a Mayan suite which they upgraded us to. Fell in love with the jacuzzi and outdoor shower. The only thing that you would want to watch for especially with children is that the women do not adher to the policy of topless only at the adult pool. In fact there were more that were topless at the beach than anywhere else. Other than that the people and service... more
Beautiful Surroundings, Great Weather...
Just stayed at the Kantenah side of the Grand Fiesta Resort from Feb.2 - Feb.9,2003. Let's start with the good things. The Kantenah and Colonial sides are pretty much mirror images of each other so it doesn't matter which side you stay on. The flamingos at the entrance and the crocodiles at the restaurants are a little bonus. This resort certainly hasn't skimped on the marble as it is everywhere; lobby, rooms, restaurants, restrooms, etc. It is very tastefully and subtly decorated. The rooms are nice but only 6% of the rooms at this... more
Fantastic Resort
We just returned from a fantastic vacation at the Riviera Maya. We stayed at the Fiestaval Grand Resort, which is a new resort. This resort was everything and more than the reviews that we read. The people were so friendly; the entertainment was out of this world and the food to die for. One of their most beautiful features besides the beauty of the resort was their swimming pools and beach area. My husband and I both enjoyed a massage why we were their, the prices were very reasonable. We are already planning a trip next year... more
Happy Vacationers
My husband and I just returned from an absolutely wonderful vacation. First class resort. Food is tastefully displayed and there is plenty of it. Great selection. Drinks flow abundately. Never a long wait. Service was superior. Staff very friendly, smiling, more then willing to help. Entertainment was superb ... great talent. Rooms were kept very clean, towels and face cloths supplied every day. What a treat to find towels rolled into swans, teddy bears, palm trees. These little extras add to a wonderful stay. Resort offers... more
Disappointed
Ditto to "Not as great as I had read on the internet". This was our first all inclusive resort and if this is the norm, I'll stick to cruises. We had so many problems and called them on their false advertising (queen beds, all-adult Mayan Suites {kids in the room above us) that the resort has offered us a free trip back there. Honestly, it was so disappointing, I don't know if we will even take the free trip. It was a beautiful resort but the beach / water will be ruined in a few years. The guests would stand on the coral and you could... more
Great all inclusive
I visited the resort from Jan5 to Jan 12, 2003 with my wife and two adult children. We loved it. While it is not perfect, it was a great place to stay. I love how the resort is spread out and not all in one or two buildings. The food: The Buffet restaurants were good, not great. There is enough of a selection at every meal so you don't have to eat the same thing twice. The breakfasts were great. There is something for every one. Make sure to eat the Bananas Foster at breakfast-"killer good". I was a little disappointed in the... more
