a excellent service from the hotel staff, couldnt be more helpful. nrooms were very clean and tidy on the 7th floor, admiral floor, check in was more than helpful, when calling reception it was done asap. no complaints at all. the only thing that i would take note off is if going take some robinsons squash if have young children as unable to buy any orange squash for anything of that sort for a child.
and if have funny eating children like me, please remember that breakfast is only a contintal breakfast.
take own tea or coffee, like anywhere and buy uht milk from the station shop. kettles are supplied.
the reception staff speak very good english.
excellent and lovely hotel. xxx

  • Advice: take own squash for children to drink with you

I will keep the review short, we arrived on 26/08/2011 staying until 29/08/2011 on b and b basis for a family room on the admirals floor and costing £3,000, check in staf were rude and rushed and had no time for us. The smell in the corridoors was awful, wallpaper peeling of the walls, on arrival at the room only 2 beds were made up, dirty cups in the bathroom and half used shampoo, broken drawers and coffee stains all down the drawers, wallpaper peeling of the walls, broken catches on the windows with plastic hanging off,the room was booked for 2 adults and 3 children, only 3 glasses in the room, coffee sachets already open from previous guests. We had to phone reception (after 30 mins we got through) to have extra beds made up. The staff in the bar looked after the french guests and we had to remind them many times whilst we saw food arriving on other tables within minutes (we waited half an hour). Expect to pay £20 for a bottle of white wine, £3.50 for a small ice drink, fanta and water, there are snacks available but they do not advertise them, you can get a dish with cheese, tomatoes and crips for £5.00 that went down a treat with the children but again you have to look to see what everyone else had on thier table! On the last day we were sent down the stairs to two breakfast options that we didn't know were there..top tip go downstairs for breakfast much more pleasant and more room rather than the horrible breakfast room we were put in the first two mornings..only thing left to say is good luck if you book this hotel we wouldn't go back! stayed in other cheaper hotels at disney and much more friendly

  • Advice: avoid rooms with a long walk to reception(esp with little ones) and walk to the park rather than the busy shuttle bus

I just retirned form 4 days in Disneyland Paris with my son,we stayed at the Newport Bay Club. The hostel is great.breakfast is very good and the buffet we had at Cape Cod was one of the best.I agree that it neeeds a little redocoration as for the price you pay you expect to get better.I stayed at Santa Fe before and the rooms were just the same.I prefer Newport as it seems safer to get to your room especially at night.Over all well done!

Meet Mickey and his real friends

Aug 2011, Grumpy

Having stayed at Newport Bay when it opened and other Disney hotels in Paris and Orlando since I was looking forward to my return. Oh dear !!
Booked double room & was given king size - "couples like intimate rooms"
Tea & coffee making facilities included on Admirals floor - I was told to go buy them from the shop
Housekeeping were in the room at 5.15pm when we wanted to get in & they just laughed. (complained and was told they have a lot of rooms)
The lower entrance stinks & they put it down to rain - poor excuse.
And to cap it all there was a mouse in the bar that happily ran around without being bothered by staff every night we were there (5 nights). He was known to guests as "Mickey 2".
We were given an upgrade to the Captains breakfast for a couple of days. Nice but on one of those days I had to wait 10 minutes for more bacon & when it eventually came they had run out of sausages and eggs. I gave up and had a bacon sarni.
I will not be returning to Newport Bay.

Have just spent four days with my two grandchildren and a friend and we had a great time. After reading some of the reviews before we arrived I was a bit dismayed but we found the hotel was billiant. The staff couldnt have been more helpful and the rooms were excellent. The standard of hygiene was very good and the children enjoyed the swimming pool very much. The hotel is very large and it can take a while to get to your room but the park was only ten minutes walk and there is a shuttle if you so wish. We had breakfast in the hotel which we all enjoyed and there was plenty of choice (what do most people eat for breakfast). We loved the park. I feel the only fault was the price of some of the food in the park. There was little choice of good food and the only thing they served with your meal tended to be horrible chips. The food in the restaurants was quite expensive but you could get cheaper snacks in the park. I found our experience very enjoyable. Although I am not planning to go back I would recommend the Newport Bay Hotel but the food in the park centainly needs overhauling.

Expensive tired so not the Disney experience

Jul 2011, The Martins Jersey

Just back from 5 days at this hotel, we traveled there as my daughter was taking part in the Dance World Cup. The hotel is very tired, paper peeling off walls in some of the communal corridors, badly marked carpets, funny smell everywhere, very expensive and poor quality food however better than eating in Disney village or the parks which was a total rip off and generally inedible. My advice save a bit extra and go to Florida for the Disney experience. I won't go back.

fab time had by all

we stayed over xmas 2010 for 5 nights, the kids loved the hotel more than the park itself, loads of places to explore, the games room, fab shop etc, the best meal we had during the whole stay was in the little bar, we had hot paninis, pizza and toasties with crisps, it was pretty cheap and lots of it! breakfast food wasnt great unless you like pastries, would have liked egg and bacon as in the other better rated hotels. Our room was absolutely boiling, we turned on the air con and had all windows open 24/7 and it was still hot, we only had a short walk to reception etc. Our daughter has minor medical condition and when we arrived, they surprised her with meeting all the princesses in the park by missing out the queue and going straight up to them, fantastic!! Food in rainforest restaurant was absolutely appalling, mcdonalds and park burgers/chips were much better standard, I had to stop the kids eating their dinner and go elsewhere, and it was ridiculously expensive. annettes diner provided great fast food and not bad prices.
We had to go to reception to ask for things and they were really helpful and if they couldnt help they got straight back to us, the cleaning people were in daily and were a bit rude/impatient if you were in the room! We wouldnt go back to newport but only because we would want to go to a different one, forget the bad reviews, we had a great xmas there, try it yourself!!

just returned from 5 days at newport club.
must admit had a funny smell to the place, more like damp.
Staff in general were brilliant, although i must admit i am one to do the entertainment, and staff seemed to enjoy, including the head boss who i met during my stay. Charming man and trying to do the best for all concerned.
wouldn't go again i am afraid, spent most of my time looking for fresh air as the hotel was too hot.

Stayed at this same hotel approx. 8 years ago and have just return from there after spending 3days the quality and look have really gone down hill. I will not be staying at this Hotel again. From the moment we pulled up in front of the hotel, as you normally do to unload our cases to be told by a very unfriendly rude doorman that we can stop here hence we had to struggle later from the car park with the cases when I room was ready. We had free tea and coffee making facilities but no tea and coffee in the room which we should have been given a voucher to collect from concierge! When we did receive our cardboard box of tea and coffee with paper cups! I asked at reception for some china cups to make tea and this was refused due to security i was confused, because in the bathroom there was two china beakers for toothbrushes along with a china soap dish!
Our room was not clean and there was dust and cob webs to be found in the lamp shades and skirting, wall paper was peeling off in a lot or areas. There was dirty paper cups obviously from the guest before us who made there tea or coffee in them. We did not spend a lot a time in the hotel only just merely shower, sleep and eat breakfast. So yes we were very disappointed in this hotel and feel that is not worth the money

  • Advice: Try another Hotel.

Mixed reviews seem fair

We just got back from Eurodisney with our two children and have to agree with the very mixed reviews I have read so far. The Newport Bay is an absolutely massive hotel with great service but as some one mentioned earlier is is in need of a redec (it's looking a bit tired). TBH, If you are like us you will spend very little time there as the parks are the main point of being at Eurodisney. It isn't 5 star but it isn't claiming to be either!
Checking in/out was hassle free but it is a large hotel and the lobby can be frantic. The room was clean, comfortable and had everything you need except tea and coffee???? you have to buy a 'tea basket' for 8 Euros. Come on.... travele lodge throw in tea and coffee for a room which costs £22 a night. If like me, you cant speak until you have had tea pack some supplies :)
After a late arival we ate in the restaurant the first evening and we thought the buffet was reasonable and the choice was excellent. Breakfast is great but again MANIC. We left on Saturday morning and the lines for breakfast while moved fast went on and on and on....
Like I say mixed reviews but on the whole we were happy. Ver large very busy hotel which possibly needs some tweaks and redecoration and free wifi please!

Nov 2010, not usually a complianer

We spent 4 nights at this hotel and was very disapointed. looks good but basic and uninviting. in 5 days we didnt see one disney character or anything that slightly resembled one which is bad when you have a 4 year old disney princess fan. I was on crutches so we had to pay 2 euros each person each way to get to and from the parks as the hotel is a long walk from anything. That cost us 60 euros just to get to the parks from a hotel that is overpriced and placed as far away from the parks as you could get without it being in another country, left a very bitter taste as we had no choice (didnt say that on the website). For some reason the swimming pool doesnt open until 3pm. This could only be to deter people from using it as most people we spoke to couldnt believe it. When it rains if you dont go into a park, there is nothing really to do.Breakfast was the worst experience we have ever had in a hotel. Beware of the stampeed, thats if you dont fall asleep whilst queueing for hours on end every day. No atmosphere what so ever so save yourself money and stay out of the park. I cannot stress how bad and what a waiste of money this hotel is. We went half board and felt like second class citizens when told we can only eat a few things on the menu even if we offered to pay the difference. Pay the little bit extra and go to florida

We just got back a few days ago from a 4 night stay at this hotel. I was a bit apprehensive about staying there after reading some of these reviews - but I shouldn't have worried!
We had no problems checking in and using the Disney Express service was easy and really handy. Our room was a short distance from reception and for a standard room was lovely. The shower was great, the beds comfy and we had a balcony which was really pretty. We booked breakfast for 7:30 (although really you could go at any time), and we didn't have to wait long to be seated.
Taking advantage of the 'extra hours' in the park is a good idea, as we were able to get so much done then without having to wait much - and grab fast pass when you can - it makes all the difference.
We took water bottles into the park and filled them up at the many water stations.
It is also a good idea to hire a buggy if you have a child under 7.
The only downside was the staff pretending not to understand if we spoke french - they really don't like you trying, so my advice is not to bother!. Also don't eat at Planet Hollywood - the staff are very slow to serve (esp, British customers - we noticed). Also my burger was served raw (apparently you have to ask to have it cooked - well done)!!!!
However Cafe Mickey was great - food amazing (pricey -but worth it).
The food in the whole place is expensive - expect to fork out about 150 euros per day for a family of four.
