Have you ever not been sure of a holiday when you first booked it? Yep, that was me... setting off with 2 friends to Paris to spend 3 days at Euro Disney... and I was having second thoughts! What was I doing? I don’t even like roller coasters or cartoons?
How was I?
Catching the easy and simple Euro star from London to Paris was a breeze and allowed us to enjoy some of the French country sights we would have otherwise missed in a plane.
Arriving at the Paris terminal, we made one quick platform change and we were on our way to Disneyland... me still thinking I was going to have a terrible time.
Arrival... what can I say, the Hotels... beautiful. The information and assistance staff... exceptional and the constant atmosphere of fun in the air had me loosening up immediately.
We checked into our delightful hotel. Good bar... check! Good hotel restaurant... 3 of them check! Nice rooms... check! Gift shop... check! Awesome views of the lakes and theme park... check! In-house masseuse to keep me relaxed... check! This place had all I needed and was only a 3 minute walk to the Disney Village (for late night clubs that keep you dancing all night and a huge range of restaurants and bars) or the theme park.
We ventured to the studios and then the park over the next few days... I became a big kid again... I rode roller coasters (over and over and over again), I screamed, I ate delicious foods, I stalked the characters that were walking around the park begging for photo’s with Mickey, Minnie and all the gang. I watched the Lion King and the Tarzan show... both had me amazed.
At the end of the weekend, travelling back on the Euro star I imagined how much money has been spent on this destination as everything was just perfect and then I started to think about how much they must have charged me for all my fun... as I started to work it out an epiphany came to me... it wasn’t expensive at all!
I’ve had some holidays and weekends away that have truly been fruitless, boring and expensive... but my weekend to Euro Disney was fun, glamorous, exciting, indulgent and affordable.
If you’ve got kids or can find the kid in you... get over to Euro Disney and have a blast.

A truly great experience for all of my family. This was our first holiday as a family, and the memories that we have of Disneyland Paris will hold dear to us all. It was as magical as it advertises! - the hotel was superb, simply writing this wants me to book again - infact I think I will! The whole issue of being a family, to me, is enjoying the time we have as that- a family. Disneyland Paris gave us the opportunity to enjoy ourselves, with ourselves, in a wonderful, magical place.

Flight was average with Air France. However, upon arrival at Charles De Gaulle Airport we had to wait 2 hours for the VEA bus to take us to the resort. The buses are scheduled to run every 20 minutes. After we had waited over an hour, I called our tour operator to ask if they would authorise a taxi. They called me back and said they were unable to contact the bus company but would keep trying but I could not get a taxi. During the 2 hour wait two foreigners intimidated my daughter and me. Then two buses arrived to collect the large queue of passengers, but no explanation or apology was given for the delay.
Once at the resort the hotel and the park were very good as we had expected. We only had to wait 5-10 minutes for most rides and some we just walked straight onto. The journey back went without any hitches, though the bus company stated to catch a return bus 2.5 hours before check in time. The bus arrived on time and only took 40 minuets so we had a long wait at the airport.
