Great, Convenient Hotel
We stayed at the Doubletree Hotel in a renovated room for 10 nights with our 8-year old son. We booked through doubletree.com for $86.00 per night (AAA rate) and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hotel is about a 10-15 minute drive from the airport (Route 26). We were promptly greeted by the friendly valet and front desk personnel upon our arrival. We chose to self-park the car in the covered garage at $15.00 per night instead of using the valet ($20.00 per night). While we were there, the hotel was still undergoing some renovations... more
Very impressed by the friendly and helpful staff!
The trip started with warm, chocolate chip cookies and ended with staff members asking if they could see us next week. The staff made us feel like the hotel was our home, not a temporary dwelling place. They gave us assistance in planning our activities and arranging for transportation throughout Puerto Rico. (Our favorite activity was El Yunque, the rainforest. El Morro in Old San Juan was a close second.) They also recommended places in the area where we could hear Latin music. Our favorite hotel restaurant was Under the Trees. It... more
Very nice and comfortable
My husband stayed at the Doubletree San Juan on our way to Vieques. It was our first trip to San Juan. The Doubletree was very clean and the pool/jacuzzi area was great. The fitness center also had several treadmills and some weight equipment. The rooms were very nice, but a little small. There were several computers set up in the lobby for guests to use, which was great! There are several restaurants in the area, and a supermarket across the street. The location is okay- it is close to Route 26 which makes it accessible to pretty much... more
Very Comfy for Young Family
From the moment we arrived, we were treated well. The hotel is very modern and clean. The staff are very helpful - especially if you want to explore and try real Puerto Rican cuisine and see sights off the beaten path. If you have time, I recommend renting a car and travelling to Ricon, Ponce, and Fajardo (to go the ferry to see Vieques or another island). Very easy to navigate the island via highway. You can get maps from the valet at the hotel. There is a supermarket across the street which was very convenient. The hotel's murphy... more
great hotel for the price
Me and my boyfriend stood at this hotel from 7/16-7/20. The staff was extremely helpful and very friendly. They made us feel welcome and at home. The cookies we got at check in were such a cute gesture. We never ate at the hotels restaurant just because we wanted some more authentic puerto rican food. The rooms are bit small but very comfortable none the less. The beds are amazing to sleep in, extremely comfortable. The room overall was very cozy regardless of the lack of space which was ok with us. The pool, hot tub, and gym are open 24... more
Top Notch Hotel and Staff
We stayed at this hotel prior to sailing on a Carribbean Cruise. The room, Hotel, facilities, grounds are all top notch. Antonio, the bell man, was super duper and took care to ensure we got our taxis and tours without delay. The nearby restaurant, Silk, is fabulous. There is a 24/7 larger grocery store across the street and the major tourist area of Condado is just a 7 minute walk away.
Fantastic Hotel
We stayed two nights at this hotel. It is a newer hotel and all the rooms are very nicely furnished. It has a feel of a nice urban chic hotel and yet the price is just right. There are a couple of upscale dining options right by the hotel. The bistro in the hotel, Silk the Sushi bar and Alquimia bistro in the apartment block right next door. Bebo's is another excellent local dining option. You can get good value breakfast here also. Just a 10 minute walk away is Ashford Ave this has unlimited dining options of all kinds. There is a 24... more
Management response from LaConchaRenaissance

Dear Tripadvisor user: I am glad to know that you enjoy your stay at our hotel. For just a two day visit, it seems that you have taken advantage of your trip. Besides our restaurants Silk, Alquimia, and Michael’s Bistro, we also have Under The Trees which is great for pastas, salads, soups, and breakfast. You can never go wrong with Bebo’s for a great Puertorrican meal. We always recommend the best. I imagine that two nights may not be enough to take advantage of all the pleasures Puerto Rico has to offer. Before your next visit to our hotel, contact me at jose.cepero@hilton.com. I would like to meet you and offer more suggestions on where to go and what to do. Always at your service, Jose Cepero Operations Manager

FANTASTIC
I cant say enough about our stay at this hotel. The place is clean and the staff is one of the friendliest I have ever been around. It's a few blocks from the beach and the restaurants under the trees are great. You also have Bebos around the corner for fantastic food. If not for the Double Tree and their staff I dont know what we would have done being we had such a horrible plane ride and were supposed to be at a friends house. I would like to give a special thanks to Courtney, Margarita, and Jose and all the staff their you guys were... more
Great business hotel; much improved from the BW Pierre of old.
This is my third stay at what is now the DoubleTree by Hilton San Juan, formerly the Best Western Pierre. I enjoyed the Pierre in the past because of it's friendly staff, excellent location close to major roads and expressways and, frankly, the free breakfast. DoubleTree has kept, to my pleasant surprise, the vast majority of the lobby, maintenance, and housekeeping staff which were always so helpful in the past. The registration desk was sufficiently staffed such that, upon check-in, I didn't have to wait long to get into my room... more
Fantastic stay!
This place is all about service and ensuring you have a great experience! They made sure all of our needs were met including helping me find a vegan friendly restaurant! They translated with the pizza guys and bartered on our behalf for the best taxi fares! We spent 9 nights here and it was clean, relaxing and we plan on going back next year! We walked two blocks to the Condado and the beach; rested around the pool, and enjoyed fantastic meals in Michael's Bistro downstairs and Under the Trees acrossed the walk. The great price was... more
