Coconut Palms Resort

THE AMBIENT WAS VERY GOOD, IF YOU SEE A INSECT COME ON THESE IS A TROPICAL ISLAND. If you love life with it simplicity the island is for you, love the place the guy,sarround the poll where very nice

We stayed at the Coconut Palms Resort in July of 2006. We had a really great time thanks to the warmth and hospitality of the staff and the other guests. Everyone was so helpful. The food was great and the dining room staff were always ready to help with whatever our needs were. We went on tours and activities arranged by Melvin and Wilson, two of the nicest guys you could meet. Sammy at the front desk was always ready to help also. Nicky at the Tiki bar made each afternoon a place to be even if you don't drink. He was always entertaining... more

Just returned from coconut palms resort and we did enjoy our stay.The furnitures in the resort were old, not a top class resort but enjoyable. There was no air condition but breeze blew all the time so we did not really miss the air condition. we did go on a few tours and they were ok especially the one to Barcadi island. The beach at the resort were not good for swimming, there were too many rocks, but the beach at sosoua was really wonderful. the Staff was really friendly and very helpful, housekeeping did a great job... more

My husband I just returned from or vacation. We were dissapointed in many ways. In regards to the hotel: * NO air - it was sooo hot!! * Our TV was a small 12 inch that ws attached to the ceiling, my husband was mad about that * Richard the Assisant Manager was annoying and he seemed to be everywhere * Beach is not raked and it is dirty; also you have to walk about a mile down a dirt raod to get to it * Food wasn't that great * The furniture was horribly uncomfortable and covered in plastic * Our... more

We were very pleased with our experience. Rooms are very large and clean. They have a free shuttle to Cabarete and Sosua. (Nearby towns). Gorgeous beaches there. Meal program is not very good. Don't get it. Cheaper places to eat in Cabarete and Sosua. You can also purchase individual meals, in the restaurant if you wish. Entertainment was average, compared to other places we stayed. when my husband and I flew to the coconut palms resort, we were expecting two weeks bliss in the caribbean,lazing round the pool,and cooling off in the pool,how wrong this turned out to be, we could only stand 3 days of this run down, noisy resort,over run with anti british yanks,spearheaded by a male rep,well I think he was male,whose voice you heard first thing in a morning, and the last thing you heard at night,come to think about it, you heard his high pithed loud mouth all day, not a minutes peace could we capured ,so we will go to... more

Excellent!!!! Judy is an amazing manager and the staff is very friendly and solve any complaints right away. It is a great place to stay at.

They didn't have any activities for the kids or for the adults. There was nothing to do past eight. During the day you could swim in their little pool or eat at their little restaurant... the hotel has access to a private beach but was very small and not so good for swimming. The staff is really nice though...

Don't waste your money statying at this hotel, there are so many others on the island that are better in every way. We travelled to coconut Palms in August and wanted to leave the minute we arrived and it just continued to get worst. There were cat sized rats in the resturant running under the tables beneath our feet and when the management was informed of the problem their response was, "Don't tell anyone." There were huge cocroaches in the hotel rooms. No airconditioning so it was uncomfortable all hours of the day and the celing fans... more

We were there in June. What a great place to getaway from everything. The inner courtyard invites you to just relax and do nothing in style. The rooms are typically Caribbean, bright, airy, but no A/C, which we didn't need. The staff will do whatever it takes to make your stay enjoyable. The massages are fantastic! The location is secluded enough to where you feel safe and secure on the resort property, but can easily get into both Sosua or Cabarete via the shuttle. The snorkling in Sosua is wonderful - right off the beach.... more
