Dirty! Lousy management & nothing special (no price / value!)

I would like to give you a little trip report about my latest stay in the Centara Grand Maldives. As we arrived at Male International Airport we had to wait almost 2 hours for our connection via sea plane, which was arranged by the hotel, to the island. We were told at boarding, by an centara rep. that we had to take the next plane.. but were given no information why we had to take the next plane and when it would depart. For some reasons our names were called few minutes later and we had to board our plane in a rush. Afterwards...

We realized that we had some teething problems and we personally can guarantee you, that corrective measures have been already taken to overcome all the shortcomings described. As you know, during your stay unfortunately, we also did experience unseasonable high seas, severe rain and winds which have hindered us to speed up the final steps this Resort so desperately needed. A perfect paradise island retreat

Brand new resort, opened a few weeks ago. Got there with Sea Plane 25 min ride from MLE. No arrival representative available at MLE airport, but only a 10 meter walk to Maldivian Air Taxi counter to check in . Waiting time for flight departure about 2.5hours. Arrival at the hotel was a pleasure, Welcome staff made us truly feeling special and check in was a breeze. Fantastic resort - Value for money

We have just returned from Centara after a 10 day stay and would have no hesitation in recommending this resort. We flew with Emirates via Dubai and arrived in Male to join our sea plane transfer which gave brilliant views over the ocean. On arrival at Centara we were greeted with cold towels and a reviving welcome drink before being shown to our deluxe water villa Number 93, which we later discovered seem to have one of the best locations for snorkelling. A Wonderful Place

Just came back on 17 Dec after staying in the island for 5 nights. Everythings were execellent. Although I stayed only at the beach house, the experience was unforgetable. The marine lifes were very very attractive. My wife and I went fishing and she catched a 4 Kg red snapper. Go and I am sure you won't get disappointed.
Paradise in the Maldives

Just returned from 10 fantastic nights at this wonderful new resort. The below review says it all, we totally agree, hence tried to write our review on elements not covered therein. We stayed in a deluxe water villa with 1 child (8 yrs old). Our room size was more than adequate to accommodate the additional bed for our daughter. The bathroom has a double jacuzzi, shower & toilet cubicles... all extremely spacious. There is also an outdoor shower on the balcony/ terrace with views to die for. Our room was cleaned twice a day...

Exceeded expectations

Well. we were a little apprehensive about the Centara given the problems reported on Trip Advisor about it's opening. However, we were pleased to find a fantastic resort with exceptional food and very high standards of service. We stayed in a Luxury Water Villa with Island Club benefits. It was roomy, well equipped including a bath big enough for two to sit and look out directly over the ocean. My wife, daughter and I set off to the new Centara Grand Island Resort & Spa 5 days after it opened, for the holiday of a lifetime. We arrived in Male and took the seaplane flight to Grand Island. In good weather the flight offers spectacular views of hundreds of white islands surrounded by bright aqua waters. The island hoppers seat 14 pax and are a real experience. GI is only a 25 min flight and looks fab as you come in to land. Key point about GI, it is a very small island, you get walk around it in 15 mins. Now this is a hard...

This resort opened 1st Nov We stayed 7th till 18th Nov We landed on the island in a rain storm witch seemed to last for three day, which was a shame as all you do is to pick holes with things,but when the sun came out all was forgotten and it was lovely. The rooms do need a lot of small things doing (toilet roll holder cupboard lights that do not go off socket for kettle etc) The restaurants were excellent (steak to die for) Diving on the house reef and wreck excellent. Centara - Opened too soon

We arrived at Centara on the 2nd November, just after it opened for business, we were advised that it would be a ‘soft’ opening but that most of the resort would be complete. Our seaplane (Maldivian Air Taxi) landed at a pontoon which required a transfer to the resort by Boat, where we were greeted to a welcome cocktail and shown to our chosen accommodation, a Deluxe Water Villa.
