Casa del Mar Cozumel

The worst place I have ever been. Service is terrible, food is very bad all 16 people in our group got food poisoning and were forced to leave early. If you want to go to hell whole go here! WOULD NEVER RECOMEND IT TO ANYONE!!!!

On July 11, my wife, sister, future brother in law and his daughter arrived at Casa Del Mar. When we arrived it took no less that thirty minutes to even get one of us checked in. We also found that there were approximately 150 of the rudest, loudest, most obnoxious 15-18 year old children from a "prominant" school in Canada. They had to be told to be quiet on a regular basis. While on our diving trip to Cozumel, we were detained two extra days due to the arrival of Hurricane Emily. The staff was excellent including the divemasters. While the strom was approaching, we were kept well informed with instructions on when and where to be in a safe room. The staff prepared the lobby where we were to stay, with water, towels, blankets, pillows and a buffet dinner. Just returned from a family vacation in Cozumel. Casa del Mar is the greatest! For families, I highly recommend staying in one of the luxurious cabanas. To top it off, the staff throughout the entire hotel were so great and accomodating. Great food, and many options- I will be coming back for sure!!

We had a wonderful time during our stay at Casa Del Mar. They upgraded us to a Cabana which is 2 floors...upstairs is a bathroom with a shower, air conditioning, t.v., phone, kitchenette (no cooking/eating utensils but has a microwave, mini fridge, sink) and king size sofa bed. Downstairs had a bathroom with a seperate shower and huge tub, air conditioning, t.v., and phone. Our 14 & 12 year old were in heaven...it was like they had their own little apartment! This is a very nice hotel for the money. Located accross the street from the dive shop, this well maintained property is a great choice for divers.

My daughter and I just returned from Casa del Mar yesterday after a short 4 day vacation. This was our first trip where my husband and son didn't come along with us. We were a little nervous going into a foreign country without them. We had checked the Trip Advisor to see the reviews on the Casa del Mar as it was part of a package through Worry-free vacations. We stayed at the Casa Del Mar in Feb 2005. This was our second stay at the hotel. We like the clean,comfortable feeling of the hotel. We had a ocean view, ground level room. And YES you can see the ocean!! Our room had a walk out patio, 28 steps from the pool. No bugs, flies, or geckos. I was dissapointed about the gecko's as I come to look forward to them in Mexico. We ended up at Casa del Mar last week after getting a last minute flight, there wasn't much time to secure lodging. Granted we have always stayed at 5 or 6 star hotels so we have high expectations. Upon arrival they assigned us to room 211. As we carried our luggage up the stairs (there are no elevators) and entered the room I was horrified. It had the ambiance of an old gas station restroom. dated but nice hotel great for divers. not much of a beach but pool is nice and the hotel is across from ocean on the main road and by the cruise ships. the best part is the service and the food was good, where else can you get ribs and fahitas at a all inclusive.
