Eh. - Nothing to talk about.
from reistrofferdesign
The hotel is honestly rather nice. - If your like me and you dont like to be waited on hand and foot its perfect. - I didn't have an issue with bugs like others have posted. - The rooms were sub-par, but to be quite frank I wasn't in my room very often. :) I am rather confused how everyone keeps saying its only a few minutes from the beach. - If you walk to the beach its at least half a mile. Should I had known this I would have chosen another hotel. Leaving the hotel we were constantly bothered by locals hounding us for rides...

Decent value
from MuttToronto
We (my two adult daughters and their boyfriends) just returned from a six night stay at the resort and were not disappointed with it. If you want to be pampered you should stay at an all inclusive resort. There are no phones and no refrigerators but our room was clean and comfortable. Air conditioning, tv, bathroom and showers all worked fine. Restaurant and pool was adequate. We rented a van in Mo Bay so that we could go do things on our own pace. We went to Dunn's River Falls and Half Moon Bay and ate at various restaurants. We also...

Eh...
from heart2travel
Positives: - Cleaning staff was accommodating and super sweet - Simple place to stay. Nothing extravagant, but quaint. Negatives: - We were taken to our room. The man turned the air conditioning on and cockroaches fell out. - Lots of ants - bring bug spray. - Hotel "restaurant" is understaffed, therefore veryyyy slow. - The staff told us it was a good deal to pay 500 Jamaican dollars for one way anywhere around the area. We soon found out standard is 50 Jamaicans. We constantly felt ripped off. - No...

I'd go back without hesitation
from Sharon123duncs
We selected this hotel, unusually, without reading the reviews in advance and have been really surprised to read so many negative reviews on our return from holiday. We booked a 'king' standard room which was not the most spacious, but I've been in smaller. Everything we would expect of the room was provided. The AC and overhead fan (most important facility to me) worked well. All rooms had a balcony, the bathrooms were a good size, clean, and housekeeping cleaned the rooms, changed the towels and made the bed without disturbing us...

Barely Tolerable......
from jimbo55
Our family of four stayed here for 6 nights during September 2007. The good stuff: our room was clean & comfortable, and everything in it worked well (not always true in Jamaica). Cable TV was excellent. We loved the free wireless internet that was available in the lobby area. A pool table available at no cost too. Most importantly, the staff was friendly and helpful. Also, Juicy J's Restaurant was just down the hill, and was excellent. Great food and prices, air conditioned and nice staff too. The not-so-good stuff:...

Short but very sweet
from icecreamluva
I had the best time ever. No beach to deal with all the hassles and my room was adequate, would have liked to had a bathtub, but I had a peak of the ocean and the AC worked great. The pool was my private pool and the food was excellent. The price was so reasonable. I could walk to the beach in 10 minutes or walk to the west end in 15. Shopping and food were so close and security was great too. I felt very safe traveling alone and the hotel was very serene. Its exactly what I wanted and needed! I will stay there again with my family.
Checked out immediately after arriving

I'd booked through hotwire, which listed this as a 2.5 star hotel. i knew the location wouldn't be on the beach, and that was no big deal because they had a pool. The pool was out of service (it seemed like it had been out for a while) and they weren't sure when it would be operational again. The good: The outside of the hotel had a neat appearance. Even at first glance in the room, it was also okay. The info on hotwire indicated the hotel had been renovated in December 2006. Where the hotel is located, there is a XXX strip...

I liked the voucher!!!
from blindm
the rooms does not have phone, so you have to go to the front desk all times.we read in the web that you have a 100 USD voucher to Rick's cafe, if you present you passport issue in 2007. We presented the passport and they promise sereval times, but during the week they never gave us the voucher, so we missed to go to Rick's cafe, waiting the promotional voucher. When the Hurricane Dean hit Jamaica (Negril) was our first experience, and nobody at the hotel told as what to do, or gave us any information, all the employees of the hotel...

Still under construction though staff was nice
from ReviewinWoman
My fiance and I decided that we need a short romantic getaway, and we booked this hotel through expedia.com because the reviews weren't bad and it was listed as an "Expedia Pick." When we arrived at the hotel, they didn't seem to have been expecting us --- though I had called 2 days before requesting that a refrigerator be ready for us to rent for our stay. They were out of fridges by the time we got there, and we were put in a corner room near some garbage, and the room was clearly still under construction. The room had a hostel-like...

Our fantastic stay at the Caribbean sunset Resort
from cleverhans
Caribbean Sunset Resort http://www.hotels.ca/index.jsp;jsid=bgfYsxuVwKHy8aT8kjOhr We booked two nights at the Caribbean Sunset Resort via Expedia (showed up as "Sunset Hotel") because it seemed like it was nice, and it was reasonably priced compared to the other accommodation available in Negril. The comments in Expedia seemed not too bad, and we were attracted by its non-all inclusiveness and location. (town centre) When we arrived from Montego Bay, our driver was a bit confused with the name: the Caribbean Sunset just...
