Breezes Varadero

I stayed at the Breezes Varadero from Oct 25 to Nov 1 and I didn't come across these "thugs" at all and I was by the pool bar a few times each day. I did notice a lot of British folks and generally they do drink too much and get rowdy but I didn't witness that this time. More noticable was the two girls who insisted on going topless the entire week, even at the buffet, gross. Loved the resort though...amazing staff, beach, rooms and food.

I must say that this location was very difficult to review, as I had no problems with the resort itself, just the fact our vacation was wrecked by a bunch of loud thugs with British accents. My wife was constantly taunted when she walked past there table at the pool bar, where they seemed to reside 24x7. One guy in particular, who went by the name Georige Porgie, was very vulgar and spent the entire week walking around shirtless showing his huge hairy belly to anyone who came close. A group of friends and I spent a week @ Breezes in Sept. 2003, and I have to say it was great... the resorts not exactly a 4 star resort to N.American standards but it is still nice... I mean people lets remember this is Cuba I'll say the resort is a 3 star but the beach brings it back up to a four. And to keep this in perspective I don't think that there is a 5 star resort on Varadero... from what we say Breezes is one of the nicest there... Went to the Breezes first week of Oct. I have read many reviews before booking this resort and felt as if many people were quite picky and seemed to rate this hotel faily low. I truly have no real complaints about the hotel . We arrived quite late at night, checking in I politely asked if my room was equiped with a king size bed and an ocean view. i paid for ROH so I really couldn't pick where iwas staying. Warning: this is not a 4+ Star resort! Arrived at 11 a.m. after travelling all night. No bellmen, no room, until 2p.m. This is the hottest place we've been in the Carribean, which is great except there are few ceilng fans or public areas with AC. We waited, stifling hot, dripping wet, and exhausted, for our room to be ready, all the while watching newcomers being checked in. The room was shabby, but always extremely clean, with good AC. We just came back from our honeymoon on Sunday September 21. We had an amazing 2 weeks at the Superclub Varadero. My husband was a bit sceptical about going to Cuba because of the food but he manage to find something he liked. If you arrive in the morning, expect that your room might not be available before 2pm. We had a call from the tour operators 1 week before we were due to depart to say our hotel - Sol Siranis was undergoing "major redevelopment" and we would have to relocate to the Superclubs Punterena - no way we said - a terrible hotel!!! I stayed at the Superclubs Breezes Varadero Resort the week of August 30-September 6 and I had a great time! It was very nice and hot and the beach was beautiful. The staff were great! They go out of their way to do things for you. The Italian restaurant is very elegant and the food is amazing. I really enjoyed the buffet. I had read reviews before my vacation and read some complaints but I really had nothing to complain about. They have something for everyone. Myself and my wife and two other couples visited this resport in September of 2000. A few years ago, but I was looking at this site and thought I would give my two cents worth. We thought that since we were going to a foreign country where poverty levels could be quite high, we should stick with a higher rated resort. My husband and I went to on July 12 to 19 to Breezes, Varadero. It is September now and my head is still in the clouds because of our wonderful holiday. The resort was a lot more then we expected. The only problems was we could not have the lights on, air conditioning going and the coffee pot or a fuse would break. That was a minor inconvenience.
