Atlantis Royal Towers reviews

Apr 2012, kmp

My family and I stayed at Atlantis Royal Towers in celebration of our parents' 40th wedding anniversary. It was a special occasion so we chose something that was beyond what we'd normally do on vacation. Lots of different ages in our groups -- kids of different ages, some... more

Please heed the warnings of this horrible resort!!!
My husband and I recently stayed at the Atlantis hotel – Royal Towers – for 5 nights. Instead of writing a review or trip report; I am attaching a letter that I have sent to the principles at the Atlantis. I will continue to post this letter weekly on every travel related web site – until I get a response from the Atlantis. Then I will post the response. This resort is the PITS!! I went with a completely open mind hoping to prove the critics wrong!! What a mistake – I should have taken the negative reviews more seriously. I am... more
Can't Wait to Go Back!!
AWESOME, AWESOME, AWESOME!!!!!!! Just got back from 5 days in Atlantis. It is Paradise. Cannot understand some of the negative reviews I read before and after my trip. If you are worried about money, stay home!! This is a 5 or maybe 6-star resort and prices reflect that. You get what you pay for and I had a great time paying for everything!!!! Staff were ALL very friendly and helpful the whole time. Will remember my 25th anniversary with my wife for life thanks to Atlantis!!!!!
This hotel is super!
I dont know what some of you people are talking about, Giving this hotel bad reviews! This hotel is amazing. Dont listen to those people tourists!!! I went with my Family, and we had the time of our life! There is so much to do just in the hotel that you dont have to go anywhere else! You guys are complaining that you walk to much, well think of it, if you went anywhere else, you would have to either walk, or DRIVE! so save money on a car rental! It is very convnient to have iver 5 restaraunts on site, and have 7 pools with lots of slides.... more
Stay Away From This Place!!
I have traveled entensively to beach resorts and I have never been as disappointed as I was with this place. It is the biggest rip off in the world in my view. I have no problem with $600 a night and $15 hamburgers, I do have a problem with paying that for Holiday Inn/Ramada quality rooms and road side motel service with food that would not be served at Applebees. The aquariums and slides are nice but if you have a choice....STAY AWAY!! Go stay at a Ritz, Four Seasons, JW Marriott, Rosewood resort, etc.....just stay away from this... more
Great Trip but verrrry expensive
June 13, 2005 stayed at the Royal Towers East Wing. East wing closer to the the action than west wing. Had a 4th floor terrace room that looked out over the entrance of Royal Tower ($399 night). Room was nice and spacious. Large closet and bathroom had a separate toilet room. Upon arrival was greeted by friendly staff and had no problems checking in. As advised by previous reviews, left husband and kids with luggage and went ahead to check-out room. Seemed nice but toilet was dirty. Flagged down housekeeping and it was rectified by... more
Not worth the $$$
Spent a week in Atlantis for the 2004 New Year's. Paid around $600/night for a standard room in Royal Towers with a harbor view. Ridiculously expensive and crappy food. Impossible to get a place to eat within the Atlantis (and venturing off the Paradise Island is NOT an option) unless you make a reservation way in advance. Thank god that the new year's celebration was spent at the nearby One & Only Ocean Club. If you are planning on going to Paradise Island and have kids, then stay at Atlantis. If you're planning on going with your... more
Fun, Crowded, and not for honeymooners
First, if you are looking for a Honeymoon spot, stop reading and continue looking for an adult all inclusive. I reccommend Aventura Spa Palace all inclusive adult only. We stayed there last year for our honeymoon and loved it. We stayed 6/4 through 6/7 at Atlantis for my inlaws 50th wedding anniversary. Family of 12 including 8 adults and 4 18 or below. I will take you through the High and lows. We flew in from Charlotte and rented 2 limos to get us there (30 min). Not sure what a cab cost but there seemed plenty around and... more
Disappointed.
First off, I am aware that everyone has there opinion. And on that note my opinion is NOT A GOOD ONE. Our trip was 5/27/05-5/30/05 We arrived and was told that our room was not ready...(seeing previous postings, it appears that you get charged for late check out-) We were told to call back and get the room number-We called and were directly to a room was not clean and apparently still had the previous owners room cards and baby crib in it. After being on hold for ten minutes we got transferred to a room that had a nice view of... more
Beautiful
We stayed at the Atlantis Royal Towers back in Dec 2004. It's a beautiful hotel, the room was very nice, with a beautiful view, and was sparkling clean. The grounds and pool area were incredible, and very well kept. Pricey but beautiful!
Never go there!!
Let's start out nice. The hotel is a pretty Vegas-style themed megaplex and the aquarium was PHENOMINAL! They have this enormous Manta Ray the size of a king size bed. That's where it ends. Plain rooms, dirty pools, over-priced food and probably the rudest staff I've ever done business with. They just don't care. Part of it is because of the imposed 15% tip on everything, but mostly it's because of the hotel policies. Let me give you an example. I asked for a late check out, figuring at $350/nt that wouldn't be a problem. It wasn't... more
