Great place for the money
I spent 5 nights at the Wind Chimes. Staff was very pleasant and helpful. They were very interested in making my stay enjoyable. The room was always clean and opened to a pleasant courtyard. The pool would be a disappointment if you planned to spend much time there. However, with the beach just across the street, I'm not sure why you would want to spend time at the pool. If your flight comes in early or leaves late they will keep your luggage safe so you can enjoy your time. The inn was located on the edge of the tourist strip and a... more
Nice Staff, Reasonable Environment
The staff were friendly and helpful in arranging a rental car and chatting in general. The room was a little stuffy (we went in January) and the bathroom was small. You sat facing a wall and your legs almost touched the wall. The water sometimes took awhile to get hot - and one time didn't.We didn't have but one mosquito - I had read about that and was worried but no big deal. They do have screens. It is a little sleepy - there is a bar, but not much going on- which I prefer. It is about 8-12 blocks from most happening place.<br... more
Island of Enchantment
We spent part of our honeymoon in Puerto Rico, staying At the Wind Chimes in Condado Beach. What a great place! The people at the hotel (and the entire island) were wonderful, eager to please and the accomodations were faboulous! The entire of island of Puerto Rico is worth at least a 5-7 day visit to take it all in!
heaven
i find this inn top of the line. if you want the marriot stay there, but instead i found a staff excellent including alex so far . as the red ants from the lush foliage. spray the window in the bathoom which contacts out side. they provide and no problemo. the rooms are not spacious unless high line. but these rooms are comfotable. this feels like a home away from home that is why i have been there 4 times and will be back in april/ ask for room 5 ,but be prepared i will be in it in april.
A lovely spot
I read the wide range of reviews on this site of At Wind Chimes, and took note of the caution to ask for a renovated room. I did so, and had a perfectly wonderful stay. I was there for four nights in a beautiful double queen room on a second floor corner overlooking the pool (which is in fact very tiny). My room had high ceilings with overhead fans, beautiful tile floors, and was reasonably quiet (for being on a somewhat busy street). The bathroom was nice and I found the staff to be wonderful--very attentive and helpful. I'd recommend this... more
Wonderful Oasis in Puerto Rico!
We loved this hotel! My partner and I stayed at the Wind Chimes Inn for seven nights at Christmas time and really loved the hotel, for many reasons. The hotel staff was warm and friendly, room small but most comfortable, food and drink at the hotel bar & restaurant excellent, location terrific in hip and walkable Condado. There are many great features to the hotel, including a great pool, location, hours and laundry service (for $10 you leave your clothes in a heap and return to find them clean and folded neatly). We would highly recommend... more
Dissapointing
Excellent location and magnificent arquitecture. It was the perfect spot for a romantic vacation. However I have to point out a very dissapointing interaction with one of the employees, Alexandra. Unfortunately I have to say this changed the perception of my stay at this otherwise great hotel.
You will love this place if you know how to enjoy!
Stayed here in late October-had to write after reading others' bad reviews. This place is a block from a gorgeous beach-in walking distance of great restaurants and is full of charm and friendly people. The boat bar is a great hang out and the pool is refreshing. If you don't have a ball here-uh, please don't blame it on the inn!
Sometimes you get what you Pay for
I just returned from a week's vacation at this guesthouse. When you could find the staff (usually at the bar drinking and smoking) they were helpful, except only the front desk people speak English. I couldn't get the laundry person to understand I wanted a towel to go to the beach. It's a quiet neighborhood area with a few restaurants and the A5 bus to take you into Old San Juan is only a block away. Please be warned, if the sun doesn't shine you will NOT get a hot shower--it's all solar powered. The covered porch is nice, but bring your... more
Perfect trip for two kids on a budget!
My boyfriend and I stayed in PR for a long Columbus Day weekend vacation. For starters, we would recommend going during the "low season"- we only paid $75/nigt at our hotel, and $250/each for our round trip flights out of Newark, NJ. The weather was just about perfect (except for 1 day when it rained, and I mean RAINED), and there were just about no tourists swarming through the streets. If we had gone next month (during "high season"), we would have paid twice as much and been surrounded by tourists. We stayed at Wind Chimes Inn in Condado.... more
