Apartments Oro Playa

The Apartments were very clean and very nice to be in,I remember being in K13.I met a lot of new freinds and we all played tn the pool together the pool was a good size and there was a lovely veiw from the window and not far from the bus stop to go to Hidropark in Alicudia.I was impressed with the staffs english and the freindlyness and how they always remember you. Just back from apartments Aug 10. Family of four, children 13 and 10. Great position, one minute to beach and reataurants yet on a quiet back street. Rooms fairly basic but clean and all close to pool. Entertainment varied with some good shows (Elvis very funny and african acrobats amazing).Reception staff very helpful. Coco the entertainer was brilliant for the children, especially teenagers as kept them entertained with loads of activities daily including rifle shooting, water polo, darts, ping pong and pool. Also adult activities. Pool lovely. Would go back to these apartments again but found eating out quite expensive (poss same in other resorts now though)so would probably opt for somewhere half board.

As a family of six with elderly parents and 2 kids we love the ora playa, the staff are very attentive, the appartments basic but comfortable, and its location just across the road fom the beach is excellent. A good size pool and great entertainment. We cannot recomend it highly enough.

just spent a week at oro playa hotel apartments,really enjoyed the time there,clean and tidy,fantastic staff, coco was brillant and a great and a natural entertainer.so good we are booking 2 weeks at the oro playa again this year in september 2010.only 200 metres to the beach-front and restaurants / bars etc.

We, a family of four, stayed at the Oro Playa for one week. We found the staff to be pleasant and helpful, and the entertainment was OK. Our main complaint was the state of the accommodation. The rooms - and indeed the hotel - are in desperate need of renovation. We expected our room to be basic - but not to be shabby. The bathroom was especially tatty, with a rusty bath and deeply soiled shower curtain. The whole place suffers from a feeling of neglect. This could be remedied by a programme of refurbishment. I would not recommend staying there in its present state.

Apartments are very dated and poorly maintained. First impressions were of dead vegetation in the dirty concrete window boxes on the balconies on the first and second floor. To work the a/c we had to bang the patio doors to activate a sensor pad. The patio doors were very badly fitted and didn't lock (a small hook had been applied as only way of securing it). The concrete stairwells and dirty plastic canopy/roof areas spoilt the look of the place. The rooms are very old fashioned and in need of refurbishment but were clean and bed linen / towels were fine. Sun loungers were stacked and chained and locked and only released at 9am so it was very degrading having to experience a "bun fight" every morning for the sunbeds. It was supposed to be a 3* star but more like a 2*star.

We have stayed at the Ora Playa many times and find them excellent value for money.Okay the furnishing may be a little dated but you can expect that for the price.The staff are very friendly and polite and deal with any problems promptly.The apartments are kept clean with towels changed regularly.The entertainment doesn't go on too late for those who like an early night.The apartments are in a great location ,only a couple of minutes to the seafront.Would recommend the Ora Playa to anyone wanting clean,basic accomodation at a very reasonable price.The Trio restaurant next door and the Tots in town do excellent meals.

I booked this holiday in October 2007 and felt a little worried when I saw some of the comments regarding these apartments. I shouldn't have been! The apartment was extremely clean, in good condition and well equipped. The maids came in every other day during our two week stay, changing towels, making beds etc. There were a few ants on the balcony (not worth mentioning) but none in the living areas.
All the staff were extremely helpful and courteous. Cannot comment on the food there but the drinks were no more expensive than in town and the supermarket on site was reasonable.
The late entertainment was good and, even though we had no children, Coco was very entertaining for everyone!
The apartments are in a good location for the beach, restaurants and all facilities.
Puerto Pollensa is a great place to stay and if you do not wish to hire a car to see the island (as we didn't) you can go anywhere on the island with a very efficient and regular bus service.
Hopefully returning to Puerto Pollensa and the Oro Playa next year.

I had been wary about this accommodation with it being a 2* and having read some reviews but it was better than expected.Rooms were clean and maids came in several times during our week stay but we did have a problem with ants,especially in the bathroom,they seemed to get everywhere but we dont know where they were coming from.A spray from the supermarket done the job though so they didnt last.
The staff were very nice and the location was great,just a couple of minutes from the Pine walk and square.
The mini disco for the kids looked good fun,and the complex was family orientated but dont let that put you off if you dont have kids with you.
The apartment was really just a base for us so we didnt spend all our time there but all in all it is a nice wee complex.

We were also very surprised with the terrible reviews as we very much enjoyed our holiday to the oro playa apartments. Our two daughters 10 and 13 made lots of friends. We enjoyed great entertainment in the evening, and there were activites for the children during the day as well as a kids club for the younger children. We enjoyed great meals out in the surrounding restaurants , we very much recomend the tango, great food lively atmosphere and usually live music. The apartments , were very clean , and luckily no ants!! We had a pool view whereas the family we went with had to endure the view of the car park! The staff were very helpful and coco and nemo the clown provided fantastic entertainment for the children! Overall a fantastic holiday!!
