Paradise
We spent 10 days in January 2009 at Anantara Veli Resort & Spa for our Honeymoon and it exceeded our expectations. The Maldives is Paradise, the resort was excellent, the service was the best. We absolutely fell in love with this place. White sand and clear blue sea and you'll see amazing Fish so take a camera. We stayed in a Deluxe Overwater Bungalow and the view was breathtaking. The main difference between the Over water bungalow and the deluxe one is they are slightly larger with a dressing room, larger baths and a lower sunbathing... more

our travel agent had recently returned from Anatara and told us we must stay there for our honey moon,we are so ,so gald we accepted his recomendation Anantara look after 3 small islands fairly close to each other all are connected via water taxis that run ever 20 mins ,it a great place to stay ,you have the choice of restaurnts which is good you could go(and we did0 with out really seeing another person we returned 1 week ago we stayed for 10 days and it was fantastic fro mthe moment we arrived(in the rain)the island has a... more
Anantara is an amazing resort
We spent 4 days on the Veli Island in an overwater bungalow. There were 3 Islands one was a privite island the other you took a short boat trip to or in the day you can canoe. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The standard of our bunglow was fantastic we looked out over a coral reef and there was always fishes swimming around and the odd reef shark. We used the over water spa and the treatments and ambiance were amazing, I would reccommend the experience. The weather was a mixture of sun and storms and it... more
A slice of paradise
We arrived at Anantara by speedboat on the 1st June 2008 to the sound of the drums slowly beating and a welcome party with lemon frangranced cold flannels. After a 10 hour flight this was a beautiful sight. We were taken to a place where we were able to have a shower, then shown to our Deluxe Overwater Bungalow (no 132 which is Sunrise side). We had spent many hours pouring over internet websites attempting to make a decision where to stay in the Maldives as the 2 week holiday was our Honeymoon. We were not disapppointed when we entered our... more
Absolutely Fantastic
We have just returned from this resort after spending 2 glorious weeks on one of 3 islands the Anantara operate. The island we stayed on has now been renamed "Veli" and Bodu Huraa as it was formerly known is no more. The main island is called "Dhigu" and the smallest of the 3 islands is called Naladhu which is a stunning 6* private resort. Most of the 50 bungalows are fairly private and we were lucky to have bungalow 168 which meant we weren't really overlooked unless people were out snorkelling or kayakking near our bungalow. We had... more
Not worth the money
This hotel just didn't live up to anything. It wasn't terrible per se, but terrible considering the price. First off, when booking people should know that they now have an additional island. When booking an over water bungalow or a deluxe over water bungalow, please note that if you are put on this island you will not have and privacy as the bungalow decks all look onto each other. Also, you will have neither a sunset OR a sunrise from your deck, as you are blocked by neighbors on both sides. Also, when booking spa... more
My 2 cents of the Anantara @ Bodu Huraa
After a long research period and several phonecalls and emails, my wife and I settled on Anantara @ Bodu Huraa for our Honeymoon in March at Half Board. There were many varied reviews on this website when we were researching our trip, they went a long way to help us decide what to do and we thank you all, but the best advice had to be from Caroline our travel agent. (www.stylishresorts.com) For some background into our tastes, my wife and I are both doctors, we live in the UK and travel abroad 3-4 times a year on average, we tend... more
Beautiful Bodu Hurra
We've returned recently from our honeymoon at Anantara (Bodu Hurra), completely relaxed and happy with our experience. We noticed some negative comments in the forum prior to leaving which caused us some concern however our stay was fantastic. We stayed in a standard over the water bungalow which was exactly what I wanted. The web site doesn't have many interior pictures of them but they are very comfortable and recently updated. Bathroom fittings are modern and the only difference I could see from the deluxe was that the bath didn't... more
Top honeymoon destination
We spent few days of our honeymoon at Ananatara resort and spa. This place is like a paradise on earth. It looks like an airbrushed cliché from a holiday brochure of your most pushy travel agent-but it is in fact naturally beautiful. The staff is very polite and attentive; the garden villa we stayed at was spacious, magnificently furnished and with an outdoor shower and a bath tub as big as a small swimming pool. Everything on the island was chic and elegant but in a very subtle way. There was an extensive choice of water sports equipment... more
relaxing stay at Bodhu Hurrah
We had a wonderful trip to Anantara this January, and i am happy to recommend the smaller of the three resorts - bodhu hurrah. If you are into relaxed and quiet surroundings, this is your place. The management, staff and facilities are all great and strive to be helpful. Try to get one of the furthest out over water bungalows as the view is much better. The facilities in the deluxe over water are up to date (flat panel, ipod cord for sound system, wifi) and extremely clean and comfortable. You can snorkel off of your dock, or... more
