I have just stayed in a static caravan in Cleethorpes and had the worst experience of static caravans in over forty years of using statics. Maybe by using a yard stick such as the recent stay at the White Cross bay could be construed as being a bit unfair, but why not? the... more

Great Lodge in a great location, walks by the lakes or up the mountains for the more adventurous right from your doorstep - it doesn’t get any better. White Cross Bay also has a brilliant dog walk

A Fantastic holiday! from beckybolton
White Cross Bay is a fantastic holiday park, nice site, great location, helpful staff. We stayed there in one of their hire fleet which had everything we needed. There was lots to do within the park - play areas for the kids, a sports court, restaurant, bar, a swimming pool and an arcade. It is near to all the main attractions in the Lake District so you don't have to travel far for other things to do. The staff were very helpful and polite and kept the park looking great at all times. We'll definitely be back.

I can hardly believe the lack of critical reviews of this facility. We all expect to be had over a barrell with Lake District prices, but we should also expect a certain standard, especially from somewhere which assigns itself five stars. How do they justify such a jumped-up claim? - surely not with the overflowing dog bins, poor cleaning, missing lights and headboards... Our basic ('classic') lodge had dried pasta and rubble behind the toilet, spattered grease on the cooker, a 2ft 6" mattress on a 3 ft bed frame, only one headboard... more

White Cross Bay is our flagship four star holiday park and boasts the best choice of facilities which are enjoyed by many holidaying guests and private members throughout each season. White Cross Bay is situated in a prime location of the Lake District with superb facilities and accommodation which are reflected in our prices. All our marketing and promotional literature clearly describes all the different categories of lodges and caravans at all our holiday parks and if indeed the accommodation was not up to the expected standard and we were made aware of it at the time, every attempt would have been made to rectify the issues or indeed offer alternative accommodation elsewhere on the holiday park. We treat all comments seriously and share them with our staff so we able to act on them accordingly and resolve any issues as soon as we are made aware of them

Great few days in the Lakes from apwjg
Having never travelled to the Lake District before we choose White Cross Bay as a base for our 5 days in the Lakes (from their website) and it was superb. The staff were very friendly and helpful throughout our time there. We had a deluxe lodge and as a previous review stated it was more than comfortable. Lovely interior and comfy beds. Short stroll to the lake. We found the park to be very clean and tidy and our boys loved the multi sports court. Excellent base for family break from rajec
We have just returned from a week staying in a super deluxe lodge at White Cross Bay. We found the park and the facilities to be very good. The swimming pool was a hit with our children (although the changing rooms are somewhat pokey). We ate in the restaurant one evening and we were pleasantly surprised - the usual holiday park menu, but this time well cooked and home made. Would recommend this park as a base for exploring the lakes.

Visited White Cross Bay last week with 3 generations of family. We were in a deluxe lodge which was a very high standard. The terrible floods during the winter meant we benefitted from 2 newly refurbished 3 bed lodges. They really are like proper homes. Decent sized kitchen and dining with all of the equipment you need. Lounge with 2 leather sofas and a flat screen TV on the wall. There were regularly 8-10 of us in the living space and never felt too small. The bedrooms were compact but comfy beds... and you only ever sleep in them really.... more

Stayed here during a beautiful week in march, the park had a lot of work going on to improve the site: The good and bad things were: Good: Heating in accommodation was excellent considering how cold it was at night. Free tea and coffee making facilities were available. Seating was very comfortable.
