Melas Lara Hotel

Just came back from Antalya/Lara. We stayed at the Melas and a wonderful time. Who cares if it was stormy outside. With all the facilities indoors you almost never know what is going on outdoors. Room was standard with a bath/jacuzzi, giant bed, LCD tv. If you could find a minus it would be the construction next to the hotel but thats Antalya. Because of the new law in Turkey, no one was smoking inside. The hotel is clean, spacious. I could on and on but you get the picture. My husband and I recently returned from this hotel and thoroughly enjoyed our weeks stay. Food was fantastic, rooms immaculate. We would definitely go back to this hotel but not in February as the weather was awful, but even that did not dampen our holiday. We made use of the sauna, steam room and turkish baths as well as the indoor pool.

Wow, what a lovely entrance. Upon arrival, no problem registering in and the bellboy delivered our cases to our room. The room itself was superb, clean and modern. Toiletries supplied, bathrobes supplied, mini-bar free, safe deposit box in room and free. There was building work going on next door (which we were advised of when booking) but the hotel were allocating rooms on the other side from the building work so it didn't really bother us at all. Just returned from this hotel. I do strongly agree with previous comment about guest relation. She's not helpful , tuff and didn't wanna know anything if you need some help. 5 star hotel but in bed room hasn't got any a box of tissue if you make a mess you have to use the toilet roll wipe it instead. Some of the parents who use this hotel as holiday break with the kids have no responsibility for their kids . They run around the hotel with no control while parents were spending time in the bar.. fab hotel maid service exel very cleen the main problems are guest relations dont want to know.when something runs out they dont replace it in the pasteria bar or restarunt the bar staff ignore you when you wait for a drink if you are of another country no prob be very carfull when you go for a meal you can get up to go for your second cource and some other people take your table with the blessing of the restraunt staff if you say any thing they just use the old excuse no comprende we have been coming to turkey for 27years 1st time to this... more

over New Years Holiday 2009/2010 Beautiful new facility. The lobby is huge with many comfortable areas to sit and use the free wireless. No wireless availble above the lobby but you can use the internet for a fee. Naturally, it’s an unsecured wireless connection so be sure to scan everytime you disconnect. I had picked up an intrusion but my virus protection handled it. Personnel are friendly, multi-lingual and curious. They always have time to chat and offer tips or advice. This is a Holiday location for people that like to laze about all day and do nothing. the area is very poor for aminities out side of the hotels and if you do venture out every shop tries to rip you off ie £10 for a pair of flip flops, also taxi's are very very expensive. The hotel itself was very clean as you would expect from a new 5 star hotel, there was a very good choice of food all day long, ie 6 different chioces of eggs for breakfast. the service was also very good with plenty of staff on duty and we found them very helpful. Just returned from 2 lovely weeks at Melas Lara. Location: On Lara Beach, a couple of mile strip ok luxury 5 star hotels with a couple of shopping malls and bazaars. A couple of bazaars within walking distance but taxis can be pick up for about 10tl. Money: Everything is priced in euro,but ask for the price in lira as it works out a little bit cheaper. Shops ask for euros as they get a better price when they exchange to Lira. Dolmus buses are about 1.40tl pp where ever you want to go. That's what it seemed to me, correct... more

We were 9 women and two children on this holiday to Melas Lara. Could not fault the food at all. It was fantastic and there were two specialised restaurants also. Fish one great, not so keen on the Turkish one. Better food in the main restaurant. Lovely looking hotel and fab rooms. Very modern and comfortable. Unfortunately we were the only group of English people there. Waiting staff lovely but reception staff were rather rude and not particularly helpful at all. When we saw this hotel was only opened in April 2009, and we couldn't find any reviews, we were a little reluctant but it was a good decision. Service was fantastic, most staff could speak a little english, other than reception staff. Bar/Restaurant/Poolside/domestic staff very friendly and helpful.
