Iberostar Grand Hotel El Mirador reviews

9 / 10
May 2012, Peartree people

We are here at Gran Mirador now...it is glorious! We have a lovely (upgraded!)suite on the Balconada area..with a private pool shared among about a dozen suites. The room is very spacious, lovely seaviews & sunbeds are best ever! Pools are not deep, but seem a little cool... more

What a pity so nearly so good!
El Mirador certainly has 5 star location and facilities but somehow just manages to just miss giving that complete satisfaction. The location is great with views directly over the ocean and easy access to the beach and sea front walks. The pool and gardens are well laid out and provide relaxing and quiet sunbathing and swimming. Junior suite was great with good views and comfortable beds and ample bathroom and storage with small balcony and good views. But the aircon did not work. We told reception at least 4 times although... more
nice place for a winter break
ive been to Tenerife many times and this is a really nice part of the island and a nice place to say the hotel is pleasantly relaxed and not fussy .... but the services is friendly and efficient the location is right by the beach and is ideally situated the hotel boasts a few pools .. salt water i think .. a gym and squash courts.. when checking out they allowed us to stay in the room for another six hours.. a good sign methinks all in all a nice stay!
Fabulous - & it's just been made adult only - already booked for next year
This is a fabulous hotel in a fantastic location - if you want privacy, peace & quiet & just to get away from it all then this really is the hotel for that. The rooms are all devine & immaculately clean, the evening turn down service is sweet, but it is to be expected from a hotel of this calibre. We did have a couple of niggles whilst staying there but nothing major - 2 chefs where unable to cook poached eggs on 2 seperate occassions(annoying but not the end of the world), the waiting staff where either very good or just... more
Proper 5 star - (nearly)
Very lovely stay, rooms and food excellent, and service first class. Pool and gardens exceptional and in a beautiful area. Thanks to new starter Ryan for all your help (Iberostar management note he will be an asset for you) Just 2 small niggles that does note quite rate it full 5 stars for me. 1) TV needs to be lcd/plasma and have greater selection of channels, Pay TV and free Internet. 2) Spa facilities are at sister Anthelia hotel which is 15 minute walk or 4 euro taxi ride. However, we would have walked it over and... more

5 star faulty towers!
there were four adults and seven children split over four rooms for one week over christmas. the hotel had just been taken over (which we were not informed about before we went) there were TEN staff for 110 guests. the hotel is beautiful. the bedrooms were spacious and beautifully furnished with lovely toiletries/bathrobes/fruit/wine and iced biscuits on arrival. the pool area is a delight. the staff were doing triple shifts as the hotel had just been taken over! the waiters were also the bellhops/concierges/recetionists/barmen, the... more
Very relaxing... Nothing to do for the kids
El Mirador Gran Hotel was a very peaceful holiday except there is nothing to do for the kids apart from the swimming pool. The bartenders and waitresses took a while to give the orders when not even busy but they were quite friendly. The gym was good and the pool was excellent. The price was quite expensive for drinks and food. If you discover down the promenade on the beach their is lovely shops and restaurants. The holiday was very relaxing but there was nothing to do for the kids.
Could be fantastic but lots of small problems to iron out first
I went to the Iberostar El Mirador Gran thanks to a special offer I received. The promotional material I received made it out to be a brand new hotel which as many people will know it is not. Iberostar have purchased the old annexe from Bahia Del Duque and market it as its own hotel now. It also states that there is an oriental themed restaurant - It doesnt! Good Points The food at the hotel's own restaurants was fantastic - breakfast, lunch and evening Housekeeping also excellent - the room was kept spotless Views - some... more
super plush hotel
Great Hotel. Food wonderful, especially breakfasts. Pool icy cold until 2 days before we left. Maintainence work going on which we were not informed about when booking or checking in was a nuisance. Lovely grounds, very select. Staff wonderful in dining room, a little bit sooty/unfriendly at main desk. Upgraded to suite with use of VIP pool, pricy but very special and private. Super location with amazing view of beach. Great clean rooms, dressing gowns, slippers, flowers, complimentary water. Would go back in a flash but spoilt with suite... more
Peace and quiet
This hotel used to be a little "annexe" of the larger Gran Hotel Bahia del Duque, and has recently broken away and is now "managed" by Iberostar. We live in Tenerife and went for 1 night to celebrate a birthday. What can I say? The standard rooms are a good size there is no need to have a suite in my opinion. You get a lounge area with good size sofa, small walk in wardrobe, huge bathroom, nice balcony or terrace and most rooms have a sea view. We had a room on 4th floor and the views of Del Duque beach were stunning. Buffet dinner was... more
