Had a great holiday in this hotel and cannot think for the life of me why anyone could fault it! Let me get my grumpy head on first and try to put a few things right - OK the Hotel is a bit out of town but this is stated in any brochure and should not be a surprise to... more

My wife and I have just returned from a 2 week stay at the Iberostar Papagyo. We were pleasantly surprised by the speed of the reception staff in allocating us our room on arrival. We had asked for a pool/seaview and got both although our room was just above the bar.... more

Dont expect too much
I booked this hotel according to excellent reviews, but was a little disapointed. Its good for the money you pay, but dont expect more that an average 4 star. Talked to few other people in the hotel, and judge it like: 4 star for the hotel, 5 star for the staff and 3 star for the food. The food - you always got the same staff, some of it very good some really very bad.... Maybe if I wasnt expected too much, I would have been better safisfied....
Great Hotel for a relaxing holiday.
After booking this hotel from the reviews & forum advice given on Trip Advisor, My Fiance and I were extremely pleased with this lovely modern hotel. We have just returned from a very pleasant and relaxing 11 nights staying on an All Inclusive basis. You can't go wrong with this option and definately get more than your money's worth before the end of your holiday what with having Breakfast, lunch and dinner, coffees and drinks during the day and all evening. All local branded drinks are included in this option and if you prefer a glass of... more
fantastic hotel delivers all it promises and more 5* rather than 4*
visit this hotel with no worries. Forget all the others this is the best by far. In over 25 years of travel I have never given a review or been bothered to fill in the questionnaire. My visit to this lovely place has encouraged me to tell others about it. The rooms are very spacious, try and get a pool view, its not noisy and the lower level rooms have sunbeds which get the sun until about 1pm. Dont bother with a towel for the pool they are provided and can be changed every morning at reception. Do bother with a car if you like to see... more
Lovely Hotel, friendly staff, a bit far from anywhere
Since I used TripAdvisor to choose this hotel for a holiday I thought I ought to put something back. The Iberostar is a modern, smartly-designed medium-sized hotel perched on the south coast of the island. We found it a little windy by the pool (we went at Easter) but the sea view from the balcony was magnificent. The staff are friendly and efficient, and you could sit in the lobby all day watching them switch effortlessly between English, Spanish and German. It's accessible for the disabled and we saw at least three wheelchair users on... more
Good all-round hotel
We have just returned from a week all-inclusive at the Iberostar Papagayo. The hotel has good facilities and the sea-view rooms are well worth the extra giving a view of the Papagayo beaches close-by and Fuerteventura on clear days. The pool is large and has two areas containing jacuzzi style seats and loungers. Entertainment was provided nightly by the animacion team taking it in turns with professional bought in acts. There was also a lolly-pop disco for the kids. The animacion team did an excellent job of keeping you... more
Fantastic Holiday
We travelled to Lanzarote in mid April and we had a really lovely time. We arrived at the airport and as we didnt have transfers we had to get a taxi - there were a lot so no need to wait. It cost about €35 to get to the hotel. The hotel itself is beautiful; pool area is clean and child friendly with 2 childrens pools and lifeguards on duty. The reception area is also nice for relaxing. The bar and restuarant are fab. The food is varied every night and they have a great selection. I am vegetarian and even I was pleased with the... more
A really nice hotel.
We stayed here for a week at the beginning of April after reading the reviews on this site and were not disappointed. The hotel is a little out of the way but I think that adds to its charm, it's only a short walk or a 3 euro taxi ride into Playa Blanca. I agree with previous reviews that it is definitely worth going for the All Inclusive option, the food is fabulous, very varied and has something for every taste; certainly the best buffet food we have ever encountered whilst on holiday. We had great fun watching various people trying... more
Great Food
We stayed at the Iberostar Papagayo in February 2006. The room was excellent, and we were half-board, although we did opt for all-inclusive on one day (you could pay a daily rate). We ate loads of food, as there was a good choice and plenty of variety whether you were an adventurous diner or not. There is a small fitness suite, and a spa with jacuzzi's steam rooms etc., and an excellent masseur (there are charges for these, although reasonable compared to UK). Our only grumble about the hotel really was the lack of English channels... more
Nice, relaxing hotel
This hotel is a very good standard of accomodation and worthy of its 4 stars. The plus points - The food is good there is plenty of choice - perhaps a little more geared towards the germans but you can always find something to eat. There is a huge choice on the salad bar alone and usually a choice of 5/6 desserts and icecream as well as biscuits and cheese if desserts are not your thing. The hotel is very friendly and the staff are excellent we never had to wait to be served at a bar even during busy periods. The cleaning... more
One of the best holiday hotels
We arrived home 2 weeks ago and we are still glowing with warmth towards our hosts at the Iberostar Papagayo. Our only complaint was at having to leave, although Els and Danni on reception insisted that we were leaving of our own free will and were welcome to stay on. This is the only hotel where I have sought out the Manager to offer my appreciation. Unlimited good and varied food and drink on the days we chose to be upgraded to fully inclusive (yes you can fix that with the hotel when there); clean, comfortable rooms - and then... more
