Sun Village Resort & Spa Hotel

The hotel and staff were fantastic we would definately go again.
Just not with Cosmos
we never saw our rep. she or he did not make contact when they failed to turn up for the rep meeting and I had to make phone calls to find out about our pick up time for flights home
BUT I could not fault the hotel and staff at all. The most wonderful relaxing holiday I could ever wish for. If you get a chance to go do it is well worth it.
Luxury plus is how I would describe it. 20/10.

We had an excellent 2 weeks. Very impressive lobby. Our room was spacious with a huge king size bed. The swimming pools were lovely and there were 7 to choose from.
Though there were a few steps around the resort which isn't ideal if you're not very mobile.
Food was good, with a very large choice from the buffet for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The a la carte restaurants were nice, but the Italian was definitely the best. 24 hour bar and late-night snacks included.
All the staff were extremely friendly and couldn't do enough for you. We had a great time and would definitely go back.

Went for my honeymoon and we couldn't have picked a better resort.
The hotel leads on to the beach where there's a bar and jacuzzi on the beach! Plenty of choice for food and 6 pools to choose from as well, including an adult only pool.
Lots for kids to do as well so recommended for families. A lot of people were being transferred to our hotel from their own hotels due to problems with food and overall quality; people were even being transferred from the Hilton!
Would definitely go again, entertainment staff were excellent and had some hilarious shows!

We have recently returned from the paradise that is the Sun Village. We ended up in this hotel almost by accident (since we'd originally booked for the Bahia Principe San Juan) Was it a happy accident or was it a happy accident!! We really don't think we could have done better.
Our room was gorgeous (superior) and we very much enjoyed the "prettied" up towels etc., and the VIP turndown service we had on our wedding anniversary was lovely. We had a problem with the fan in the room, we rang up they sent someone down to fix it within 10 minutes. Then we couldn't get the TV to change channels properly - again it was fixed within 10 minutes.
The food was brilliant, the drinks were first class and more than plentiful (and full strength too). The staff were so friendly, they couldn't do enough for us. We met some of the hotel owners and they too were just anxious for everyone to have as good a time as possible.
We were there for 2 weeks and we didn't manage to go in all the pools! We did have a lovely session of pure indulgence in the Spa which was absolute HEAVEN! I was so chilled out..
The animation crew are great fun and are on the go from morning till late at night (I don't know where they get all the energy from!)
Of special note are Joel from the Management team, Denny in the Malibu restaurant and Rudy and Mr Happy Happy from the Animation team. Each of them played their part in making our holiday extremely memorable and we are eager to return.

We just came back from paradise: we had a wonderful 2 weeks in Sun Village! It is so beautiful: 7 magnificent pools, very lush gardens, beautiful bungalows... and everything is so clean and well-kept.
We had booked 1 superior room and 1 standard room, but were upgraded immediately to 2 superior rooms; these are comfortable and spacious, but quite simple. From the big balcony you have a wonderful view.
All the people at the resort were extremely kind and helpful, especially towards our 3 young children.
We experienced some problems with our balcony door and with the safe, but that was fixed within 1 hour, and as compensation we got a serious discount for the Spa.
Food was very, very good in all the restaurants. You could go to the 3 speciality-restaurants without reservation; we especially liked the Citrus restaurant (the Italian): the food there was really delicious.
The only disadvantages of Sun Village: there are lots of stairs, and you can't avoid them. And the evening entertainment is boring, they should really do something about this and organise it more professionally!

Well to start, the pools are absolutely amazing and the beach was gorgeous the sand was so soft and the sea was clear blue it was absolutely adorable.
I will definitely be going back there it is the holiday of a life time and I could say it was paradise.
I would also recommend you to swim with the dolphins at ocean world as we did it is great it was an experience of a lifetime also the food was out of this world!!!

I would recommend this holiday to any families or young couples so go to the sun village for a holiday of a lifetime

Booked last minute, arrived at airport to find they don't even have us on their guest list, so they made us wait in the pouring rain for about 30 mins, while every body else was on the coach. Arrived at hotel, not on their guest list, so waited another 30 mins, not a good start to our honeymoon! Buy the way no upgrade for honeymoon couples at all even though hotel was only half full. Rooms basic but clean, maid service first class.
Buffet style meals in main dining hall superb & waiter drinks service first class. Resort clean and tidy, staff friendly. Entertainment basic and finishes around 10:30 pm even though place is buzzing with happy holiday makers. Has a disco but unfortunately it is still lost in the 1970's era, furnishings and decor, although goes on till early morning, shame really for a company who are well known for entertainment.
Weather brill for this time of year but watch out for those short rain showers.7 lovely pools and the beach Jacuzzi next to the bar (paradise).
P.s. Make sure you book return seats in middle to front of the plane as duty free runs out after this. They won't tell you that in the brochure.

Second time we have been. Absolutely fab. Miss Maxim 2006 final photo shoot was there, we all had great time.
Met the owners Mr. Elliot and his wife. They very nice and very approachable. They are very down to earth people and just want your stay to be a perfect as they could make it.
Would recommend sun village as a very relaxing chilling holiday with no worries at all.

I have traveled all over the World 9 times. Got married in I believed to be the best place on earth. But then we found the Sun Village. It took us days to find all & pools. It is the next best thing to your own Island.
It has all a family needs to have fun we took our little girl only 1 year old and our son 8 and they both had just as much fun. It has fast food restaurants (pre Cooked), and also cooked to order, or 4 book-able restaurants. Many themed food nights Bars all over the place from the beach to the main reception, even in the pools, 3 of the pools are linked by water falls. Can only say when you go once you will go again and again.
We have rebooked 25th August 2006. We have never been to the same Hotel twice, in our many years of traveling we started in (1978).

We booked a ridiculously cheap late deal and could not believe our luck - this place is pretty close to paradise.
Our Superior room was huge with everything you need and more plus an 8ft bed! The resort which is set in 24 acres and next to Ocean World is fantastic for young and old couples (not so good for OAP's or those with mobility probs as there are a lot steps!) and fab for children as the Entertainment Crew are hilarious and so friendly they made our holiday.
The 7 pools are huge and wonderful and you can even sunbathe on loungers set in a shallow part of the pool so your feet stay cool!
Food is good with lots of options and even pizza, burgers and chips if you want but it is cooked their way in different oils to good old blightly so the breakfasts aren't traditional. A La Carte's are good so try them all - after all if you don't like it you can go back to the buffet afterwards!
Jacuzzi on the beach is lovely especially with a cocktail in hand! The entertainment is basic but OK and the comedy show is definitely worth a look as we were in hysterics laughing and crying! Flip flop clog dancing was not our thing though but we had a fun time all the same!
Overall we loved the place and despite falling on wet stairs and breaking my elbow and wrist on Day 4 or 14 I cannot wait to go back to get the most out of the place.
It states 3 star and it is just that so please go and try it for yourself and I hope you have half as nice time as we did.
