Hotel Son Sant Jordi

We have just returned from a very pleasant 4 night stay at the Son Sant Jordi in Pollenca. This is a charming small hotel right in the centre of Pollenca, which we think is the nicest town on the island - very traditional and unspoilt. If you're looking for pazzazz and night life don't go to Pollenca! We however, are 2 middle aged codgers who just want to chill and eat good food - Il Giardino and C'an Costa are extremely good eateries, both less than a 5 minute flat stroll from the hotel. We booked this hotel from their website and the rooms depicted appear FAR larger than they are. Having said that the room was very pleasant and tastefully decorated. We arrived on Monday when the restaurant is closed and after a few teething problems (no phone in room as shown, no cold drinks available to buy) enjoyed our stay. The staff are very helpful and the area pretty and only a short walk to two squares full of bars & restaurants. The pool is gorgeous and grounds well kept. The hotel was reasonably comfortable for a four star but not on a par with many other four star hotels I have stayed in on the island. Breakfast was very average, a poor selection of fresh fruit, little cereal and a minimal choice of cooked food. The location is central but traffic noise in the evening made sleep difficult. When checking out you are offered discount if you pay in cash. This we did but we were overcharged by 95 Euros and the money was not refunded, so I would advise anyone to check their bill carefully and not to pay in cash.

A small oasis of calm just above the bustle of the main centre of the medieaval town of Pollenca and only 10 mins drive from the Port.. The rooms are beautifully decorated and the garden and pool are lovely. Parking and finding your way round the tiny cobbled streets is a bit of a challenge but the town is too small to ever park to far away. We have just returned from Mallorca where we stayed in the Hotel Son Sant Jordi. We arrived by hire car through the narrow streets of Pollensa. The sun was shining and it was so warm. (stark contrast from a cold, wet and windy morning at Newcastle airport) The Hotel was easy to find and is set in a small square, where locals meet for coffee. We have recently arrived home from 2 weeks in Majorca staying at the Son Sant Jordi hotel. We initially booked for a week and booked another hotel in the south of the island for the second week. However, having arrived at the second hotel we decided that it was not what we were looking for (especially for the significant nightly rate) and so we rang the Son Sant Jordi and went back for a further week! We had a lovely stay at the Hotel Son Sant Jordi . The accomodationn was lovely, excellent food and the owners were very hospitable. Cann't wait to come back!

We stayed at the Son Sant Jordi for a week in April 2006. The old town of Pollensa is lovely and is a good mix of traditional Mallorcan culture with a moderate element of commercialised tourist-based businesses and restaurants. The hotel is in a great position being a short walk from the main square which is the hub of daytime and evening activity. We stayed in the San Jordi for 4 nights. The hotel in a lovely spot about 5 mins walk from the main square. We had a massive room which was very tastefully decorated. On two of the 4 nights we received complimentary wine/cava plus nibbles which we thought was a lovely touch. The hotel has a lovely peaceful garden (I would suggest that is a real bonus in the town) with a small swimming pool. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The Son San Jordi is a small eight bed oasis in almost the centre of Pollenca town, (the main square within a pleasant stroll) with beautiful and very well kept rooms, a friendly bar/restaurant and a small pool in a lovely enclosed garden of orange, lemon and cherry trees. All the staff where very friendly and extremely helpful and accommodating, which meant a lot when travelling with a 2 year old.
