Well what can I say, the best thing about the hotel was when we checked out! the reception staff were ignorant, did not want to help you at all. The room on the bottom floor (7 flights down) in the dungeon left a lot to be desired, dirty carpets poo on them, mould on the... more

We have just arrived home from a week in Royal Marin. As a group of 7 including a 14 month old child. On arrival we were told that the three rooms with balconys we had paid for were not available, and the cot for the baby wasn't possible. We got put down in the "dungeon... more

I booked this hotel as a 5 sun rated hotel for me and my wife for a cheap break.Trust me if we had paid £20 it would of been £19.99 to much.It would take to long to explain how bad it was,but if it was a prison cell in this country you would be complaining about your... more

I'm just back from the Royal Marin hotel. The hotel looked great from outside but we were greeted by a dissatisfied guest telling us not to go in as the hotel was crap and the food was worse. Our accomadation was a mini suite in the bowels of the hotel the windows looked... more

Great holiday, hotel a bit tired but nothing to worry about. Food was very good and something for everyone, 3 meals a day and another 2 snacks in the afternoon. Staff were brilliant, very helpful and friendly and took care of us in the hotel at meal times. Would go back there again. no problem. Fantastic weeks holiday, loved it.

Bit of Both really......
We stayed for two weeks at the hotel Medesa in September 2004 - we were first shown to an underground room with no window but were moved within a day when we asked to a room with a fab view over gumbet bay. The views from the hotel over the bay are remarkable and being up high in the hot Turkish sun was an advantage as we has cooling breezes all day. The walk into Gumbet wasn't too bad but back up the hill was a tad tiring to say the least!!! The rooms were average - but then having stayed in Turkey several times (once at a... more
very poor
It was the worst holiday i've ever had there is no way that you could give this hotel a 5* rating. The staff are rude and unhelpful the food was boring and minimal, we even got more money out the bank to buy food. To top the lot of we didn't even have a lock on our room door that ran in line with a footpath. Gumbet was fine but avoid the the medesa at all costs.
Pretty Good overall
I must say we embarked on our trip with much anxiety after reading reviews of this hotel. It seemed to get quite a hammering and having just returned I cannot understand many of the derogatory remarks made about this hotel. I think the problem rests in its 5 star rating. If you go there expecting a five star plush hotel offering Novo Cuisine then you are going to be a little disappointed. I would rate it a four star for hotel decor and facilities, but I would give it only three stars for food. In my opinion the food was pretty... more
Great Holiday
I Dont know if i should thank those who wrote damming reports about the Medesa Hotel we (my 73 year old mother myself and my wife both 47) Went to the Medesa Hotel on the 13th June 2005 this was our 6th visit to Turkey. The Medesa Hotel was excellent i tried to find fault with but i couldnt the food was great, the staff were always cleaning something, the place was imaculate. The facilitys were second to none the pool and surrounding area's was always very clean however this is the only hotel ive been to that alows you to use... more
A pleasant Suprise
After reading the reviews of this hotel we had some worries, but for what we paid we thought how bad can it be. Somewhere to lie our heads at night, food and drink included, with guaranteed fantastic weather. Met at airport by private transfer straight to the hotel, checked in easily enough considering the hour of the morning. Room was a little small but clean and air-conditioned. Food average, Drinks flowing, Music round pool could be a little loud, but we complained and it was turned down eventually, we ate out a few nights along the... more
great holiday
We have just came back from a week stay in the hotel medesa and thoroughly enjoyed it. The food was the only down side to the hotel as most of the choices were very basic. However if you like salad then this will not be a problem as there was plenty of that to choose from. The rooms we were given were great as they were spacious and clean with hot water, t.v e.t.c. The bar staff were the friendliest of people and the entertainment was good with a turkish night, karaoke and disco. In every hotel I have stayed in I can say without hesitation... more
loved the departure
Having Recently spent a week at this Hotel. I must say that it is in my opinion more like a 3 star, entertainment was almost non-existent, facilities very poor, and the food not very good we were all inclusive, but had to eat out most days, I would not recommend this hotel to anyone verdict very poor.
More a 3 star
on arrival at 00.30 were told no room key avaliable master key would not open door then were given a room where the only window looked out into the hallway, were told would get another room next day went to rec. at 10.00 told to come back at 12.00 at that time were told to come back at 13.00 when they finally gave us another room, all through the week 90% of the people we spoke to complained about their room, the food was not catered for the english (or is it just me who likes hot food) the staff were very good up to the managers who did... more
Excellant holiday , very relaxing
Upon arrival this holiday was great , we were given a full inventory of events and had our bags taken to our rooms, which where spacious and a view onto a path and flowerbeds , if an ideal view is required be sure to order a VIP room which looks over the sea. The weather was constantly in the 40's which meant a dip in the pool was essential. The pool was always clean and constant activities are available both in and around it at various times of the day. Food was available at all times of the day but the only slight compliant i had was that... more
Worst ever
This is no way a 5 star hotel, the highest I would rate it would be a 3 star and thats being generous. This all inclusive hotel is only part inclusive after 11p.m. you have to pay for drinks so take plenty of money because their prices are a rip off. the food food was awful we had to eat out every night. Don't use the phone it's £3.00 per minute. On the last day if you are on a night flight you have to pay an extra £10 to eat (if you can face it) and drink. And don't expect a courtesy room you won't get one. Don't bother asking the... more
