Suites Alba Resort & Spa

We loved our stay in Suites Alba - the suites were extremely comfortable and spacious, although the shower could be improved on. Service was exemplary, and very friendly. The nearby beach was lovely, with picturesque grottoes and caves....but it was hard to leave the beautiful salt water infinity pool. This is the place to just get back to normality. The whole place is so peaceful and relaxing. We wanted a week of total calm and we got it. The suites are lovely, the staff attentive to a fault and the whole experience is just one of peace in a world of mayhem. Wonderful walks, and the quiet is deafening! We will go back again and again.

Well, a lot of good things (and a great setting and nice courtyard) but too many poor things to justify the high price. Suite was very spacious and well equipped but shower was a disaster and the bath tiny. Why have DVD players in the suites but only 2 DVD's that you can borrow (both childrens) but they do have a lot of videos that no-one can use! Also amazingly the suites have well equipped kitchens (fridge, hob, microwave, dishwasher) but we have no plates, no cutlery and precisely 6 glasses. It was tempting to use the dishwasher! We had a wonderful time in the hotel because of - the lovely appartments (high standard and quality), - the good service, and - the lovely food (restaurant and room service, except for the salads). Would recommend it any time and return. We had a car which is absolutely necessary if you plan to see the Algarve.

Is a very nive hotel, the suites are fantastic, restaurant is good but a litle expensive and the location is beutiful. Is not near town and a litle bir isolated. For me is very good in summer time because the pool is nice, very calm and good for a relaxion holidays.

This hotel was okay. I am not sure that it is a five star hotel - food was not great. I have looked at other reviews and I feel that we certainly did not get same service. You need a car definitey. Nearby beach is lovely but hotel does not have dircet access you climb down side of hill-so be careful. Spa was okay. Most staff were friendly though.

We have just returned from a 7 day chritsmas break at the Alba Suites, the staff could not have been more helpful the managerss greeted us on arrival. The suites themselves are extremely luxurious with plasma tvs in each room and a dvd player in the lounge, luxury bed linen and a seemingly endless supply of towels. The suites are in a very remote location and you do need a hire car but it is very easy to get into carverio and armacao de pera 10 mins at most. My husband and I stayed in this hotel for 5 nights in October, unfortunately we got the worse weather you could possibly imagine in Portugal - we had solid rain for 4 days out of the 5!. We travel very frequently to sun locations throughout the year so this was a different holiday to what we had imagined. We arrived in Faro airport in the rain and decided to take a taxi to the hotel as in previous reviews it was stated that it can be difficult to find. It was! This was a mini break for us. One of the best places in our travels. A quiet oasis with nature all around. By the sea with beautiful gardens and fantastic panoramic views. Isolated from the madding crowd. The staff are top class and ready to answer any requests. The meals are simply delicious and do not suffer by being brought by room service if you fancy eating in. This is one of the best hotels in the world. It is beautifull, calm, with a perfect sea view, nice and amazing private beach with white sand and... oh my God... the spa..... it's something.....! Loved the food, the suite with 2 bedrooms and livingroom , the hospitality... everything. I recomend. And next year i'll back.
