Luna Alvor Village

We've been on the Algarve a few times, but not for a while. The Alvor Village is on the edge of the town, but is only ten minutes into the old town with all its bars and restaurants (but it's slightly uphill all the way back). There is a courtest bus running twice a day to the beach (free, but give a tip). Alvor itself is great, and the people are friendly. We were there for a relaxing week, so ate, walked around, enjoyed the beach, and took a couple of boat trips - one up-river to Silves (recommended). Most guests rented cars - easy to... more

hotel was what we expected very clean and modern. the staff were helpful,the rooms were cleaned on a daily basis but in a quiet location about a fifteen minute walk from the village. we were on bed and breakfast basis, breakfast was very good with plenty to choose from.also.. its a two hr drive from airport. the only downside to our holiday was tour operater globespan went bust and we had to pay our hotel again before we cud leave as the tour operater had not paid.

We stayed for a week in October having booked directly on the hotel website and as we booked a week prior to travelling we got an excellent "last minute" deal of 60 euro for the room incl breakfast for 2. Hotel is modern in decor, which is a nice change from some of the other Alvor hotels we've stayed in which were very dated in decor. just returned from a week at alvor village suites and can honestley say we were very pleased with what we found. we were given room on ground floor overlooking the pool which we thought was a much better option than the road facing other side of the hotel. we had b&b but if we visit again would probably not bother and cater for ourselves as the suites are very well equiped, and at the weekend we found the restaurant very busy as they seemed to cater for some local weekenders.We are a very fussy couple and felt fortunate that we were staying... more

I stayed at the alvor village suites hotel last september with my fiance and loved it. The hotel itself was clean, tidy and modern. I would say if you were a couple without a family this is the hotel for you - the village centre is around a 10 - 15 min walk away from the hotel dependant on your age and health (we are both 25yrs). Having just got back from a 2 week holiday I decided to write a review of the Four Star alvor village suites and to be honest it is mixed. First of lets look at the positives. The Hotel is sold as a 4* Hotel and for the following reason’s I would have to agree that it meets that standard. After loosing a trip of a lifetime in Grenada due to the crash of XL and still trying to get our fully covered ATOL bonded refund back -but hey thats another story! - we were a little short of funds so booked a last minute allocation on arrival holiday in the Algarve. We visited and stayed at this hotel during October and had a good week overall. The hotel is brand new this year and has been really well designed in a contemporary style. all the rooms are suites with bedroom, bathroom, living area and kitchen. The hotel was full when we checked in and so we were upgraded to a 2 bedroom / 2 bathroom suite which was huge with a balcony to match. Just returned from a week at the relatively new Alvor Village Suites. We usually stay at the Alvor Pestana Park hotel but it i left it too late and it was fully booked, so decided to try this new aparthotel. We were not dissappointed the suites are huge , very bright with everything you could need. The rooms have two sets of doors leading on to the balcony one from bedroom and one from lounge. My husband and I together with our 18 month old son stayed at this apart-hotel in July 2008. It seems to be a fairly new hotel. The suite was spacious and very well equipped. There was a full sized cooker, dishwasher, microwave, coffee machine etc. There was no washing machine but you could use the laundry facilities at the Luna Brisamar hotel next door.
