Far away from our expectations-Nice hotel but not ready yet
from PrincessAndri
We arrived at "The George" on the 9th of September. We are completely dissatisfied for the following: -During the check in the Reception seemed to be bored to tell us some things about the hotel so the only thing we did was paying and taking our room key. The one that was doing the concierge was a really kind man and willing to help. -The lobby was not clean and there were laborers fixing things around. -When we arrived at our room we were happy because it was the one that we saw in the internet. BUT, the internet cable was...

Thank you for your time in reviewing The George. I would like to sincerely apologise for the inconvenience during your stay with us.
Further to your report regarding maintenance issue, we immediately set out to fix this. Unfortunately you were quicker to your room then our housekeeping staff as we still needed to clean room after works were completed. I believe we saw to this a few moments after you reported that your room was not cleaned properly.
As regards to in-room internet connection, I can confirm that we are currently upgrading our service and setting wi--fi throughout the hotel. We also have 4 computers in the lobby that may be used on a complimentary service together with our complimentary wi-fi.
I hope that your next visit to The George will be a pleasant one.
Thank you once again.

The place to stay in Malta!
from bevy999
The George Hotel is a new boutique hotel in St.Julians.The staff were amazing and when we had a problem the general manager dealt with it personally by meeting us more than half way.The hotel is clean modern and quiet at night. The location is perfect.10min walk to all the best restaurants and bars/clubs.The bus stops for all the best beaches are 5 min walk from the hotel.Try the buffet breakfast in the cafe across the road for less than €5!!
Close to the night life but far enough away from the noise
from rosie1208081
My husband and I thought this hotel was lovely, we stayed for a week bed and breakfast. The room was clean, the bed was lovely and comfortable and plenty of choice of food to choose from for breakfast. Free internet, open top swimming pool, sauna and indoor swimming pool, car park. Close to night life and far away from the noise. The only down fall was the veiw from our balcony it was just all building work, this hotel is in a street which has a couple of shops and restaurants and a university. This hotel is in between st George's Bay and St...

Possibly the best in Malta...
from ktowndown
After a lot of research into hotels in Malta we chose to stay at The George and I would definitely stay there again. It is new and very clean and has a great location. The price is very reasonable and you will not find better for what you pay! We had a deluxe room and it was perfect for our week long stay. It is a new hotel so it obviously has a few teething problems but none that hindered our stay! If I were to be ultra critical I would point out the following to management to work on: 1. The pools are in great shape but...

Nice Hotel, but not quite finished
from hlly99
My friend and i in our 20's had a pleasent stay at The George this week. The location was great, right by the bars and lots of lovely restaurants, it's not a very pretty area but if you travel out on the bus (costing between 40c and 1.16) then it's very nice. Hotel was good and compared to other hotels in Malta, it was very good. It was just missing those small touches as the hotel has just opened, our tv didn't work, phone didnt work, and it seemd that the hotel didn't do too much to help and we lasted like this for the whole week....

I lav Maltaaaa

Awesome hotel! Cannot believe the bad reviews on here! We booked a courtyard room but got upgraded to a junior suite which was huge and had a balcony with sea views. We were super close to all the great bars and restaurants but not so close that it was noisy. Beach was small but pleasant enough. Have to say the reception staff and Josef the concierge were great and went out of their way to help us. Maybe don't throw balloons over the balcony though, that doesnt go down so well!!!! I used to be a travel agent and would...

Great Hotel - 5 star Standard !!!!
from luxelover1980
The first to days of our honey moon were spent at this hotel. The rooms where highly finished, much more than what we had expected and better than many 5 star hotels around the island. The breakfast was out of this world and the food was excellent. The service was great through out and they made the first two nights of our honeymoon unforgettable. When we booked we were informed that some works such as the pools were still under construction however we decided to book just the same. The location is great since it is situated in the best part...

Perhaps a nice hotel in the future, but not in Summer 2010
from tuk2010
The hotel open end of june and we stay there in the middle auf july (13 - 20th). The problem was, that the hotel was a construction area. On the pool area no umbrella's, the pool bar not open, just 8 old sun lounger, drilling noise in the morning, no WLAN in the room, ... The hotel is across an language school and in july the most guest was between 14 - 20 years old students, so you have more the impression of an exclusiv youth hostel than an urban design hotel. The staff was always kindly an ready to help, but in holidays I don't...

Unique Gem of a Hotel
from 506PIR
My partner and I tayed at The George Hotel for an extended weekend and found it to be a real haven in the middle of Malta’s favourite area of St. Julians and Paceville. The moment we arrived at the hotel, one couldn’t help but stop and take in the nice, modern façade – a real show-piece of modern architecture where it is pretty obvious that nothing has been spared to make this hotel one of the finest on the island. The lobby is a dream come true and I find it difficult to even explain in words. The colourful array of settees...

Beautiful on the outside, horrible on the inside.
from argiss
My friend and I stayed in this hotel over the weekend and I must say we were less than impressed. I understand it’s a brand new hotel but if it’s not finished yet do not take in any bookings. We decided on an early check in and relax by the pool, we later got to know pool was still closed so we were asked to go back at 3pm when our room will be ready. By 4.45pm room was not done yet. As soon as we got to our floor, we found cart board boxes as a carpet, thinking we were on the wrong floor we went back to ask at reception and they...

All of us are doing our utmost to ensure the smooth running since opening however a few shortcomings have been recorded. I can assure you that most things mentioned have been rectified and in fact our outdoor pool and indoor pool and spa have since opened. We are also offering complimentary wi-fi for all our clients in the lobby.
I hope that your next visit to The George will be a pleasant one.
