everything about this holiday was exellent, beautiful grounds, spotlessly clean. all the staff were very friendly and helpful. food was very good. something for the kids tp do day and night.the rooms are lovely, with living area seperate bedroom (which makes a change from everyone sleeping in the one room) theres even a small kitchen with kettle toaster pots and pans etc even a fridge and cooker, which i have never seen before in an all inclusive.theres also table and chairs corner style sofa that becomes 2 kids beds, tv which only has a couple of chanels but whos goes on hols to watch tv anyway? 2 large wardrobes. if you prefer your clothes on hangers rather than folded i would take coathangers in your suitcase.then leave them behind as theres only about 10 hangers in the wardrobe. the bathroom has a bath and seperate shower. we had a room at the back overlooking the woods and a road which was surprisingly quiet, this was the only holiday we have been on that we were not feeling that we were ready to go home, and would have liked to stay longer.

The Viva Can Picafort Holiday Village is located on the outskirts of the town, about 15 minutes walk from the beach (longer with children and beach parifinalia in tow) The town itself has a lovely beach and the usual beach side shops, bars and resturants. The rest of Can Picafort I'm afraid is not the most pleasant of holiday locations. There seems to be dog excrement everywhere, including in the parks.
A ride on the Can Picafort express will take around 40 minutes and gives you a good look at the local area. There is a regular, inexpensive bus service into Alcudia, where there is a small but well run water park that I would recomend over the biger ones in the South of Majorca if you have younger children as they allow even very small kids on all the rides.
The Holiday village itself is set on a large plot quite a way from the main resort. Accomodation is in three story blocks and has large and comfortable rooms in a good state of repair, although they are begining to show signs of age. Each room has a Sitting room with two sofa beds (cots available if required), a bedroom with twin beds, a kitchenette(very small) with fridge, hob & sink and a bathroom with a bath with overhead shower and a walk in shower.
The pool is in sections with the largest part just 1m deep and the top section 1.65m deep. A seperate splash pool for younger children and a small covered paddling pool.
The resturant is large, clean and serves a wide selection of good food that should cater for all. There are three bars (poolside, lounge and night bar)
The outdoor entertainments area has plenty of seating for all.
Throughout the day there are various activities and challenges as well as a popular kids club.
This Holiday Village is made special by the staff. From the Holiday advisors and Hotel management to the cleaning staff, no effort is spared to ensure you have a great time. I will especially mention the entertainments staff who appear to work a fourteen hour day 7 days a week and produce a wide variety of nightime and daytime entertainments from game shows to caberet that rivals any west end show.
All of the staff here go the extra mile and gave me and my family our best holiday ever!

I have been to this holiday village twice now and I have to say I am somewhat suprised by the negative comments that have been given.
The hotel itself and the rooms are immaculate and cleaned to a very high standard, as is the restaurant. I have two children aged 10 and 9 who swam every single day for most of the day, as I did, none of us were ill with anything.
The staff are absolutely amazing and go above and beyond to please everyone and give the kids a good time. The kids clubs and reps offer loads of great activities and looked after them well.
The food is great, with loads of salad and fresh fruit available daily. There is an extensive choice and the kids loved the pancakes at breakfast every day!
We went for 2 weeks this year and all had a fantastic time as we did the first year we went.
It is only a 10 minutes walk to the shops and beach.
I would definately go back again.

The hotel is a really quick transfer from the airport which is great with little ones. The main recetion area is lovely and the ground are beautiful, very clean and well landscaped. The rooms are big and are very clean but the beds and decor are a bit dated and could do with a bit of a spruce up. The rooms were also quite noisy and you can hear people above you quite clearly so ask for a top floor room to limit this. I have never been all inclusive so was apprehensive about the buffet experience, but the food was lovely. Really good standard and plenty of choice, my little boy loved it and we all ate far too much. The italian is superb really good food and a nice change to be waited on. Do NOT go to the caribbean grill at night it is diabolical, inedible actually and doesn't represent the rest of the food. The snack bar during the day is OK, burgers and chips etc but serves its purpose. Drinks are good apart from the wine, wide range of spirits and nice beer on all inclusive. The staff are amazing, the viva staff are helpful and polite and great with kids, the first choice staff are wonderful. My son went to kids club (hes 5) and loved it he would have gone 3 times a day if i let him. it was safe and well managed and good fun. he went to the reebok football academy which he loved and he got a presentation on the stage which thrilled him. Nighttime ents are OK, its all for kids, the few adult acts i saw were not up to much but to be honest i'm not the sort to sit and watch them anyway. Laura and Ben and the rest of the kids ents team were brilliant fun and my son has been singing the songs since we got back. So overall for kids amazing, wouldn't go if you are just adults though. The pools are great, splash pools and main pools, the park could do with being in the shade as it was so hot when we were there it was a bit exposed. The beach is about 20 mins away by foot and its not the most scenic of walks. Ca'n picafort is run down (lots of dog poo)and not the prettiest of places but there are nice shops and a some nice bars. Its not a bad place just not up to the standard of other Majorca resorts like Puerto Pollensa. The sea is shallow and the beach is clean with space for the kids to play. We spent a couple of days out of 10 on the beach as the viva was so good.We had a fantastic time and didn't want to come home. This is for you if you just want to watch your kids have the time of their lives.

Just back from a week's holiday in Holiday Village, Can Pickafort.
We had a nice week. The hotel was excellent, food was very good with the exception of the Carribean Grill at the poolside (evening dinner) - this was really bad, I mean BAD!
The facilities were really great for families with young children however not a lot there for teenagers or older folks like us. It certainly was the most child friendly place that I have ever come across - all of the staff were extremely friendly and efficient.
My wife and I love children ( having many grandchildren at this point) so we really enjoyed the family athmosphere, however if you do not like having a lot of young children running about, this is not the place for you.
What would help older folks greatly would be the provision of a quiet, comfortable bar on the site, strictly for older adults. The main bar had entertainment every night, however very young children were allowed in this facility up to midnight every night! While there is also a sports bar on the campus, this was not really a comfortable and inviting place.
Note that not all local(Spanish) drinks are included, as advertised, in the all inclusive option - just a limited choice.
The apartments were excellent, very clean, sizeable with every required facility.
Overall, Holiday Village Viva is a very good hotel.
Can Pickafort town has a nice seafront promenade and beach but many buildings there could do with a face lift. My lasting negative memory of this town will be that of avoiding dog pooh every where you go. It really was bad and the town council should seriously and quickly address this problem. Being a holiday resort, totally dependent on tourism, more attention should be paid to this unacceptable problem.
However, my positive memories of the holiday are many and will supercede any negatives encountered.
I would highly recommend Holiday Village to people with very young families.

We've just arrived home after a 1 week stay. It was our first holiday abroad with the children (ages 6 and 3) so we did'nt want a long flight. We booked all inclusive, and were not disappointed. Food was fantastic, plenty for children to choose from. Grounds spotless, the rooms were clean and spacious. Entertainment team work really hard keeping the kids entertained. The only down side was the pools were cold, but then it is only the begining of the season, so they haven't had chance to warm up. Would reccommend this hotel to anyone with children, and would go again (tomorrow if I could). Don't go as a couple, unless you don't mind children everywhere. It's fantastic all families should give it a go. 10/10

We spent two weeks at the Holiday Village Viva from 22nd Sept to 6th Oct 2009, having booked it only a week before. We wanted somewhere All Inclusive with an apartment and separate bedroom so we could put the 3 and 1 year old children to bed without having to turn off the lights ourselves.
We phoned lots of travel agents who had difficultly finding somewhere that ticked most of the boxes for us. Most said All Inclusive usually meant one hotel room, not one with a bedroom as well.
Eventually we went into our local travel agent who found a fab late deal. We paid £2,000 for the four of us for a fortnight.
Our expectations were greatly exceeded. Checking in was really quick, the grounds are lovely, the apartment was spacious and very clean and the food was very varied and pleasant, which is usually one of the things you assume will be awful.
The other thing you can usually expect to be terrible is the entertainment. This place was excellent. As well as all the day time activity staff, they also have entertainers who work all day and evening. The four who were there were talented, funny, very motivated and really good at their jobs. All the other activity staff were brilliant too. Although bingo is not for everyone, with prizes of over 300euro, what the heck! One couple won a few times, which paid for their holiday.
The kids club for over 3s is free and you can book your child in for a couple of hours at a time at specific times throughout the day, and there's no maximum limit to how many times you can take them there.
They even offer evening kids club from 9 to 11, which we thought we wouldn't need, until we realised how good the evening entertainment was, so we didn't put ours to bed early after all.
There is a baby creche for under 3s which you pay extra for. We didn't use it but they had great price deals. All the child care staff were very professional and the security of your children was always their priority.
As well as the resident entertainment staff, the hotel booked in outside acts, like Rod Stewart and Sting tribute acts and a comedian, who were fantastic. They also had an African acrobatic act who were really good. The only exception was a Robbie Williams impersonator who was awful, but fair play, they got rid of him after about 20 minutes and got their own entertainers to take over. We found out then he had been booked last minute following a cancellation. Despite this, the other acts would have been worth paying to go to see.
The main pool was warm enough at that time of year to swim in. There is also a children's splash pool which is not very deep and is full of slides and water features for the children to play in.
We met a few people without children. Some said they hadn't been warned it was such a family friendly hotel and wished it was quieter, but most said they enjoyed being there anyway and would recommend it to their families to bring the grandchildren.
I have read some reviews where things haven't gone well, but when you read them, most seem to be unfortunate events and not necessarily the fault of the hotel.
I don't like to go on the same holiday twice because there are so many holiday destinations in this world and only one lifetime to see them, but with small children you have to know you're booking somewhere which meets your family's needs and this place certainly does. I would definitely return.

Just got back from a one week all inclusive holiday to the holiday village Count Pica Fort. Well what a excellant holiday village. Food was varied every day and good choice for adults and children alike. I went with mt Husband and daughter of eight years. We enjoyed the daytime and everning entertainment and activities, Family olympic games, high ropes experience and my daughter really enjoyed the chocolate night kids club. The kids disco and everning entertainment was excellant also wide variation of acts. Rooms where clean and maid service every day and clean towels three times a week. Lovely pools and gardens surround the hotels appartments. Although the pools were alittle cold in october for myself but didnt bother my daughter. Will be going back next year and missing it already.

Hi all,
I went on my holiday on 10 october 2009 to holiday village and what I found was not what I expected....it was much more...I am always hesititant about all inclusive holidays because the things to do and the food and such like is always the same,Not here. We had an apartment that was big enough for 4 people comfortably. There is a lovely balcony and the advantage is you can use the toilet and someone else can use the sink to brush their teeth with ease because they are in seperate rooms. The beds are comfortable depending on what you are used too..! The cleaners keep the apartment clean and I would have to say that for the complete complex. The cleaners are up bright and early to clean the paths, bar areas, lobbys and such like. There are 2 bars here, one by the pool during the day and two restaurants,Carribean and Italian, the food is great there,we had different food everyday, like burgers, beans, onion rings, chips, roast beef lamb and turkey all with gravy, patatoes, lots of fresh salads, soup and lots more. Too much to list. The entertainment was second to none. The holiday village team had so much going on from swimming lessons to archery and its not all for the kids either..lol..Then in the main bar,the night time entertainment ( Ministry of Fun ) consisting of Little Kimmy,Dan the Man,Jazzy John and Cheeky Charlie..Absolutely fabulous team. They put their hearts into everything they did both on and off the stage..the entertainment is for all ages but if you have kids I would strongly recommend that this holiday village is for you. When I have kids and untill I do, I will continue to go there. The reception staff are very polite and helpfull also. The tour operators have a room in the lobby so someone is on hand all the time. There is a nightclub in the complex so your teenagers and yourselves never have to venture down the town and you know your loved ones are safe in the care of the entertainers.I have just come back,I did a week but I should have done 2..I had sooo much fun and I know you will too.The beach is about 5 mins walk depending on how fast you walk but a leisurely stroll should do it for you. There are plenty of shops there but I would reccommend that when looking for presents to go to places north of the island as they have very different prices in the big tourist areas like palma and such like.A place to see would be Porto Cristo and Porto Pollenca, shopping there is quite cheap compared to other places.Watch the transport also. The bus drivers are very helpfull to get around but just remember they are not tour guides, you may very well miss your stop if you have not been there before. There is a bus stop just at the bottom of the road, easy to miss.It goes to palma and the inca market is a must but give youself plenty of time as it is massive and will take a couple of hours to move around it.Taxi's are a rip off.€4 before you move.I could keep going on about this place but you need to experience it for yourself and please do.By the way I am a 33 years young and feeling younger after my holiday.A very big thank you to all the staff and people who made my holiday special. Not forgetting the bar staff either, they were great.Thank you everybody.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and I hope your holiday is as good as mine was.
