Ambasciatori Palace Hotel

We spent 10 days at this hotel which is centrally located in the resort of Lido di Jesolo. The staff were excellent and they always tried to help and give a warm welcome. You have the choice of half board or bed and breakfast. We chose bed and breakfast as we wanted to eat locally. We did try the half board on two nights, and it was fine, good selection of food, buffet style with plenty to eat if you wanted. The hotel has a private pool and fronts on to their 'private' beach. Just returned from a wonderful two weeks. The hotel could not have been in a better position, right on the beach and only a hundred yards from the main street. The hotel staff were great, especially at reception and couldn't do enough for you. The food was very good. Ok over two weeks it started to be repetative, but what do you expect, there was a great selection every night. We really wanted to come back to this hotel as we stayed here in 2003. However we were a bit dissapointed this time which let our holiday down. The room was not really as clean as 3 years ago and the food was quite dissapointing this time. You had to get there early otherwise all the nice things such as salmon would dissapear and would not get replaced. on the whole the hotel should really not be a 4 * but a 3* now. Location, however is just right. Not a family hotel, no evening entertainment.

We were unsure what to expect as this Hotel had mixed reviews on the website. The hotel was under new managment and they and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and the bathroom recently refurbished. The fridge did not work but the air conditioning worked well. My girlfriend has previously stayed in this hotel when it was actually part of the Gianetti Group which it is not anymore. Therefore I was unaware of what to expect. It was a pretty standard hotel which was more suited the elderly than any young couples looking to go there, as we were. We have been to Lido di Jesolo twice. The 1st time, we stayed in the Aquileia, which was horrid. We loved the resort so much that we scouted the place out and decided if we were returning to Jesolo, we would stay in the Ambasciatori. The Ambasciatori is a great hotel- fantastic service, fabulous rooms, delicious food and a magnificent pool. Okay it was a while ago i stayed there, but it was a really great holiday. The surrounding area is brilliant, loads to do. if you like pedestrianised streets at night, great bars and bargains to be had, this is your place. I would reccommend the Black Cat bar if it's still there, magic tricks and live music when i was there. Lido de Jesolo is a very clean lively resort with miles of shops and beach. Nothing like Blackpool!!!Within easy reach to Venice, Verona and Lake Garda. I also visited Austria on a day trip which is worth visiting. The Portland rep was friendly but wasn't doing the trips she was trying to sell justice and upon asking advice of how to get to Venice she tried to force upon us their own trip. We left booking our holiday until only a couple of weeks in advance and were left with limited choice. We settled for Jesolo as earlier in the year we had been to Sorrento and loved it. Italy is a wonderful place but Lido is not an Italian resort. Built in the 1950's specifically for the German tourist market, Lido is clean, well organised, ideal for young families and utterly sterile. We stayed in the Ambasciatori Palace for 2 weeks in June this year. Our initial impression was good as we arrived. Very clean exterior and the lobby was very clean and spacious. We had paid extra for a 'limited seaview room' which sleeps 2-3 people as we had been told that the rooms in the hotel are small. Unfortunately we were put in the wrong room initially.
