Fantastic service, location & food
from A TripAdvisor Member
From the extremely friendly welcome through to the Sardinian themed final dinner we had a wonderful time. The hotel is situate in a quiet resort and is the only establishment that welcomes British visitors. Despite the fun of trying to order meals in local bars and restaurants it was always a pleasure to get back to the hotel and its high level of service. The hotel is managed by Patrick and Giovanna and it is down to their friendly attention to detail and vast local knowledge that we had such a good and very relaxing time. Patrick...

Simply delightful
from polecater
We stayed in Sardinia last year and decided that this year we would return to Alghero town for 5 nights, then travel to Corsica by ferry for 3 nights and then finish off our holiday with 2 nights in Isola Rossa before flying home. We always consult Trip Advisor before making hotel reservations and, given the mostly positive feedback left by other users, we decided on the Corallo. Unfortunately, the day we were due to travel back to Sardinia the wind picked up and our ferry was cancelled. I contacted Giovanna, who seemed genuinely...

Hotel Corallo a decent 3 star hotel but no more than this.
from Tubtruck
We independently booked a week at the Corallo and arrived back in the UK today. Having spoken to other guests we found out that if we had booked through a tour operator we would have paid almost twice what we paid, having looked at a tour operators web site I confirmed this to be the case. For the price we paid I found that it represented reasonable value for money and like many other comments on here I found the hotel to be very clean and in good condition. The main critisisms I would make of the hotel is that the pool is not heated and...

This secluded destination is a delightful treat for discerning couples and families. Food and facilities perfect as is the hospitality of Giovanna and Patrick along with their staff
exquisite food, ideal location
from A TripAdvisor Member
This hotel is located in a totally unspoilt location. If you are looking for a place to relax, with excellent food and a great family atmosphere this is the hotel for you. The owners Patrick and Giovanna were genuinely lovely people who were always at hand to give advise on any query thrown at them. Their staff were first rate and very friendly. Although a reasonably quiet location there were enough restaurants and a great gelateria open until about midnight to keep us occuppied. Isola rossa has 3 great beaches right...

Did not live up to expectations
from A TripAdvisor Member
I was expecting much more after reading all the reviews, we stayed for a week in a double room at the back of the hotel overlooking the Spanish tower. The room was fine although the bed was uncomfortable and was simply two single beds pushed together and not a proper double bed. The air con worked well though. The breakfast was fine except for the juice which made me ill. The major down point had to be the pool which only opened between 10 and 7, so the children had to leave the pool before the sun had even set. Also the pool is...

First Rate Welcome at Albergo Corallo
from FOREIGNVISITOR
We returned two weeks ago from a week's holiday at Albergo Corallo, Isola Rossa, Sardinia. It was my second visit, and my husband's first visit to the hotel. We took friends, a couple, also there for the first time. Patrick and Giovanna, the proprietors, provide what is for us an ideal atmosphere of professionalism and family-style welcome. Because of flight timings we arrived at the hotel at 10:30 pm on our first evening of the holiday and Patrick had the kitchen prepare a cold supper for us upon arrival which was absolutely delicious...

lovely location shame about the atmosphere
from A TripAdvisor Member
The hotel is very clean and in a nice location. Isola Rossa is a small fishing village with a couple of nice restuarants and a nice sandy beach. The hotel has nice views and is spotlessly clean. However we found the staff intrusive and very uptight, not at all helping us to relax or enjoy the hoteL The lifeguard insisted on closing the parasols every day we were there and as there was no other shade available we had to sit by the pool in the blazing sun. No alternative shade was offered so we could not enjoy relaxing by the pool....

Management response from HOTEL CORALLO
To our regret we read the comments written about the Hotel Corallo and its atmosphere.
First of all, we would like to apologise to those clients, who left our property with such a negative experience and we undertake to improve every point mentioned.
We will not try to justify what happened, and respect everyone's opinion, even though we must mention that umbrellas were not available because of very strong winds!
We would like to invite these clients, who we remember well, the next time they will be in Sardinia to give us another chance to enjoy the Hotel Corallo like the other numerous clients who wrote very positive comments.
Secret in Sardinia
from SimonD048
Patrick and Giovanna Cesari welcome you to the Albergo Corallo with open arms. They run a beautifully clean and fresh hotel in the lovely, small, but utterly ravashing village of Isola Rossa on the Northern coast of Sardinia. Our room was spacious and furished with simple but utterly appropriate furnishing. It had a stunning terrace overlooking the sea and a clean immaculate bathroom. We had half-board and our breakfasts consisted of fresh rolls and freshly baked croissant. As you came down the stairs the smell of fresh baking filled...

Excellent Haute Cuisine
from CODGERMATT
My wife and I have just had the pleasure of spending a week at the Hotel Corallo. We were lured to this hotel via a review on this site, and can only concur with the reviewer. The hotel is pleasantly located in the small resort of Issola Rosso, with a rather plain frontage which hides a superbly family run hotel. Just a mention, if you don't hire a car, the resort is quite a considerable taxi ride from Alghero Airport and the hotel, which you can contact via ex-tel, will have a taxi awaiting you on arrival, about 80Euros,...
