(Almost all good but for one serious issue……)My wife and our 5 year old twins had seven nights here. Firstly we liked the short transfer from the airport and the check-in was a smooth and welcoming process. The hotel is very clean and well presented. The rooms here are... more

Have just returned from two weeks at this hotel, staying on an all inclusive basis. Can not fault the food, staff, facilities, entertainment or surroundings. The only complaint i would give was the beds were too hard, did not get used to them despite having firm bed at home. Very child friendly.

First impressions were not good. The lift to our room smelt like a Salford tower block. We didn't unpack the first night as I thought we would be asking for a move. The rooms are small and basic, but clean. The following morning things were better and we decided to give... more

A very nice surprise!
After reading the other reviews for this hotel on this website. we were a little relunctant as to what to expect when we arrived. The hotel is just 25 minutes drive from the airport and the reception area light and airy. The reception staff spoke alittle engilsh but the info leaflet that we were given was all in Spanish! The pools were cleaned daily as was the poolside area. As usual, you had to be up early to get a sun lounger before they all had towels on them, but I now believe that that is the norm wherever you go. The room was ok as far as hotle rooms go. We had a family room with a seperate bedroon with plenty of wardrobe space and a spacious bathroom, which delivered a very good shower. The balcony couldve been a little bigger but just small moan. The rooms were cleaned daily with fresh towels every day. The food catered for everybody and was differnt every day in the evenings although there was always the same sort of things too such as pasta, chips salds etc but it was all delicious as we tried everything I believe. We went all inclusive and there was drinks on tap all day and unlimited ice creams for the children. The beach was a 5 minute walk but very small compared to the photos we had seen in the brochure. The sea was warm but very seaweedy so we stayed by the pool every day. There is entertainment and activities should you want to join in, volleyball, waterpolo, mini golf etc but the evening entertainment needed a bit to be desired but come the evening we were tired anyway! All the entertainment stopped at 11pm so the noise didnt drag on for too long as the rooms were quite close to the pools and enertainment area. The only gripe I have about this hotel is the lack of air conditioning. It got very warm in the evenings and you had to sleep with the balcony door open. Apart from that it was a lovely break with fabulous weather and would definatley return.
Fantastic Family Holiday
I felt I had to write a review to give this hotel some of the credit it deserves. We stayed here with friends in 2004 and were very impressed so when our son was born we could not think of a better place to take him so we booked up for the following year. When we went he was 11months old and we took my parents who were equally impressed. The hotel had undergone major refurbishment with a modern, airy resturant, 3 swimming pools and a brand new 'splash pool' Although the rooms were on the small side they were exceptionally clean and ultimatley how much time do you spend in the room anyway??? Yes some of the other guests (mainly italian) were extremly rude and pushed there way to the food, this is their downfall and not the hotels, but many only apperaed to come for the weekend and left again on Monday. This is ideal if you have small children with the beach, a pharmacy, bars and returants loctaed minutes away. The area itself is also going through moderisation and the new play areas put many of ours in this country to shame. The only very small complint we had was that the highchairs in the resturant did not have safty straps so if you are taking a younger child make sure you take some reins and we found this cliped easily to the highchairs!!! - We will definatly return and would not heistate to recommened to families!!!
Overwhelmingly ordinary!
We booked this as short break as part of a cricket tour of the island, really wanting just a bed to crash out on. I was expecting the worst because it was very cheap but have to say that it was better than that. Stereotypical holiday complex with the compulsory "fun" entertainment and ceaseless background noise associated with it was pretty awful but you can escape it by the lower pool nearer the beach. The rooms are very small and the thought of staying there for a fortnight is fairly depressing however the shower and hot water behaved well. The buffet breakfast was good, in fact better than good for the money. Buffet dinner was wholesome and very average but fair for the price, the dining room is light and modern. Staff were obliging if disinterested, but who can blame them for that in this environment. Bar prices were not so reasonable and avoid buying water in the vending machines, very expensive.
Decent Hotel, in a cute beach area
We stayed here one night before checking into our resort for a week. It was our first trip to Menorca and we loved the fact that we could stay here for our first night. Looking at a map on the website, it appeared closer to the airport than it actually way. The road to Punta Prima at night is a bit secluded and winding. None the less, we arrived safely and had no troubles locating the hotel be the excellent signage in Menorca. The gated parking lot provides the security that you will indeed have a place to park your car. The lobby area is very nice and spacious, when checking in the staff spoke English which helped us as Americans knowing very little Spanish and even less Catalan. They gave us a free drink coupon and explained that the kitchen was still open to get a snack. We decided not to go into the restaurant because it sounded as though a loud reception was going on. We got a drink at the pool bar along with a candy bar and some chips. This is definitely a place for most of Europe to travel with younger children because of all the programs and activites for the youngsters, plus the large pool itself was nice. We checked into the room, very small and minimal in ammenities. The room had a nice balcony and a updated bathroom. The television was a bit small and had german, italian, spanish, and english channels (something for everyone). We were a bit adventurous after siting on a plane for an entire day so we set out down the hill toward the water. Along the waterfront is a large beach and many little stores and restaurants ( all were closed except for one bar that was closing) We walked around a bit and headed back to get some sleep. The following morning, we were facinated by the continental breakfast. Items ranged from cheese, and several types of sausage and meat to eggs, breads, cereals, and fruit. We enjoyed the Queso Mahon and Manchengo cheeses for breakfast and also had a few local pastries before checking out. Overall, this was a nice "brand" name hotel, not spectacular in ammenities, but comfortable and great for a family get away. I would stay here again if the occasion presented itself.
rude staff
lost my purse containing all monies and cards, reception reluctant to let me use phone to call family for funds after much discussion, another guest let me have change for phone, a terrible experience..
not too bad!!
We spent two weeks here with our children (9yrs & 9 months). We had a lovely holiday, very relaxing & good fun. The children really enjoyed themselves . The Hotel was clean with great facilities for babies & children. Rooms were fine & baby travel cots were brand new. Found the reception & entertainment staff friendly & helpful but did have a few complaints. After virtually fighting to get to the food (past the influx of Italian guests who left their manners in Italy), it was disappointing, very repetitive & lukewarm. The next task was trying to find a table in the resturant - not very enjoyable. Our other main complaint is about the bar staff who were rude to say the least, we were ignored constantly - along with most of the British guests. Our 9yr old was also ignored when he went to the bar for ice cream which was upsetting as it took him a couple of days to pluck up the courage. Wouldnt go back but this is mainly due to the resort itself which, when compared to the rest of the island was a bit dirty. The beach was awash with [cigarette] ends & there was literally nothing to do.
"Disillusioned"
Agree with everything "not happy, will not return" says in his review. The British were in the minority, mainly Spanish and French, a handful of Germans but we've always found them OK. The worst aspect was the tiny, cramped room and how people bear it in the height of the summer when it's really hot beggars belief! The food was Ok but pretty much the same every day. The British Holiday companies should investigate this hotel and find out for themselves. We will definitely NOT return to that hotel, probably not to Minorca either, Majorca is much, much better.
not happy. will not return
We have just returned from this hotel in punta prima, menorca. We stayed there for 8 days. In a box.. The space between the beds is not much.! this was a twin room with an extra bed. My granson cut his mouth open because the beds are so close. We were striding over to get to the bathroom because the space was only wide enough for 1 foot.. No Air Conditioning, We had to go and hire a fan for our room. Costing us 15 Euro s for 7days. All Inclusive. The Food. The food was good. Thats if you are Italian, it is all italian food. All the english people were complaining. Infact we were warned by some english people about the food when we arrived. They did not cater for the younger children, especially babies ie: 2year olds. The food part definately does not cater for children.Other than those who would like pasta. Entertainment. The entertainers were very good up to the end of the entertainment night. 10.pm to 11pm was good, but for everybody who was not italian, was told that the evening entertainment was over. Then as we were all heading for our rooms for the night, All the Italians headed for the lounge bar. They were being entertained by the hotels entertainers in there language and we all had to put up with the noise, Especially them going back to rooms. They were very noisey whilst we and our children trying to sleep. We were not happy with this hotel and we will not be returning. So the morral of this review is : if your english do not waste your money, I will be reporting all these finding back to thomson who were my agents. I also suggest that agents for english holiday agencies go there and make there own views.(but not letting the hotel management know who they are.)
An Excellent Hotel!
My family and I stayed here for a fortnight in August 2000. This was our first time abroad as a family and all-inclusive. What an excellent first time it was! We had a late night flight with Air 2000 and arrived at our hotel at about 11:45 am. We were immeditately given a warm greeting at reception and a porter was immediately on hand and helped with our luggage and shown to our rooms. We then received a call on our room phone from reception, telling us that a supper had been prepared for us in the restaraunt. We had an excellent time, and were never bored. We haven't been since then, but if it is still run in the same way as it was in 2000, I can heartilly recommend it to anyone!
Unhelpfull receptionists
A Good hotel with good bar staff and reps but the reception was very unhelpful as they will leave you standing while they serve Spanish and Italian guests behind you The rooms have no air con and fan hire is very expensive they do not tell you it is a lot cheaper to buy one from the local supermarket. We were olso sereved raw kebabs be carefull
