the hotel has been refurbished as we were told at a cost of £36,000,000
We had no complaint`s with the room`s, food,or staff
Most of the All inclusive stayed around the pool`s,there were more than enough sun-bed`s,and the evening entertainment very professional
there is a lovely beach which we enjoyed, there were beach bar`s for cold drink`s(phew and we needed them)
it was really hot
So the thing to to do is go and enjoy your holiday

Submitted By: D Smiththe hotel/food/bar/staff are superb.
the hotel has undergone a complete refit over the winter and will reopen this summer as a 4 star.
it has a mainly spanish/italian clientelle they are friendly and in the main a lot better to be on holiday with moaning brits (Its too hot - too cold - the foods foreign) - ive lost my hanky it blew off my head)

Submitted By: Mr D NuteThe variety and quality of food in the restaurants is excellent. The resort is very quiet and ideal for young families. There is little for older children to do. There are plenty of play parks in the resort.
The kids club at the hotel runs a range of activities that keep the kids happy. The swimming pools do not have lifeguards and the water is deep.

Submitted By: Mr N PhillipsWe didn't unpack the first night as I thought we would be asking for a move. The rooms are small and basic, but clean.
The following morning things were better and we decided to give the Hotel a chance.
The Pools are ok, but could do with a proper clean, there's algae on the concrete above the tiles. Lots of sunbeds, but these get reserved earlyish.
Restaurant was excellent, lots of choice at every meal, plenty of good quality fish and meat dishes, lots of salads, daily regional specialities, decent choice for young children. The restaurant staff are all friendly and hard working, as are the bar staff, no queues for drink at any time.
The entertainment staff are very friendly and work hard to provide a varied program during the day. Night time entertainment is ok, with acts brought in on several nights.
We ended up having a really good holiday and I'm glad that I did not act on my first impression. Not many brits at the hotel, but those we spoke to seemed to enjoy the place too.

Submitted By: Mrs H TomlinsonHowever, I have to say that we all had a terrific holiday. We went out to Menorca on 13th August 2007. We found everyone on Reception very friendly and helpful.
Bar staff were fine, not as friendly as in some places we have been to, but certainly no complaints about them.
We were fortunate enough to have two family rooms, which were quite adequate, though I have to admit the ordinary rooms were very small, but then hopefully you don't spend all your time in your room.
The rooms were clean and the staff looking after them always pleasant and friendly. As for the dining room and meals, we certainly had no complaints there, the choice of food was amazing, and yes sometimes it wasn't as hot as it might have been, but when you are feeding people in such large numbers it must be very difficult to keep everything piping hot all the time.
As for the Animation Team I don't think we have ever seen a team who are so professional and so in tune with each other, we thoroughly enjoyed there performances in the evenings and their company during the daytime, never were we made to feel unwelcome because we were English and not Spanish or Italian.
I noticed in one review that someone complained that the majority of holiday makers in this hotel were Spanish or Italian, but what did they expect. If you go abroad you are likely to meet foreigners. I wouldn't think that Spaniards or Italians going to Scotland or Wales would be surprised to find they had to mix with the Scots or the Welsh or even a few English.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this Hotel and would recommend it to anyone.

Submitted By: Mr B SmithAll inclusive is excellent value, bar staff are good.
The resort is very small and quiet but lots of things for small kids to do. The resort was busy with young families from different nations.
Excellent holiday would recommend to anyone with little kids looking for good value and quiet resort.

Submitted By: Mr Mike JonesBut as soon as I arrived at the hotel I knew it was going to be good!
My room that I shared with my mum and dad was quite small, but the family rooms are a lot bigger.
There are three pools which are suitable for different ages.
The food is nice although on some occasions I struggled to find something I liked. The bar staff are nice but sometimes serve out of turn at the bar.
The resort is quiet and it’s only a short walk down to the beach from the hotel. There isn’t any shops apart from a couple of beach shops opposite from the beach and a few bars.
The sea is nice and is quite warm with loads of rock pools to one side.
Renting a car is a must as you get to go to really nice beaches around the island and the other towns, like Mahon where there is a market and shops.
My only little complaints are that the minigolf bar (across from the hotel) is not all inclusive and the tennis is 10 euros.
If you get offered the chance to go to the fiesta in Sant lluis there is a lot of waiting around to do after the parade and a taxi would be better than the bus.
Even though this wasn’t my best holiday, I would go back as I had a really good time!

Submitted By: Mr M HouldsworthThe First Choice rep we only say him on the welcome meeting, we put a complaint postcard like he said, suppose to be 24hrscome back 5 days and still no answers. Nowhere in the brochure or in the travel agents did it say the hotel was all geared towards Italians/Spanish people quite a lot through the holiday we felt overlooked due to us being English.
The kids club my 4 yr old daughter went to it one day and the rep could hardly speak English and seemed not interested because she was the only child, and she never danced the whole 30 mins the kids disco lasted, they refused to give here a balloon, which is disgusting.
The food was often cold even when it opened as we went in straight away, the food was all for the Italian or Spanish, it was fish, grilled fish, or fish there were know kids choices, my daughter lived on biscuits and chocolate spread for here tea, we had to go out and buy food to make sure she ate.
We had glass on the floor in the room for 3 days, even though the rooms were cleaned daily, not. The bar staff were not helpful at all unless you were all inclusive. The list would go on, dont book this hotel it is a not worth a 1 star and need looking at
" Do not go to this hotel if you are... "
Submitted By: Mrs M WhiteMy husband, myself and my 6 year old son stopped here for 7 nights and it was the longest week of our lives! Most nights we didn’t get to sleep until 2am due to rowdy/noisy people going back to their rooms. The room said it slept 3, but 3 single beds pushed into a 12ft room with little room to walk round is not my idea of fun.
The hotel run kids club, mainly catered for the Italians /Spanish of which the hotel mainly catered for. The food was at best warm, with no kids selection.
" Avoid like the plague!
If you like lukewarm (if you're lucky) food and fish, fish, fish and more fish this is the place to go. The children’s selection was none existent.
Don't have the misfortune to have an early flight home either, which requires an early breakfast as you're pushed into a small room off the main restaurant with a minimal choice and no toaster to toast the leftover bread from the previous evening!
The staff were reasonably friendly, although some of the bar staff left a little to be desired.
Cleanliness was variable with communal areas well cleaned, but a dramatic drop in standards in the room. I can't recall a single bed linen change in 2 weeks.
The resort of Punta Prima was nice enough with a small selection of bars / shops and a good beach, just a shame about the hotel. For an international chain it was a disgrace.
This is the only time I've ever been glad to get back home following a holiday.

Submitted By: J MatherAfter booked this trip I then began reading various reviews of the hotel. What I read filled me with dread, cold food, unclean rooms, unhelpful staff... the list went on!
But I can tell anyone thinking of going there that none of this is correct for the time of year we went. It was nice and quite at this time of year and admit it may be very different at peak season.
We arrived to warm welcoming staff. The hotel complex was spotless. The room was fine, no penthouse but I was never expecting it to be anything other that basic - had shower, TV and a nice view. Walls were very thin though but most people in bed by 11-12 every night.
The food was good, did get repeated a few times. Never cold though. Plenty of meat and fish choices, loads of salad and veg (maybe not so much choice for young children). Waiters were also very helpful too.
Our 2 year old loved it, they had 3 pools and a lovely soft play area. There were various parks on the way to the beach too.
Entertainment staff were very nice - left you alone if you didn’t fancy getting involved.
Punta Prima was very clean too and very quite, hardly saw any traffic. Beach was very good, lots of rock pools. Restaurants nearby were good.
Other people stating at Barcelo Pueblo Hotel also said they enjoyed their stay and would like to return as would we.

Submitted By: Mr M KiernanOn the whole its a small resort with not a lot to do and very overpriced.
Hotel room was cleaned every day but the floors felt very greasy even after they were mopped…
If I was to go back to Menorca I would 100% go to Cala Galdana its nice, clean and friendly.
Be warned if its a relaxing holiday you want then don’t come to here.

Submitted By: Mr G ArmesHowever, the Barcelo Pueblo is a bit of a nightmare. We are a couple in our late 30's early 40's and were looking for a quiet week away. No chance here, mainly due to the guests, who whilst being whipped up into a frenzy by the animation team seemed to spend most of their time chucking each other into the main pool! Our room only seemed to be properly cleaned when we reported it to the desk, otherwise a quick make of the bed was all you got. We also suffered 4 power failures due to people in adjacent rooms using hairdryers they had brought from home. The food was just about OK. A fairly unadventurous buffet, which was like a bun fight by 8pm. I would say the hotel limps over the 3* line but sadly it attracts 1* all inclusive Brits!
