Hotel Palme

My two brothers, mum and I, stayed at this hotel for a week. First impressions were the rooms are a little small but none the less very clean with fresh towels given near enough every day. In each room there is a safety deposit box but just how ‘Safe’ they are we are not sure. Little balcony made for lovely night caps under the stars and beautiful views in the morning. The hotel is located 5 minutes walk from the sea front and has easy access to bars and restaurants even closer than that. Rooms are comfortable though some are awkwardly shaped and furniture can be placed strangely resulting in banged knees etc. Smallish but adequate balconies give views of surrounding area but some are overlooked. There is a limited choice of food for evening meal but the food itself is good provided you are prepared to accept real Italian cooking - chicken and beef are infrequent. Have just returned from the Hotel Palme at Garda and have some plus and minus points to warn about:- Plus points Rooms very clean and well maintained and air con works very well (it was absolutely boiling when we were there) Location fine, not too central, not too far out Staff mostly friendly and helpful Garda is a lovely resort Minus points The noisiest hotel I have ever stayed in, walls are thin and you can hear every flushed toilet and shower go on so you never get to sleep before midnight nor after 7am... more

We have just returned from a weeks holiday in Hotel Palme, NOT the Royal or Suite but the Palme. There is some confusion as to these three hotels and which one is which. I can only say that I was generally overjoyed with the holiday, the price, the location, the lake, the tours, the tour operator (first choice). I recently went to Garda with my friend (Both mid 20's) staying at the Palme Hotel. We managed to get a late deal at a great price. The hotel was really nice, staff were really friendly, room was clean, with a view over the garden and pool area. Food was good , breakfast had a great selection of cereals, bread, ham, cheese and cakes something for everyone. This was our first visit to Lake Garda and we could not have chosen a better place to stay. The hotel is in an excellent location, 5-10 mins walk to the lakeside. On the way down to the lake you pass the tourist information office (where you can hire a car), the doctors a chemist and a supermarket which we found very usfeul for drinks and snacks. This was our first visit to Lake Garda, so we were unsure what to expect from the Hotel Palme. It was graded as 2 star + in the Sunstart brochure, and some of the reviews we read on this site were not to complimentary. We need not have worried, its location is a gentle 15 minute stroll away from the lakeside. Having had not much luck finding any info on this hotel apart from on this website, we were a little sceptical about our bargain of a holiday (last minute bargain!!) but we neednt have worried. Having received the details of this hotel from our travel operator, I looked for reviews and opinions of people who had stayed there before. The responses were varied but inevitably suggested faults rather than positive remarks. Our family of four stayed at the Hotel Palme for four days as part of a Speedway motorcycle grand prix trip and I am happy to report on here that we found the hotel to be satisfactory and we were not disappointed. My Wife & I visited the Palme Hotel some 10 minutes walk downhill, through the park, to the lakeside. Of course, the return from the town/lake is uphill but not too tiresome. The Hotel is quirky, to quote my Wife. The Reception area is detatched from the rest of the complex and it is necessary to leave the area reserved for accommodation in order to reach the Dining Room.
