Hotel Palme Royal

Hotel Palme is admittedly nothing spectacular but the staff are friendly and the rooms comfortable. Good location, only 5 mins from the lakeside, bus depot is just around the corner and shops just down the road. Seemed to be a decent level of entertainment (not to my personal taste but cant fault the effort) , we went out at 8pm and they had a italian crooner belting his lungs out to the german/english guests......strolling back in at 12midnight the guy was still going, looked like he hadn't taken a break! Me and husband just came back from Lake garda. its a beautiful place to go for holiday...very relaxing..beautiful scenries all around you. hotel was good and basic as well. just 15 minutes walk from hotel to the lake. hotel staff was brilliant very helpful at all times. weather was very good,bright and sunny all the time but litlle bit cold in the night.

We totally agree with the review from Belfast member July 18th We have travelled all over Europe and consider our selves to be seasoned travellers. This hotel is need of a refurbishment, They need to sort the lighting in the reception area and the waiters need to go on a training course in manners. I have never seen any meals as poor as these and any one who thinks they are acceptable are crazy We eat 1 evening meal and 1 breakfast in 1 week in this hotel and would not waste a trip to Italy hoping that it got better.<br... more

I got sick from this Food there. And the waiters tried to get a date with me!!!

Just returned from a 2 week stay at the Royal. Very hot - well into the 30s (where do brochures find their average maximum temperatures?) except for 2 nights when we had fantastic lightning storms. Hotel is what you would expect from 3*. Rooms reasonable size, air conditioning struggled a bit to cope with temperatures. 2 power cuts did not prevent dinner service. I disagree with the other reviews for this hotel posted so far. The hotel is classed as a 3* in Italy but the company I travelled with rated it as a 2* which I think is closer to the mark. First the negatives: The building is an unattractive concrete structure which has an air of neglect. In particular there are weeds growing through all the paviers on the pool terrace. My husband and I stayed at the Hotel Royal from 21st August 2004 - 4th Sept 2004 with our 18 month old son. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms were very clean and spacious and the air conditioning was great. The food was excellent (and there was plenty of it!). Will definitley go back.

My family and I have just come back from Hotel Palme Royal in Garda ,from 5thSept to 12th, and all I can say is that it was fabulous.We loved every minute of it there.We had a very spacious room for the four of us.The food was great.The staff were so friendly and helpful.Lake Garda is such a lovely place,with tiny villages spread around the lake and very easily reached with our hired car.Gardaland is just 25minutes away and my boys just loved it.The shows there were great. In August 2004 my family and I stayed for 11 nights in the Palme Royal Hotel. The location is fine and quiet and no more than a 10 minuet stroll to the lake side. The food and service was excellent with all the friendly staff,most of whom spoke English,German,French. My wife and i spent a week 29 of may to6 of june 04 in the royal hotel lake garda A 3 star hotel with in our opinion 5 star staff service and food. The hotel is situated about 500 yds from the lake side on a slope that is slightly steep if you are no longer young. Garda is a truly beautiful town in particular the old part which is a maze of extremley narrow streets filled with shops restaurants cafes and ice cream shops with a heavenly selection of flavours.
