Zante Village

Zante is a small quite island, zante village was a clean hotel, rooms not a bad size,pool was a good size and accomodated all experiences of swimmimg. The normal problem with sunbeds, some being reserved as early as 7am and people actualy laying on them chatting incase anyone removed their towels. The food was ok for a week but it was to continental for the english and our youngest did struggle,a menu letting you know what was for lunch and dinner didn't help as the actual food layout was not labeled. Bit worried as I thought I had booked Alykanas Village Zante. Pleasantly surprised. Had 4 nice rooms overlooking pool. Nice balconies, good air conditioning .Pool very nice. Food was ok but had enough after 2 weeks. Lots of sauces no choice for children. The snack bar served toasties and serve yourself ice cream all day. No entertainment in the day and a little in the evenings quizzes, Greek dancing, etc but we were a large party so we entertained ourselves. Stayed at Zante Village Hotel for a week with partner. We booked in February and got 1 week all inclusive at a good price through Thomas Cook. We were pleasantly surprised at the hotel it was much better than we expected. The pool was cold but nice and we always managed to get a sunbed. The food was very repetative and some of the meat dishes were suspect but we still managed to over indulge. We stayed here for a week- end of May 09. The hotel is situated in a quiet part of Alykanas, about a 10 minute walk to the main street. The rooms were immacuate, cleaned every day, towels were changed once while we were there, the rooms were spotless. We had a room overlooking the pool, which was beautiful. The surroundings were absolutely spectacular, the hills at the back of the hotel were just gorgeous. It is a quiet hotel, so bear this is in mind when you book. Went there on the 10-13th April 2009 for a soccer tournament held there with my son's team. The organizers had booked the hotel. The four stars are definitly misleading....the hotel is noway near that standard. The food was aweful...with loads of spagetti and pototo chips. The airconditioners and refridgerators in the rooms were not included in the price and we had to pay ezxtra. The pool was empty, And the owner was very rude.....when we complainted.
