Kalithea Horizon Royal

Myself and my partner booked our holiday though Thomson online - which was simple and saved us a few hundred pounds. The pictures and reviews of the hotel on Trip Advisor convinced us. From the other reviews, we had slight concerns over the size of the the resort and also about the diversity of the food. we have just returned from a 2 week stay at the horizon royal and to be honest i could have stayed longer. the hotel is is spread through a large area with alot of walking so no good if walking is a problem for you but for us there was no problem. the food is excellent , the staff are all polite , very helpful and great with kids. we booked a superior room with sea view that was lovely but if you've been to carribean these are like there standard rooms but never the less very nice. the hotel is very clean and modern and all pool areas are... more

I am writing this review so that I can share our experience with other travellers. My partner and I chose the Horizon Royal after perusing its website and gathering information about the location and I can safely say this hotel is undersold - although I hope that situation does not remain. 2. sept. 2008 We are five people from Denmark who have just been staying at Kalthia Horizon for a week and it was all wonderful. We celebrated our silverwedding, so we had our children and granddaugther (15) with us and we all enjoyed very much. All the staff was very sweet and helpful and we had great fun with them. We have just returned from a week's stay at The Kalithea Horizon Royal. Here is a summary of the positives and negatives for you to consider before booking: POSITIVES - Lovely, clean, modern, spacious room overlooking the restaurant and great bathroom (nicest we have had ever in Greece) - Sea views excellent, location by the sea is wonderful - Breezy each evening which was welcome after scorching hot days. My partner and I stayed at the Kalithea Horzion for 1 week from the 2nd August 2008. We had a brilliant time and would highly recommend this hotel. The hotel has gorgeous views over the Aegean Sea, the weather was amazing and the hospitality by ALL hotel staff, from waiters to Manuel the security guard was, in our opinion, exemplary. Myself, my husband and our 14yr old son stayed at this hotel from 30/7 for 1 week. First impressions of the hotel were fantastic. The three tier pool was stunning and situated on a cliff top over looking the sea, beautiful! Everything about this hotel was modern and new from the wooden sunbeds to the wicker furniture. This hotel is new to Thomson, on the website it states the Horizon Royal has 250 rooms but it is annexed to the Kalithea Mare Palace and it is difficult to distinguish where one hotel stops and the other starts,we were in room 684 so you are on a massive complex,very spread out with well over 700 rooms. Guests at the Horizon Royal can use some of the facilities at the Mare Palace and vice versa.The hotel does have a small reception at the front of the Mare Palace but it is not open all the time and when we arrived we checked in at the Mare... more

Just returned from 11 nights All inclusive at the Horizon. We took a chance on this one as no English reviews were available (it only made its way into the Thomson UK brochure this year – 2008). The aerial satellite photo on the Thomson website shows the wrong hotel! The Horizon is located a couple of miles south than claimed by Thomson. My partner and I have just returned from a 7 day holiday in Rhodes where we stayed all-inclusive at the ‘Kalithea Horizon Royal Hotel’. This is one of the nicest hotels I have ever stayed in…..the room was spacious, the food was superb and always available and the staff could not do enough for you, nothing was too much trouble. Our room, the pools (all 10 of them!!), restaurants and other facilities were always immaculate……not a cockroach in sight!
