Riviera Caribe Maya Playa Hotel

We just got back from a short trip to Playa Del Carmen and are so sorry we didn't stay longer. This hotel is wonderful! Small, quiet, clean, friendly and convenient to the beach and 5th Ave. where all the shops, bars and restaurants are. There is a little cafe by the lobby that serves a cheap and good breakfast. Mamitas Beach Club is cool and lively and got crowded early, with a great mix of people. We are definitely going back to Playa Del Carmen and definitely staying at Hotel Riviera Caribe Maya.

This was our third time to Playa del Carman, and this is by far the best hotel of the three for the best price. We have normally stayed in the thick of things on Fifth Street, but decided to try a hotel away from the action. Remember that you are staying in Mexico, NOT the United States. We stayed in a Standard Plus Room (queen bed, mini-fridge, TV, AC and balcony) for 8 days in mid-November. The hotel is in the quieter northern side of town, but a short 10-15 minute walk to the center of 5th Ave. We never found the location a problem, as it was nice to walk into the center of town each day before and after we ate a meal. First I would like to say that it's hard to find a 50 - 60 USD dollars Hotel in Playa Del Carmen with rooms available in High season. Than, It's hard to find a clean Hotel in Playa del carmen for 70 - 90 USD per night. Well at The Riviera Caribe Maya I found a small hotel, super clean (they have an AWARD for that), next to the main fifth avenue and Cheap. I have stayed at the Riviera Caribe Maya Hotel many times and always had a great time.There is a common area with free internet service where guests often mingle and share informations about Playa del Carmen.It is so conveniently located that you can walk everywhere.It is an inexpensive,beautiful boutique hotel with everything you need.Recommend it highly.

Hi, I was here in 2000 and 2002 (and October 2004) a great little hotel if your looking for something inexpensive. The staff was great and the rooms were always nice and clean. If you wanted to be close to shopping or any of the night life this is the place to stay. So enjoy your stay in downtown Playa del Carmen.

What a great time we had in PLaya del Carmen!! We stayed at the riviera caribe maya and I was a bit worried cause I knew it was a bit far from the centre. But that is the best LOCATION! Its not so crowded, the restaurants are cheaper and nicer, you see all the locals eating here. Everybody was so friendly in this area. The hotel is absolutly great. We cannot say enough about this wonderful hotel stayed here for 3 days prior to checking in to our 5 star timeshare which didn`t hold a candle to the Riviera Caribe Maya Hotel if we had to do it again we would have spent the entire time at the Riviera Caribe Maya instead.The feeling,the warm and the hospitality was unbelievable.Conveniently located and you walk anywhere.Try the smothie bar just down the street.Playa del Carmen was in our top ten best ever vacations and it was definitely because of this place.

This little hotel is a great value, and the positive reviews that precede this one are right on target. For $48, I got a room with a terrace and a view of the pool, as well as access to the nicest beach club in town--including a complimentary beach chair and umbrella on a remarkable beach. We were in Playa Del Carmen in mid July 2004. We went on a "Felix Family" vacation and rented several rooms. We all loved the hotel. It's small and quaint. It is also spotless! The beds are small but comfortable. We couldn't get the kids out of the pool. The hotel is just two blocks from Calle Quinta. Close to all the action. The staff was very accomodating and tried to help as much as possible. We definately recommend this hotel.
