Marietta Hotel

Just returned from two weeks at the Marietta. We had a lovely time,the Marietta is really clean and all the staff work really hard. The room we had No 11 was fine,and further to previous reviews ITS GREECE!!! of course its a bit basic.We have travelled to Greece several times before,islands and the mainland. And this is what you get!. As for the dogs barking and cockerals!!! im not sure what they can do about this,maybe the owners should be more considerate to the delicate English travellers who require complete silence! My husband and i both love Skala, and now love the Marietta apartments, and wouldnt hesitate to recommend it, and also return ourselves. Marietta is ideally situated, a lovely 5 min stroll into the town, and to the beach, pool area is spacious with a lovely clean large pool, snack bar food is nice, served quickly and very reasonably priced, as are drinks. Just returned from a two week stay at the Marietta and, never having been on a package holiday, were very impressed with it. Our apartment was spacious, clean and cool, even though the temp hit 40 a few times, never needed the air con. We found the staff to be friendly and helpful, they all seemed to work very long hours to keep the place looking nice. This was our first visit to Kefalonia and Skala and loved the island and town. We stayed b&b at the Marietta therefore we only had a fridge but we didn't mind too much, I wasn't there to cook! The rooms are basic but clean and everyone has their own balcony which is lovely to sit on and have a drink before heading to the town for dinner which is only a 5 minute walk away. We have just returned from our first stay in the marietta hotel/apartments, the hotel itself was beautiful, clean & well staffed, the rooms basic but very clean 7 had everything you needed for basic SC. It had a good check in routine, quick 7 easy straight to your rooms. the breakfast/snacks available between 8a.m. - 4 p.m. very nice between 6-8 euros for brekkie. drink pretty expensive, but no different than any other hotel at the moment. pool was very nice 7 well kept, although no plastics or footballs allowed in the pool, did not affect... more

skala isa great base for a relaxing holiday . it has just about very thing you need great bars and taverns, gift shops, car hire,a great bakers, beach ,friendly people.the marietta is just on the edge of skala not to far to walk into the centre and just far enough away for it to be quiet and relaxing. the pool area is clean with plenty of sunbeds the hotel rooms are basic ,no tv in rooms only at bar .if self;catering ,very small basic kitchen area with two ring hot plate,kettle,fridge and basic cooking equipment. take an insect plug in and... more
