Hotel Port Mahon

A smashing hotel, with very friendly and helpful staff. Good food with plenty of choice, delightfull outside eating area, clean public areas with a well kept garden area arround the lovely heated swimming pool. We had a very nice room over looking the port, with double balcony, which was throughly cleaned each morning. The only down side is the amount of steps both in the hotel and to get down to the harbour, but having said that, it keeps you fit after the good food you will be eating!!! the rooms could be updated but the standard of cleanliness was above avarage and they had everything you could need in a hotel room. The food in the half board option was the best I had ever had at a hotel buffet, lots to choose from and changed every night. The staff were all very helpful and friendly espscially the old guy in the bar. The location was the best, a 10 minute stroll around the top of the cliff into town of a 15-20 minute stroll along the harbour edge. I would not hesitate in booking this hotel again.

Have just returned from a week in The Port Mahon and have absolutely no complaints at all. The staff were courteous, efficient and friendly and the hotel, pool area and rooms spotless. The superb breakfasts were varied with a selection of fish, meats, cheeses, pastries, cakes, yoghurts and cereals as well as the more traditional hot dishes - also there was cava every morning. Stayed at the Port Mahon for 3 nights in September 2005. A lovely hotel. Our room overlooking the back of the hotel wasn't the best view, so worth paying extra for a seaview room. The hotel is in a lovely position overlooking the harbour. Staff very friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay at the Port Mahon again.

Have just returned from a week in the Port Mahon Hotel in Menorca - an excellent hotel with first-class service, the finest position in Mahon overlooking the beautiful harbour, and food of the highest quality (and quantity !) Only slight problem was that the air-con had been switched to heating due to a cold spell prior to our arrival - as soon as this was mentioned to the hotel, the air-con was immediately re-instated. Would not hesitate to recommend the hotel, but families with young children may find the lack of handy beach... more

Situated in an elevated position overlooking the harbour, this colonial-style hotel is located in one of the best areas of Mahon. This hotel has everything you desire for a relaxing holiday and is located about 10 minutes from the harbour-front. Although there are a number of steps, you can opt to take the lift from the Casino if you wish which is open to the public. Having visited the Port Mahon at least 5 times we were very dissapointed last year with the standard of dinner. In previous years, as soon as the dining room opened the restaurant was full with holiday makers to sample the wide range of excellent dishes. Last year (2003) the number of occupied tables was sometimes as low as 5 or 6, the reason was simple to see, the food on offer was of 3 star or less quality. This hotel has some great rooms AT THE FRONT, the rest not so good in terms of the view over the bay. The breakfasts are good - with SPANISH (can be slow) service of tea and coffee. All the staff are helpful and unfailingly cheerful. Go and enjoy it.

The Hotel Port Mahon is a four star hotel built in the British colonial style set in a quiet location, on the top of the cliffs looking onto the harbour of Mahon.
