Mitsis Hotel Rinela Beach

Have to disagree with some of the negative reviews written re Rinella Beach. We stayed for 14 nights arriving back home on the 3rd August 2004. I am a believer of you get what you pay for. This is a package tour holiday and we have been on package tour holidays, mostly all inclusive, for the past 10 years. This hotel is the best that we have been to. The hotel is very spread out. There are 2 large pools and a splash pool which is used for the slide. At no time were we unable to obtain a sunbed and the same goes for the beach also.... more

My wife, myself and and two children, 9 + 6 spent a fortnight at the Rinella Beach Hotel this August. Having read some of the reviews on here, we began to look forward to our holiday with some trepidation. Our fears however disappeared as soon as we entered the hotel. True, it would't be classed as a 5* hotel in England, but you wouldn't get that kind of facility in Greece for £2400 for a fortnight all inclusive for 4 people. We booked this hotel for 1 week for 2 adults and 2 children having been told it was 5 star. We paid £2200 all inclusive. Upon arrival, 15 hours late due to Air Scandic being completely incompetent we were met with a very pleasant reception area. However, all was not what it seemed. We cannot describe how much we enjoyed this holiday. We went away for 2 weeks with our 2 kids and we all had a ball. The hotel is out of this world and the food and drink was more than we could eat or drink with something available for anyone. The beach is great with the tide never going out very far and very safe for the children. The animation team were fantastic and very amicable - even if you didn't want to join in any activities. We returned to Rinella Beach for the fifth time at the beginning of this month and can't wait for our return visit. After 4 wonderful breaks there, we were rather worried after finding this site and reading some very negative reviews on this hotel. Fearing the management might have changed, we were somewhat concerned - especially as friends were coming with us this time. We had a very comfortable week but I agree with many people this isnt a 5* hotel. I would rate it as a 3*. When we arrived the hotel had over booked and we were put in a nearby hotel. They requested we returned the next day at 10.30. After hearing some people complain about their rooms we insisted on keeping the key of the other hotel until we viewed our room. Quite simple really our arrival at Rinella Beach was met with our utter dissatisfaction, and our refusal to stay. Reception area looked OK, as did other general areas, our room however was "The Pits". No way is this a 4 or 5* hotel. It has to be 2* maximum. A family of four in a space only big enough for two. Spent 2 weeks at Rinela Beach Hotel in Kokkini Hani, Crete......wonderful 2 weeks and i am going back in August. ANAMATION TEAM: What a great team, they work extremely hard and are so much fun. We have just come back from this hotel 2 families with 6 children the rooms are fairly basic equivalent to a 2 star plus but always cleaned and plenty of fresh towels, the place looks beautiful the beach is great and not far from the hotel.
