Lunata Hotel

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Hotel Lunata and checked out just last week (February 22, 2005). The hotel itself is absolutley wonderful. The hotel staff, we cannot thank them enough for their hospitality. Hotel Lunata will always have a special place in our hearts. My boyfriend proposed on the roof top. Not only was the staff incredibly attentive to every question and curiosity we proposed, they fascilitated the booking for us to go to the most beautiful nature park (XCARET - even thought the cost of admission is high, DO NOT MISS THIS PARK) and arranged a very affordable airport shuttle for us. We stayed at Lunata this past week (Feb 5th)- the hotel is elegant, clean and very pretty- but the noise from the street was a real issue. We had a garden view room and the noise from the street- music and hammering- kept us up into the night. Definitely recommend the hotel but if you are not a night person then you may not get as much rest as you'd like. Needless to say, the location can't be beat.

Very nice little hotel, problem is that the location is right above 5th avenue, and if you have a street room (like we had), forget about sleeping with open windows, and even if you shut them, it's fairly noisy. Rooms are really pretty, with air con and everything else, and the personnel is very friendly and helps you a lot, however if you are looking for a quiet hotel in a quiet area, this is definitely not your place. We just returned from a 4 night stay at the Hotel Lunata in Playa del Carmen. Having stayed at the Gran Porto Real on the north side of town last year, I was looking for a small charming hotel in the center of town. We stayed at the Hotel Lunata 10/15- 10/22. It was by far the most beautiful little boutique hotel in town.. right in the action zone. We had a room in the garden and it was really quite and had a great garden view. We went to the roof of the hotel to view the ocean. The rooms were nice and decorated w/ mexican art and paintings. My friend and I recently stayed at the Hotel Lunata. It was a lovely hotel located on the main street in Playa del carmen. I was staying at another hotel and when I walked by and saw the charming inviting foyer of the hotel, I knew I had to stay there. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The hotel rooms were a good size, warm and very comfortable. Great location, great staff and lovely hotel with beautiful charm. I would highly recommend.

my husband and i eyed this hotel in jan, we stayed in it the first part of sept. and loved it. easy access to the ferry, very curtious staff and very, very clean rooms.

What a charming hotel! The rooms were decorated tastefully. What a fantastic staff! They knew where to eat great food, Where to have a drink, and where to relax on beautiful beaches. A knowledgable staff. I was very happy staying at Lunata. I hope Playa de Carmen does not change to another Cancun. Those that are loud and obnoxious,please stay in Cancun. Playa is not for you. It is for pepole who have taste and know how to put themselves together. No offence. Have a great day.

My husband and I stayed at Lunata for 4 nights and loved it. It was a perfect stay and we highly recommend it. The staff is great especially Melissa.
