La Malmaison Hotel

I just arrived back from the Hotel La Malmaison and could'nt fault it. Location of the hotel is superb. Withing walking distance of everything. Hotel was very clean and staff were friendly and very helpful. A group of ten people travelled with me. We booked 5 rooms and even though we arrived very early, the hotel were able to provide us with 3 rooms and the last 2 about an hour later. We have just returned from Nice. We first heard of the hotel by a friend who had previously stayed there. When we arrived, we were pleasently surprised that there was a mini fridge and two bottles of water complementary in our hotel room, which was a nice personal touch. The fridge came in handy to keep drinks cool and to keep fruit we bought fresh. The room was clean,a nice size, with high ceilings. It could clearly be seen that it had been recently refurbished. this hotel was okay. we paid 150 euros a night breakfast included. our room wasn't very clean. it had carpet stains, the mirror in the hall was dirty and no soap except for the last day. the towels were too small. i guess for 150 it wasn't bad. the breakfast was okay. nothing amazing. i have stayed at better hotels for 150. in the past i stayed at hotel massena. this hotel was better than hotel massena. i would stay again i guess, but i would look and see if i had better options for 150.

Fab 3 star hotel. On tree lines boulevard 5 mins walk from the prom des anglais. We paid £74 per night B & B thru easyjet. Rooms are good size, we were 4 floors up and could not here any traffic noise whatsoever. Breakfast good catering for most tastes. All staff very friendly and helpful. First time in Nice...we will go back and we will stay here.

We had a really enjoyable stay - 5 nights. The staff were very welcoming and provided an excellent service. Our comfort room was clean and well furnished and was quiet. It also had a very nice bathroom- modern and functional.The hotel is in a delightful setting - lovely Boulevard - and only a short walk to the beach (5 min) and into the old town. Breakfast was fine. Would certainly be happy to stay there again and recommend to friends.

We have just returned from 6 nights at this hotel. It is in an excellent location on a lovely tree lined road about 5 minutes walk from the beach and about 20 mins from the old town. The hotel was immaculately clean and the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. We stayed in a double room at the front of the hotel with a lovely balcony with table and chairs, not all rooms have full balconys we requested this and it is worth it. Stayed for 4 nights in June,hotel was easy to find by car,staff where very pleasant and imformative. The comfort room was very dull and basic,small but very clean modern bathroom and small balcony with no furniture,although you could use chairs from the room.In the corner was an ugly matt black unit which contained small fridge and two large locked cupboards,heaven knows why.The prestige rooms which are only 15 euros a night more look the better bet,they also have large balconies with furniture. 11-13 May 2007. Just stayed there for the weekend with four friends. Great location, as within walking distance of promenade, station, shops, restaurants etc. Rooms are modern and clean as they are newly refurbished. Breakfast was 11 euros and was good, with a choice of breads, yoghurt, scrambled eggs and bacon, boil your own egg etc - eat as much as you like. My friend and I travelled to NIce to photograph trains as we prefer them to football. Normally a business traveller, I'm used to staying in good quality hotels but this time I was paying so wanted something that offered value for my money. La Malmaison performed in every respect. It is not part of the well known chain in the UK which originally caused me some some confusion, instead it appears to be independently owned. Myself and my husband stayed at the malamison for 5 days in aug. The hotel was just going through the final stages of it's Refurbishment. They were finishing some work on lift, however it was still operational.. Rooms very clean, furnished well, mini bar, tv, balcony. We booked a superior room, not massive but more than adequate for our needs. Good sized bathroom. This is such a quiet hotel we had five nights of solid sleep!!! Great balcony with superb views over the city.. Promenade 10 mins walk.. Old town around 20 mins... more
