Hotel Campanile Nice Acropolis

Spent eight nights with my wife at the campanile in Sept. 2006 The hotel is spotlessly clean, the staff are all english speaking and very helpful, the continental breakfast at 8 EUROS was more than adequate and the hotel is central to the old town and is only five minutes away from the main bus station. But the rooms are VERY SMALL with very little hanging space and NO drawers at all, If you are happy to live out of a suitcase the hotel is more than adequate. The hotel is just on the border of vieux Nice and about 15 minutes walking distance to the sea. The campanile is clean and relatively new - I think functional would best describe what you get when you visit this hotel. I think for the price of the hotel you get your money's worth, you certainly don't overpay.

We booked this hotel through laterooms for a low rate of 49 euros per night. 'Walk in' rates seemed to be 80 euros at weekend, 69 euros weekdays. The substantial breakfast was 8 euros. The hotel was generally clean, had friendly english speaking staff and is in an excelent central location. As we paid such a bargain rate I must of course be realistic, however there were some minor problems which i will point out - wouldnt be a proper review otherwise! We arrived very late and missed a day (because of train schedules) and the very friendly staff accomodated us, but when we got to the room the sheets were dirty and the soap in the bathroom was still wet from use. We asked for a new room and got one that was cleaner. How can we really complain since it was 65 Euro? Very close to the bus station for trips to Cannes and Monaco and also to the airport.

We decided to plan a trip at the last minute and drive into Nice without a hotel. Seeing it was late February, we didn't think we'd have a problem... we ended up in old town and walked by this hotel. Walked up to the counter and asked for a rate, they gave us a fairly decent sized room with two single beds for 64E and we purchases breakfast at 8E each. The location is pretty good, it is near the museum, old town and about 10min from the beaches. It can get a little questionable at night to where you want to walk but the hotel... more

We stayed at this hotel for 8 nights last July.The location is perfect. (If you arrive by bus, get out at the busstation near the museum of modern art. From there it's a 2 minutes walk to the hotel)In about 10 minutes you walk from the Campanile, through the charming old city, to the beach. Single room with comfortable double bed. Airco, no noise from the street and very clean. Good breakfast. I would stay there again.

Just got back from one week stay during mid July at this hotel. I booked on laterooms.com for 59 Euros a night. We were in room 105, which direcly faced the highway. (If you don't like noise, ask for something that doesn't face the highway). While I was thrilled to be paying this low for a decent room, it was definitely noisy and had the motel feel to it of slamming doors waking you up at all hours of the day and night and drunk guests coming in at all sorts of hours of the morning and making noise (maybe the stag party in the previous... more

I have just returned from 5 nights in Nice. Myself and 7 others (all male - it was a Stag weekend!) stayed at the Campanile Hotel in Boulevard Risso (next to the Acropolis Exhibition Centre). We only paid 69 Euros per room per night (on their website) and found the hotel to be very clean and very friendly. The rooms were small but were very well presented. This is a great budget hotel in Nice. I stayed here 5 nights in June 2005. If you're here on business and attending the Acropolis Centre, it's a perfect location - it is so close you can see the acropolis from the the hotel. Also the hotel is in a great location for the museum of modern and contemporary art, also other art galleries which I can't remember. We stayed at this hotel last May-2004-and were very pleased with it. Very clean,very convenient to local shopping,bus station,the port.the Promenade, art galleries etc. The buffet breakfast restaurant is exceptional and the staff friendly. Rooms are compact (small) but have everything you need. We have used this hotel in Alicante as well,it is much bigger than Nice with a full restaurant which served me up the best T bone steak I have had in a long time! Peter.
