Club Las Velas Cancun Hotel

I was abit apprehensive prior to my trip to Cancun. The previous reviews worried me and I wasn't so sure whether I made the right choice. I had nothing to worry about. This hotel is amongst the best I've ever stayed in. The hotels' standards are very high. The staff are always cleaning, the rooms are impeccable and on a couple of nights I even caught them scrubbing the surrounding flooring outside the hotel. We didn't have one problem throughout our trip. I agree that being a young couple makes us 'low maintenance,' not having the needs of a younger family or elderly couple but our stay there reslly was flawless. The hotel is ideal if your looking for a nice relaxing holiday. there is a seperate adult pool with adequate space and a stunning raised sea view. this area also has it's own bar, hammocks and very clean, toilets. There is no entertainment in the evenings as such but it was nice to have a few drinks and chat to other guest in the Lobby Bar. Pedro and Manuel are great on the bar anticipating your drink before you even ask. Shopping is great here. La Isla is situated across the road. It's a new shopping arcade where you can have a drink, shop for trinkets or take in cheaper designer gear. (No copies). There are two restaurants here with a rolling weekly menu. There is a decent selection of food but as with most all inclusive, dinner is quite impersonal and probably averaged 10 minutes each evening for us. There is a nicer restaurent with sea views and waiter service, which can be booked on a daily basis. Don't worry about this place, it was great.
