Girasol Condos Cancun Hotel

Ok, I'll admit it, I'm a poor college student. Me and three of my friends decided to go with the Girasol because of the location and mostly because of the price. The location was PERFECT. We were virtually right across the street from Senor Frogs and right down the street from all of the best clubs (Bulldogs, Dady'O, Coco Bongo, etc.), which was perfect for spring break. We stayed at the Girasol for less than a week. When we entered the condo, we were all surprised - the house, the beautiful ocean view, it was more than we had expected. The condo was positioned in one of the most ideal places. The beach was out the back door, delicious restaurants and fantastic clubs right in the front, we couldn't ask for more. I stayed with another couple at this penthouse unit for a week. There was plenty of room and the location was fantastic- the view was beautiful and it was a short walk to lots of shopping, food and entertainment. The building is somewhat old, so there are a few issues with it. The main ones were the elevator of which only one worked and didn't work all the time. We took the stairs down (8 flights) several times because the elevator was so slow. I only had to walk up the 8 flights once when the elevator didn't seem to be working, but... more

My sister, sister-in-law and I rented a condo unit at the Girasol, Penthouse #4, for the week of Feb 5-12. The Girasol is located directly on one of the best Cancun beaches, close to great shopping, restaurants and night life. For anyone doubtful of coming here, DON'T BE! My friend an i stayed at the Girasol for a total of 2 weeks from the 18th Jan - 1st Feb 05. I must say that after reading some of the write ups we where a little aprehensive to go and stay there. But we where nicely suprised when we got there. The rooms are basic but they are cleaned every day and the staff are VERY friendly both on the front desk and throughout the hotel. The lifts broke down on a few occaisions but where always up and running within a few hours. The staff are very attentive but they do things in Mexican time dont expect... more

Just got back from a wonderful stay at the Girasol Condo. We stayed in PH10. The view was spectacular. The condo was clean and the staff very friendly. The location of the Condo is second to none. Perfect location for walking to and from the clubs. The owners of Ph10 were just great people to rent from. Told us where to eat and how to get around. Cannot wait to go back.

Okay, I've read a few of the reviews of the Girasol. I have stayed at the Girasol several times and I just have to give my two cents. The Girasol is in a GREAT location. Some of the best beach is there, we've even had some of the best snorkeling just off the beach. Yeah, the pool and the lobby, etc. aren't plush like other hotels, but how much time do you spend in your room or the hotel when you are in Cancun??? I've always had hot water, and air-conditioning. I had the opportunity to stay in 2 different condos at the Girasol during the past month. I stayed in 2 different penthouses;#4 and #10. Both were great. The view is better from one, but the furnishings are better in the other. I was easily able to accommodate 8 persons. They were both well equipped with all the normaal accessories, but special touches like hammocks on the balcony, 5 gallon water bottle dispenser, 2 large balconies and Dish network with over 150 channels and even 2 belly boards for the tenants use. I have stayed at the Girasol several times in PH10 and can't wait to go back. The location can't be beat. The view is fantastic. My experience there each time has been very good. It may be older but it is kept clean and quiet except for the wonderful sound of the waves when the door is open!!! I look forward to staying there again soon and perhaps purchasing time in this particular condo so I can return regularly.
