Les Deux Tours

The hotel consists of a large very green and beautiful park in which the rooms and suites are arranged in small building groups. This provides a very special atmosphere to the stay, especially as finding your way to the room is not easy in the beginning. But getting lost seems to be part of the concept. For the outdoor experience, there is a large pool (for morrocan standards) in the park and several suites also have their own pool. We booked this hotel at the very last minute, having been let down by the Riad Sultana. I was a little worried before we arrived, having read some reviews on this website but we couldn't have had a better stay. The hotel and gardens are stunning, the atmosphere relaxed, the clientele were families, couples and from every conceivable country. The mixed reviews turned out correct - the bad ones that is! The place has tremendous potential but thats all it is - potential. Service was terrible. It was not slow, or lazy but just non-existent and rude. We waited 90minutes for our drinks by the pool and made 3 trips to the reception during the 90min. The first time we went, we saw the guy who we ordered from, hanging out talking to the mgr. The mgr said shifts changed, we'll get it. Ofcourse no sign of it! We spent just two days at the Villa Les Deux Tours, a small resort-like complex in the Palmeries section of Marrakech (about 15 minutes by taxi). The only down-side: we had requested the hotel to arrange a car from the airport, since our flight was scheduled to arrive late at night. Unfortunately, no car was wating for us, so we had to take a taxi and paid a hefty price (400 dirhams, or $50 USD, when it should have been half that or less). It did not have a good management. It is a beautiful place with beautiful rooms. But it needs some good service. I had to sleep next to a generator. I told the manager and he said he will turn it of at night. Next night it did not turn off. So i called the reception. They said they would close it but they did not. So I went to the reception and asked them again they said sorry one moment. I whent back to my room. But the generator was still on. I waited 20 Minutes. Then I went to the reception again. I stayed at villa les deux tours for 4 days with my husband in march. Having read the mixed reviews i wasn't too sure what to expect but we couldn't have a had a more pleasant stay. The grounds of the hotel are marvellous, very green and fresh, full of ponds and hidden gardens and with a fantastic pool. The room was great, with two private terraces and the service excellent, they could't have been kinder. Les Deux Tours is a stunning property with magical gardens to match. The sound of frogs croaking, birds singing and the smell of orange blossom greet you when you arrive. There is a beautiful swimming pool and area to relax during the heat of the day and the bedroom was large, clean and had a good bathroom. Very nice place but the attention and service were terrible... better said: no service at all. My wife and I were at Les Deux Tours in august 2005 for six nights. You can ask them to bring the breakfast to your room, but two mornings we waited more than one hour for it. They simply forgot it. When they arrange your room in the morning, they can leave the rests of your breakfast at the door until evening. This is not a hotel, this place takes you to another time. Very atmospheric. You feel like you just discovered a hidden castle somewhere in the middle of nowhere. Completely different to the trendy design of the riads in the centre of town, Les Deux Tours seems still to belong to another area. Fantastic swimming pool, great gardens and very atmospheric restaurant. However, also some downsides. Just returned from three nights of heaven on earth at Les Deux Tours. It was the perfect place to relax and recover after eleven hectic & hot travelling days in Mali, to reach Timbuktu. Everything in Mali very basic so a treat was needed before returning to the UK. Our "room" - number 34 - was fabulous. Our very own garden, terrace and pool, all shaded and secluded - plus the biggest bedroom in the world and an amazing Moroccan tiled bathroom to relax in - and another sitting room - all just for the two of us.
