Don't go if you want Union Jack shorts and towels
We went for a week in June and having read previous reviews, knew what to expect. We had booked a sea view, but ended up with a sea view junior suit. So that was a good start. It did turn out that the air conditioning didn't work. It was reported, but I can only think that when the engineer came and heard the fan blowing, he thought it was ok. Unfortunately it didn't blow cold air out..... Room 617. If you get this nice room, check the air con when you arrive; it could take some time to get fixed. The hotel itself is great. The staff... more
Good Hotel on sea front
Tafoukt Hotel was recommended to us by 2 friends. We read the reviews and as the majority stated this is a good hotel with a lot of French guests. My husband, John, and myself were the only 2 English people from the 11-25 May 2009. We spoke to a Dutch couple and a Belgium couple who we became friendly with. The only other people who spoke English were the staff and the animation team. The food was good although it did become a bit repetitive after 2 weeks but there was always something you could find as there was quite a big choice.... more

Decameron tafoukt agadir
This hotel is still known by locals as ' Tafoukt' ( sun in arabic ) although it was taken over by the international Decameron group and given a makeover in the last year or so. For the better I'd say. We stayed one week Jan '09 and found very little to complain about. Food excellent and varied with plenty of choice, and there was always bottled water on the table every meal. Wine as well if you want it. Waiters not too bad at all, considering the typical laid back Moroccan style. Neat gardens and large heated pool, kept nice and well... more
A litle gem,
We had stayed in Agadir about 3 years ago and liked the laid back feel, so booked the Decameron a more central hotel. We could'nt have been in a better position, thankfully the promenade had been finished outside the hotel so access to the beach was easy, having said that it still has ongoing work outside the side of the hotel. We were in a minority being 2 out of 8 or so English people which suited us fine. The only downside to that being lack of communication but we did try with our limited French. The food was excellent... more
Very Good Hotel
Stayed at the Decammeron Tafoukt for 2 weeks. The hotel itself is very clean, modern and resonably appointed hotel. We had a large family room with seperate bathroom and toilet. The rooms are cleaned every day, with the towels also changed every day. There are clean towels available for the pool and the beach. However, even though the hotel has a 'no reserving sunbeds' policy, if you want one by the pool you will need to claim it by 09:00. The private beach area will need to be claimed by about 10:00!!!! The food is varied, with a... more
A Superb Holiday Location
A superb hotel, in an excelllent location on the main beach strip. The hotel itself is modern and extremely clean. The staff are very friendly and go out of their way to make your stay a wonderful experience. The food was superb at all times, with plenty of choice and varierty. They had themed evenings such as Morroccan delicacies, chinese, italian etc.. So catered for all. The salad bar was gorgeous with fresh breads everyday, and loads of fruit and deserts. The snack bar had the usual burgers, pizzas, crepes etc and was ideal for the kids... more
not a 4 star
this is a 3 star hotel at best, sorry but thats what we thought as did many others, the new owners of the hotel De Cameron are trying hard to make it better though. The reception is beautiful but we got given the key to 209 (as did many other couples) this room was close to the pool/entertainment area, was dark & worst of all it stank of pee ! we got moved to a duplex in the non refurb bit, it seemed very basic despite being sea front, and when the plumbing started to play up we got moved again to room 360, this room was much better but dont... more
If you really must go to Agadir, this hotel is nice
This hotel was nice and seemed to be one of the nicest on the strip. We're glad we stayed here but wouldn't recommend Agadir in general. The beach in Agadir is not the best and there is no private beach for this hotel - it really shouldn't have beach in the hotel name. The pool area is nice but can be very loud. There is an animation team who are generally quite nice but are constantly doing activities by the pool. We went in June and the evenings get quite chilly - advise bringing a cardigan or light jacket. The evening entertainment... more
Hotel 4 star, but not all rooms are lots of work on the beach
We stayed hear for just 1 week being English but living in france, we knew it would be all French speaking so not bothered with that but as I dont speak a great deal of French did feel a littel left out. The hotel is lovley the food fantastic, but our room was rubbish it was at the back on e of the older rooms 543 if they offer you this room say no, it overlooked the new building of a hotel and that is what the problem was at 6 every morning the workmen arrived at 7 they started work right outside, you could not open the windows or have... more
