Bay View Hotel

My friend and I recently stayed at this hotel. it was clean and functional. cleaned every day,the cleaner kept on leaving us elaborate sculptures on the bed,made out of towels.nice touch. the room was compact,but at least the air con worked even if the little fridge didn't. the food was pretty random,but filled a hole. mostly stew/casseroles of meat or fish with veg or rice.breakfast consisted of processed cheese and mystery meat,omelette,bread products.Ate out in town most nights as it was dirt cheap.lobster for two £20. I have to say I paid £40 for a twin for 2 nights here and I wasn't sure what I would get. The rooms are decorated nicely and the rooms are all clean and looked after well. The swimming pool and general areas offer all the usual facilities and there are some nice cabana type beds. I've stayed at the hilton here too and to be fair, Bay View isn't better but definately more value for money with everything you need. It's also very close to the nightlife without having to hear it when you go to bed

My wife and I stayed at the Bay View in March 09. Our opinion of the hotel changed whilst we were there. When we arrived, although the reception is lovely, our first impression of our room was "it's basic". However, once we'd settled in after a day or 2, we realised the room was more than adequate; it was large, plenty of storage space, the air-con worked brilliantly, good size bed (although it was 2 beds pushed together), and we never knew how many different shapes you can make out of a bath towel(!). We stayed at Bay View Hotel for a week (12th march to 19th march 2009). At first we were a little disappointed because it looked a little dull, boring, small and badly maintained. We checked in and were escorted to our room - where the dispppointment REALLY kicked in. When we first walked in we noticed the room was like an empty hall with a bit of furniture to make it look like a room. We spent a nice time in this hotel, nearby the center of Naama Bay. Food is very very good for the price what you have to pay for this hotel. Its not such a big hotel, yes I can recommanded to everybody.

We stayed here to be near to Emperor Divers which has justed moved to the hotel. The hotel was clean and tidy and had what we needed. The rooms aren't large but they do have superior rooms which are a good size. There is a fridge and air con and the bathroom is fine with a good shower. On the first couple of days there was an issue with breakfasts - no-one here to cook the omlettes and pancakes and had to wait around. However after a quick word with the hotel manager, the service immediately improved - excellent customer service.... more

We booked a week here and a week at the Amar Sina as we couldn't decide which to choose (see separate review for Amar Sina). We were very pleased with the Bay View, the only downside is the building work going on behind the hotel. The price at 20 GBP per night for double room B&B through holidaynights.co.uk reflects this. The location is excellent, a five minute walk into the centre but in a quiet location (at least it will be when the works have finished). Bay View Hotel is the the cheap and cheery type of hotel favoured by the locals. Compare to the more luxious hotels nearby this hotel is dated and basic, as reflexed in the price. Nevertheless it is situated at the end of Naama Bay, close to resturants and walking distance to the jetty.. We booked a dive package via Tony Backhurst, I would say the dive centre OXGENE which is located in the hotel premises, is not professionally run, despite its claimed status. It's pretty decent as a 3 star hotel. The location is near Namaa bay, around 5 minutes walk,which is great. The room was spacious although it wasn't that luxurious. Even though the hotel doesn't have its own beach, but it provides its guests access to other beaches, at least you get to go to more than one beach and the pool is big and deep. The food was tasty though not much variety. The receptionists were friendly and co-operative. Described as "a 3 star 90 room hotel conveniently situated 2 mins walk from Naama Bay". In reality, nothing special at all and it would be a poor place to spend a holiday. There is a largish pool at the back of the hotel, overlooked by a building site - this is also used for diver training. The rooms are large and servicable but have little in terms of comforts. Three lightbulbs did not work in our room and the telephone was broken. The restaurent serves very poor food, better to eat out somewhere nearby. Check-in and out was efficient.
