Me and the wife have stayed here twice once with thomas cook arghhh! and once that we stumbled upon having said we wouldnt go there again. What a difference the troubles lie with thomas cook not with the hotel, go there independently and youl have a far nicer and true... more

We booked our holiday with Thomas cook (through directline). Thomas Cook apparantly have 100% exclusivity on this place. Now we read all the reviews from different sites which (on the whole) were pretty postive, so we were very excited about our trip. The hotel itself is ok. You have aprox 20 rooms on 2 levels but they all overlook a fairly busy road and as there is so much building going in the area that the lorries can make it fairly noisy, but you do get used to it. On the other side of the building is the pool / bar / dining area (sadly no rooms overlook this side) which is all quite pleasant. The bedrooms are spacious and kept very clean. My only gripe with the place is the service - or lack of it. Lets be honest, the whole resort is really strugglng - no more than a handful of people in each bar / restaurant / hotel so everywhere you go the staff make a real effort - apart from at the Tzevenos! I feel they are secure in the knowledge that Thomas cook will keep the business turning over and they do not need to try any more. The family barely speak to customers (except a few regulars that have been coming since its hey day). You cannot get breakfast before 9 / 9.30 as they are still in bed, then they drag their feet as if getting you a coffee in the morning is too much effort. Breakfast for B&B guests is 2 slices of toast with a few packs of butter and jam plus a tea / coffee. If you pay more for a full english it is poor quality and not well cooked. I ordered boiled eggs one day that must have been boiled for less than 2 minutes - unedible. You pay premium price for everything, 2 euros for a bottle of water identical for the ones you can buy in the shop for 1.80 euro for a pack of 6!!!. Coke / mixers are served from big bottles so is often flat (and not kept in the fridge) - everywhere else gave chilled cans / glass bottles etc. They charge 8 euros for an hour on the net - the most expensive broadband in the world! The pool was never cleaned and by the end of our week the water was cloudy. Overall, we just felt that the staff were not interested, demotivated and a bit complacent. Plus they were happy to charge premium prices food / drinks/services which you could get at a much higher quality elsewhere. Now, we dont go on holiday to moan (quite the opposite) but unfortunately a lot of the guests were unimpressed and our conversations often turned to a bit of a laugh and joke over the poor service etc. It is such a shame as obviously this place was clearly once a great place to stay. It has a huge amount of potential and i hope they manage to retrieve the "special something" which shows through in reveiws from previous years.
