The hotel is basic but standard; it could do with a bit of a clean up like windows cleaned, new blankets in all rooms (the blankets provided were like dog blankets with holes cigarette burns and stains on them).
Some of the glass doors through out the hotel were broken or cracked and just stuck together with tape. The cleaner came every day and just made the beds (if you want clean sheets or towels leave them on the floor).
Lovely pool area nice staff. Always pay for your drinks as you get them because ours was put on our room number, we went to pay at the end of the day and got charged twice.
It’s also a bit annoying with the owners hanging around the hotel night and day, watching you but not hardly smiling or saying hello. They are not really interested in how comfortable guests are just so long as they get there money.
We personally wouldn’t stay in this hotel again, not because of the state of it (cause when we gave the room a good clean ourselves it was easier to get used to) but because of where it was situated personally for us.
We have a 5 year old son who was not at all keen on walking into Turgetries every day and night, in the heat. So it made for us the so called twenty mins strole into town a forty minute journey, we would definitely find a hotel closer to the town.
Amazing sunset views every day, a lovely cool breeze to stop you feeling too hot.
Every thing about Turgetries is lovely, the food, the people, the bars, the restaurants. One of our favourite ones was cool breeze, the people there were lovely they made us feel like royalty, and couldn’t do enough for us.
They organised our trips and picked us up from the hotel in his car, also when our son fell asleep in the restaurant after a meal at night they gave us a lift back to the hotel.
The cool breeze staff did more for us then our own holiday company Gold trial. There was no rep and we had to stay at the hotel all day on our last day because there was no information of our transfers.
Turgetries is a wonderful resort with plenty to do, for all ages. Were already planning our next holiday back!

Basically the same comments as the last review, all of them!!!
Turgetries is a lovely resort though, nice people, great selection of places to eat, our favourites were.
The Anatolian (tree house like structures, cushions to sit on!!)
Cool Breeze
The Kings Table, ask Martin for a chicken shish wrap, extra hot!! It is gorgeous and costs £1.00.
Deniz Restaurant (shrimp casserole to die for)
Would visit Turgetries again but definitely stay somewhere else!!
We are well travelled, frequently stay 2 or 3*, but the standards here are well below this and it is the first time we have ever felt the need to complain.

Ok so it isn't the Hilton but this hotel doesn’t deserve a 1/10! For August holiday and £300 deal takes some beating. It’s not dirty and if anyone has been to Turkey you have a basic standard, but clean, room.
The bathroom did smell but what do you expect at 45c plus! Breakfast is very Turkish! The bar staff are superb especially Emre and Hamza who always smiled even after 12/3 hours! We had a problem with the rooms but were moved within 15 minutes.
The salty showers took some getting used to but a severe drought has hit. If you go with a realistic expectation, you won’t be disappointed- its prefect base to explore. A hotel is only a place to get your head down on a night.
Gold trail are a ropey company so if you look at their hotel do a bit of research- the Cemre is of a good but basic standard.

We booked the Cemre online after searching lots of different hotel reviews for Turgutreis. We were looking for a small friendly hotel on B+B only where we could chill out during the day and walk to the town for dinner in the evening. It worked out just fine.
The staff at the Cemre are friendly and helpful but not too pushy. The rooms are small, but comfortable and all have air conditioning though this an extra charge of £15/week. The bathroom was very small - could barely get past each other and we are not big people!
Breakfast is basic: bread, eggs, cheese, olives, honey and jam. If you want extra you can buy it -reasonable prices. Reception staff and owners very helpful. You can change money at good rates here.
The pool is small, so no olympic swimming here. There is a small private beach area and safe sloping shoreline, with sunbeds and umbrellas.
The walk into town along the shore will take about 15-20 mins and there are lots of restaurants and bars - prices vary a lot though. All together a very reasonably priced and enjoyable holiday.

Pool ok and cleaned regularly by bar staff who were friendly & polite.
But, hotel rooms were very basic = two single beds pushed together to make a double and you had to buy air conditioning as it was not included as standard. Sheets were only changed when YOU stripped the bed and left them on the floor.
Our room the Shower constantly dripped/ran as it wouldn’t shut off even though we complained. Room was dirty things like layers of dust on towel rails. All plug sockets looked like they had had a fire in them previously.
Room also stank badly of drains. Hotel were aware of this, as they had recently put up an auto room fragrance to mask the smell.
Water in shower was cold 80% of the time and tasted of salt all the time/ hygiene standard generally were not great.
We saw the Chef smoking.
Also breakfast consisted of the following: Some bread, olives, tomatoes, cucumber, water melon, hard boiled eggs, and Feta type cheese. Cereal, toast, and Juice would have been nice to have. Tea & Coffee urns were so old & dirty they leaked but worked if you could find a cup.
We did complain about various issues during the trip but they were never rectified, personally I got the impression that the owners didn’t care.
NB: We did know we were coming to 2 star but a better level of basic cleanliness would have been better.
To describe in a couple of words = fawlty towers!

Just back from 'Hotel Cemre' with my boyfriend and it was an amazing holiday, we are a young couple and loved it! Everybody who works there couldn't do anything more for you, so helpful in every way possible way.
It's is a lovely small family run hotel, perfect for relaxing in the roasting hot Turkish sun either at the pool or on the Hotels little private beach.
The centre of Turgetreis is a few minutes’ walk along the beach from the hotel that has a lot of bars and night life, but if you want a livelier holiday Gumbet or Bodrum is best as Turgetreis is more relaxed.
You can have a beautiful meal (which is very cheap!) whilst watching the sunset, which is a picture perfect every night!
A must do is the Sea Breeze boat trip, there is a lot to pick from but the Sea Breeze is the best prices with so much fun on your day out! I had one of the best holidays staying at 'Hotel Cemre'.
We will be definitely going back to the 'Cemre' next time I visit Turkey!!

For the second year in a row the Cemre hotel has made our holiday fantastic.
We enjoyed every minute of our stay. The people couldn’t be nicer -Adam(x2) ,Joseph, Sam, Onur, the chef, the receptionist, and all the others.
Our room was great with a fantastic view over the sea. Spent every day by beach and pool.
The hotel Eda people were nice and played football and volleyball.
Food was great and am going to look forward to a visit next year. Cheers!

The score says it all, friendly fantastic staff in Ken, Sam etc. Loads of car parking. Chef fantastic, Turkish night brilliant and FREE, could not fault it. Even went back for a couple of meals in August 2006 whilst staying in our villa, it’s that good.
Sunset from the restaurant is amazing. Nice stroll into the centre of Turgetries which is a real delight to visit

Hotel was clean and staff were brilliant, they couldn't do enough for us. The pool was always clean and the bar open from 8.00am until the last man standing every night.
Turgutreis itself is the most chilled out place you could imagine with views of sheer beauty. Plenty to do with boat trips costing £10.00 for all day including lunch.
Will be going back.

What a wonderful place. Friendly, clean and good food in the evening. Just being a few steps away from the sea it was nice to wonder between that and the pool, forever being pampered over by Sam or Joe the young waiters who worked their socks off the whole time we were there.
There are many good restaurants to choose from but the two main good ones we found were "The Well" and "Anotolian" both situated along the beach which you pass every time you walk into town. All meals we had were wonderful and no day could be faulted.
The Turkish bath in Bodrum is a must which is opposite the bus station. Women wash women and men do men. We did hear quite a few stories about another bath place that did men on women, none of them were good stories. St Peters Castle in Bodrum is a must, the stunning views from there are unbelievable.
The local buses are good cheap and reliable and a lovely experience.

We visited Turgutreis in August 2005. Temperatures reached a whopping 55 degrees, however surprisingly u don’t feel as hot because there is a lovely cooling breeze.
We stayed in the Cemre hotel which is situated on beach. There is a big pool and a restaurant with the kindest, hard working staff, which you will certainly become friends with. Being bored is impossible in Turgutreis, there is a huge range of things to do including snorkelling in the beautiful blue water, scuba diving, trips in to Bodrum & water sports.
The most enjoyable days of the holiday were when we went on the boat trips. There are many boats to choose from, but clearly the one to go on is Thomas boat. We went on this boat twice. You visit many islands and have the chance to go for a swim. On one occasion we were lucky enough to get a glimpse of dolphins. What really makes the day are the crew, we met Simon, Thomas, a man they called Blondy and many others.
The town was about a half an hour walk along a beach, when you get in to town there are hundreds of restaurants to chose from. I would recommend a restaurant called 'can' where you always get a nice meal. Restaurants aren’t the only ways to get foot, there is a supermarket called M M MIGROS where there is a huge range of food for a cheap price.
Prices are very cheap especially at the market which takes place every Saturday.
The secret is to barter or you just get ripped off. I bought 5 designer shirts, flash jumpers, and a lactose tracksuit for 40 pounds.
The locals are extremely friendly and you will make many friends. Overall the holiday was brilliant and I give it 9 out of 10.

Hotel was very basic. There was no warm greeting on arrival, just a key and room number. The room was small with 2 beds pushed together, and everything we touched fell off the wall. The air conditioning didn’t work and the beds were never made properly. The bathroom didn’t appear to be cleaned either.
However the food served at Cemre was lovely, though breakfast was typically Turkish-but then what else would you expect?
I too thought it was like fawlty towers, and found the staff a bit aloof, apart from Adam who was always friendly. Overall, if it’s a cheap holiday you're after then this would be ideal - but it's quite a stroll into the main area of Turgutreis.
