Eleon grand resort and Spa

We have just got back from a lovely relaxing two weeks at the Eleon and can honestly say that there are absolutely no problems with this hotel. The other buildings are completely finished and have guests in them – even the family suites with their scarily deep mini swimming pools. The workmen are now hard at it completing all the landscaping and bar in that area. The difference we saw from the day we arrived to the day we left was phenomenal! Rep left the coach 2 hotels previous so we were left in the hands of the hotel staff. They were great and looked after us very well. One of the party was on crutches and we were placed in a room in a seperate building 200 metres from the main hotal bulding. This isnt in the brochure but the staff changed it with no fuss at all. Booked the holiday about 2 months before we set off and two days before we were due to go were told the hotel was not finished although we had been in a week before and told Thomas Cook that we had seen on the internet that the hotel was not finished and were assured that it was fine. We were offered the Iberostar Plagos Beach which was supposed to be of a similar standard and would be £300 more which they would cover as it was them changing our booking. A fantastic hotel, but not finished. The spa is not nearly ready, so you are paying for something that is not available. We were woken up one day hearing drilling in the spa. When we stayed there was one bar open, which had the childrens entertainment at 9pm. Not what I would call fun! No nightlife at all. Hi, I have just come back from a weeks stay at this hotel with four girl friends we came home on 27th June. We are all avid travellers so feel we have a lot of experience in what to expect of a 5 star hotel, so here is my honest representation of the hotel. When we pulled up I was a bit nervous because the road that leads up to the hotel hasnt been finished but when you walk into the hotel it really does look amazing. We were not kept waiting long for our room and while we were waiting we were encouraged to order some drinks, have a walk around the hotel or have a spot of lunch. My fiance and I were recommended this hotel by our agent and we weren't dissapointed. First - the negatives... As documented previously, parts of the grounds are like a building site and work is ongoing - landscaping and building both. We were unfortunate to be one of the few that were told that this place was not ready for guests to stay in by the tour company and told that we had to accept another hotel or cancel the hotel part of our holiday (meaning we had to find our own - which we did). Our stay was from 8th -15th June. There are no signs for the hotel as you approach it and the driveway doesn't give a good first impression, with it being unfinished. Once inside the staff are very good, helpful and friendly. There is no faulting the service at all. Rooms - very spacious and comfortable. The trouble is things have not been finished off very well. We had room with full bath with shower over, but no screen or curtain, therefore however careful you are the bathroom gets flooded. It seems screens are on order, but haven't... more

We were a bit dubious as the hotel had only been open for 3 days, There were a few teething problems which were sorted as the days went by, some of the facilities are not operational at the moment, but the staff more than make up for this. The staff cannot do enough for you and the food and rooms are superb. When everything is complete this hotel will truly be a 5 star resort. Denny and Mac.
