Great City to visit - next time I’ll know to take a beach towel with me though as we came across the beach that we didn’t even know existed and with the heat being so very hot, the beach was the place to go for us - sightseeing in temperatures of 38 is not fun!
City is gorgeous and lots of things to do / see. Plenty of restaurants too - although we found many kept the 'English' menus out of sight - we felt this was a bit rude and found that we weren’t welcome in some of the restaurants, some staff weren’t so nice either - basically we weren’t Spanish! But I certainly wouldn’t let that put you off going to Barcelona - I’d go back in a minute!
Hotel Oasis 2 is a nice, basic hotel, which was spotless. Staff were nice enough also. The hotel is situated within the Gothic Quarter and is about a 10/15 minute walk from La Ramblas where you find entertainers, pubs, shops, and restaurants. our favourite place was the Hard Rock Cafe - basically, everyone could speak English in there!!

I received this holiday as a gift, so the price was certainly right. The hotel was a bit shabby, but did exactly what it was supposed to do, i.e. put a roof over my head, gave me a place to shower, and feed me breakfast. I loved the city and found it very easy to navigate (using my lonely planet guide). February seemed a really good time to visit, it wasn’t really warm yet, but there weren’t too many other tourists. Highlights include the Lonely Planet Gaudi walking tours, and the Salvador Dali museum.
