Absoloutely stinking !!!! Dont go here !!!
Stayed for one night, couldnt get parked had 2 pay for parking about 1mile from the hotel ! Receptionist didnt have a clue what to do when we checked in, got to the room and the smell in the corridors was OVERWHELMING! smelled like a sewers had burst, complained to receptionist who did absoloutely nothing about it. The room was tiny, one bed was collapsed on the floor with very serious damp problem, walls were cracking and toilet and shower were tiny. We requested a heater as our room was freezing and were told to expect it in the next half... more
Don't bother
We arrived Saturday 22nd November, for one nights stay.(beware, parking is limited) initial impression was good, from outside contempory Hotel sign, stating Boudoir bedrooms! Natalie checked us in, with a friendly smile and very proffesional manner. I had requested a sea-view, and we got one! we were in room 303 on the third floor. The room was small and the bathroom even smaller, the bathroom smelt of urine! and the splash back on the bathroom sink was cracked and mouldy! carpet was dirty, and obviously not cleaned properly. Rooms are very... more
Give It A Miss!
Stayed at this hotel for 1 night..and that was enough!I payed for me and my mum to have a night away as it was her birthday..The hotel was very shabby and dated. With every step it creaked and moaned no matter where you were stood in the whole place!not a major problem however the lack of hot water was a major problem. We reported this to reception...unfortunatley due to a lack of staff she couldnt get anyone to come and look at the shower...After a quick cold wash in the sink we went out in blackpool! It was a great night check out the soul... more
been there before
third time of staying at the royal york no problem inspecting bedrooms prior to booking, ok some need refurbs but the tariff reflects this, thefood is excellent the staff ok, entertainment ok and the bedding is clean . dave& family bolton.
Good value for money
Having stayed at the hotel on three previous occasions and intend to book again for this year, I find that the Royal York offers excellent value for the money. I agree the hotel is in need of some refurbishment but according to the friendly and very helpful staff this is an ongoing matter. The food is good and plentiful with an extra menu for kids. The rooms are clean but admitted some of the bathrooms are definately on the small size. On a previous occasion my mother wasn't completely happy with her room (There was absolutely nothing wrong... more
it was ok
we stayed there for 5 nights. service wasn't good but food nice. bedroom ok. waiters had a good manner. hotel deinetly needed refurbishment. would not go back again until cleaned and refurbished.
excellent value
Meals are excellent. Service fine. Rooms clean and cleaned and made up each day. Entertainment very good. eg David Wainright (ex Blood Brothers) . Great value for money. Named wines at dinner are too expensive. Would benefit from A house Red o White at around 8 pounds. David
not so royal after all

Mr Fawlty
We stayed for one night at the Royal York Hotel. One of Blackpool`s premier hotels it says in the brochures and web site. For £59 B&B you would expect a fair standard. The room let rainwater in, the cooked breakfast was quite the worst I have ever tasted. then when we wanted to see the manager, there nobody on duty. We wrote a letter, the reply could have been written by Basil Fawlty himself. Despite all that we still enjoyed our weekend away. Dined Saturday evening at an Italian resturant called The Tiramisu, right from the initial warm... more
